I haven't been back to counseling since he died. I did call her today and talk with her for a couple of hours.

Yes, actually, I have two. A friend is coming over tonight to babysit them for me for a while.

Angel, please get rid of the guns. In your current state you shouldnt have them in your home. Next year, hopefully this will all be past you, then if you want them back, then maybe it will be ok. But for now ..... please get rid of them.

Because they were my husbands and I'm not about to get to get rid of anything he's given me because he's dead. He can't give me anything anymore so I'm holding onto them.

I can understand that. But perhaps a friend will take them from you for a time, like a year. Still yours, not gotten rid of, but also not in your home to tempt you either. Make a plan that you can get them in one year, not before, and only if your counselor says its ok.

I don't believe that is absolute. Satan influences us to commit all sorts of sin, even as Christians. I agree that a Christian who is devoutly seeking God and walking with Him wouldn't really commit such an act because He is listening to the Holy Spirit. But a Christian who is lukewarm and backslidden and also has a root of undealt-with rage, could conceivably commit such an act. In a mental state such as that, in its height, it could happen..but in that case, I believe the Holy Ghost would rise up in advance to avert the act, and if unheeded in His strong counsel beforehand, would strongly convict the person of His terrible crime.

Look at David, God's beloved. He murdered. He was remorseful. In remorse one returns to God through Jesus Christ. Forgiveness is there.

Now the work would begin on rebuilding that person's mind, not to mention his relationships.

So, the act of murder doesn't mean one loses His salvation. If he has totally abandoned God, and is not filled with godly sorrow which should lead to repentance, then that person has not believed in Christ, and is unregenerate.
