Actually, I was asking this question because I was seriously considering committing suicide. Since posting this question, my husband died. :th_praying::(:emot-hug: This one question and its lack of a clear answer is the only thing stopping me from doing it at the moment. A lady in the grief group I'm attending brought up this topic last week. Heaven or hell?? I dunno but a lack of a clear answer is halting me for the moment.

Why were you considering that, Angelique?

It's private. I'd rather not say.

I am so sorry to hear you husband has died. God strengthen and protect and keep you safe. Whatever it is keeping you from killing yourself is a good thing. Hang in there. Ask God for more strength to cope.

Scripture teaches that Judas and many others names were written in the book of life. Scripture also teaches that Judas had his name removed from the book of life because by transgression he fell. And instead of repenting like the other apsotles who denied Christ, he brooded over his sin and committed suicied.

Check the scripture for yourself.

Judas had his name WRITTEN IN THE BOOK OF LIFE in Heaven as prived by Acts 1:20 with Psalms 69:25-29.

He fell from the apostleship by transgression (Acts 1:15-25).

It was not untill the end of Christs ministry that Judas began to pilfer and to grow cold in his love for Christ. It was not until the last supper that the devil entered into him, that is, became united with him in the same crime. It was two days before the passover that he put into the heart of Judas to go to the enemies of Jesus to betray him. into their hands (Matt. 26:1-5, 14-16; John 13:2). It was at this time that he openly broke with Christ and saught opportunity to betray Him.

Judas was sorry afterwards for his betrayal (Matt. 27:3-5), but did not actually repent.

He could have repented and been forgiven as much as any of the others who cursed, denied Christ, and fled like cowards in the test.

But being of a disposition to do so, he brooded over his fall and yielded to temptation to commit suicide.

His name was then removed from the book of life.

where is anything about the book of life and Judas mentioned in these verses or any where else?

I dont see it at all, what am I missing?

_____________________________________________________________________

He had the Holy Spirit and power like the other apostles and he was a sucessful preacher and healer like them (Matt. 10:1-20; Mark 6:7-13).

He had his name WRITTEN IN THE BOOK OF LIFE in Heaven, Acts 1:20 with Psalms 69:25-29.

He fell from the apostleship by transgression, (sin). (Acts 1:15-25).

"Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus. For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry. Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out. And it was known unto all the dwellers at Jerusalem; insomuch as that field is called in their proper tongue, Aceldama, that is to say, The field of blood. For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell therein: and his bishoprick let another take." (Acts 1:16-20).

And they drew lots and the lot fell upon Matthias. He took Judas's place in the apostleship.

"That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place. And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles." (Acts 1"25-26).

King Saul was another who was in God's favour and grace and comitted suicide and was lost.

Saul was once in God's favour and grace and he had the Holy Spirit and he lost that favour and was destroyed because of sin (1 Chron. 10:3-14). Saul comitted suicide and thereby was lost, for no murderer has eternal life (1 Sam. 28:7-25; 31:1-6; 1 John 3:15; Gal. 5:19-21). It is recorded in Scripture how the spirit left him when he sinned (1 Sam. 16:12-23). Saul went into spiritualism and God said He would cut off the man who did this thing (Lev. 19:31; 20:6; Deut. 18:11). Saul was a humble and godly man when he was chosen to lead Israel, but he did not end this way (1 Sam. 10:21-24).

Haz.

If they had faith in Christ they are in heaven.

If they did not it is very questionable.

No one can answer your question for sure but God. But no one goes to hell becuase they suffered from Bi-polar or depression or whatever sickness of the mind caused them to commit suicide. They are no different from anyone else who dies as far as salvation goes.

Despite what anyone tells you here, nobody can say for sure that they are right. Nobody can tell you that it is a fact that suicide is forgiven because you will not find it in scripture anywhere. The question is really this ... is anyone willing to bet their life with God on another person's belief? I can tell you with certainty that I will not, no matter how bad it gets.

Please, brothers and sisters ... be very careful how you word your faith. Are you really showing them love by telling them that you believe if they take their life they will be with Jesus forever, giving a stamp of approval in a depressed mind?

The only sure answer I know is that only the Lord can tell you this.

Have you talked to Him about this?

And I don't mean, "Lord, I want You to take me now." I mean having a heart-to-heart conversation with him? And specifically asking Him what would happen if you killed yourself.

I did for myself. So I know it's safe to ask Him such things.

And by the way -

:)

sounds like you want an answer so you can make the decision of whether or not to do it? what if we say, no you wont go to hell, and then you kill yourself? :noidea: i know its not about us and our feelings. still tho...

i recently been told that suicide wont end the pain, or something like that. my first thought was "yes. it will." but then i thought about it some more. yes, the earthly pain will be gone, but so will a lot of other things. things that i like. things i would miss if i leave now. and the idea of not having "conquered." like leaving a bed half made. or a book half read. i don't know. i understand wanting to end the pain, or be with someone else who died. i also know no person can take that wanting away. only God can. theres a hymn that says "look to Jesus now and live." thats what id say to you now. the desire still pops up for me now and then, but i gotta trust God to hold onto me. sometimes thats all i can do. please do that, too. :)

I agree, it sounds more like you are looking for permission, rather than help.

You want to escape from the problems of this life. I don't blame you, really I don't. What you have been through recently is horrendous. But your life does not belong to you, now, does it? It belongs to the LORD. He is not finished with you, of that I am certain. Don't ask Him to quit on you just because life is too hard. He's got something in store for you, don't ask Him to forfeit that plan just because you are unhappy.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
