It was not intended to be funny. My next door neighbor is mute.

I apologize for my rudeness.

It's ok....She would laugh too actually.

Ok I gotta ask it.....are those who are mute expected to speak in tongues as well?

I don't think that is a question that should draw laughter from anyone...

I know of people who pray silently in tongues, as if in a vision. I know of one person who related the experience of seeing her words entering the throneroom of heaven in golden script on ribbons of light.

God is awesome and nothing limits Him--not even paralyzed vocal cords.

I know a man well, who recently died, but all his life he suffered with a severe stutter. Very severe. But he was our choir leader for years--and when that man worshiped, he saig clearly without one hesitation! I know that can be a true physiological phenomenon, but in the spiritual--it is definitely a blessing of God.

It was not intended to be funny. My next door neighbor is mute.

It was not you, Colleen. It was the poster who responded with laughter that I was responding yo---my apologies to you, my dear.

could have foold me ax seemes everytime i turn around ppl are putting to much importance on tungs

you are correct, there are some sects that believe that if a person does not speak in tongues, that they have never been saved....

as far as being too much importance on tongues, I am not so sure about that as for as TOO MUCH....

people be askin for healings day in and day out... that should not be something we see only as a once in a while things....Christ even said we would be doing these things and even things that are greater..... when was the last time you witnessed a healing take place, when there was NO HOPE?????

with in the last two years, I have seen, personally seen at least a dozen healings when the person should either be permanantly crippled or dead.... one case, a girl had a tumor that formed in the matter of just a few weeks, where she looked like she was about 6 to 8 months pregnant..... problem is, she was only 2 ...... thats right TWO YEARS OLD....

the tumor had grown around her liver, kidneys and other organs in her tourso... the out look was not good, saturday they called in the family, and said we need to operate asap, and the surgeon could not get her team together for sat, so she arrainged for monday morning...

the surgery was to be a very lengthy surgery, 10 + hours of going in and carefully cutting out the tumor, and then if (IF) the girl pulled through that, when she was strong enough, they would start the chemo and colbult treatments......

that girl had prayers going up for her from many many many places, and people standing in for the girl, having hands laid upon them and prayers going for this girl....

monday, they started cutting on this girl, and just about the time they penitrated the skin, into the stomach cavity, the tumor started coming out the slot that was cut..... they cut a bit more, and allowed the tumor to do all the rest of the work.

with in a short time, the tumor was almost completely outside the girls body, and was no longer around the organs....the girl lost a total amount of flesh/meat of about a quarter size piece where is was attached on one side and then also a small piece on the other side of her body..... she was in surgery for only a couple hours total..... after recovery room, she was taken back to her room.... and the next morning, she was running around in the room... .literally.... NO PAIN NO TUMOR...

and when her grandpa walked in that morning, she ran, almost knocking down another person, and jumped upinto his arms......

she never went through the chemo or cobult ....... she is full y healthy.....

healing should be an every day activity for Christians.... why is it not?

I know why some do not want it..... they do not understand it, and they are scared of it.... it frightens them.... I found it to be fully comforting. also knowing that when I pray, the Holy Spirit is praying with me and for me.... interceeding for me, in my behalf......

do we believe in miricles? I hope so..... I DO..... seen them.... experienced them...... no different then tongues.....

time for bed....

mike

The Word says that tongues are the least of the gifts. Just because that is so, doesn't mean we must discount it, as people are doing. What is being argued is the fact that we all can speak to God in a heavenly tongue in prayer. That is not the ministry-type gift of tongues that is on that list.

the Bible makes no distinction between any sort of tongues. this is a man made thing

What?

It is a Holy Spirit-given tool of communicating to God. No amount of denial or criticism will ever cause the manifestation of Him to cease. He will not be stopped, apart from those who will grieve Him, and He, always sweet and gentle, will simply go on to the next open heart.

there is a Holy Spirit-given tool of communicating with God, but it is not tongues

Indeed, tongues is also.

the Biblical purpose of tongues...

20 Brothers, stop thinking like children. In regard to evil be infants, but in your thinking be adults. 21In the Law it is written:

"Through men of strange tongues

and through the lips of foreigners

I will speak to this people,

but even then they will not listen to me,"says the Lord.

22 Tongues, then, are a sign, not for believers but for unbelievers; prophecy, however, is for believers, not for unbelievers.

No where does the Bible say it is a tool of communicating with God

As Paul constantly prayed in tongues by his own admission and told us to pray in the Spirit at all times, we do so many times in tingues. That is a sign of a believer. That we pray in an unknown language. The Spirit speaks to God for us. What a blessing.

1 Corinthians 14:14-16

4 For if I pray in tongues, my spirit is praying, but I don’t understand what I am saying.

15 Well then, what shall I do? I will pray in the spirit, and I will also pray in words I understand. I will sing in the spirit, and I will also sing in words I understand. 16 For if you praise God only in the spirit, how can those who don’t understand you praise God along with you? How can they join you in giving thanks when they don’t understand what you are saying?

Clearly here, Paul demonstrates that he prays and sings in tongues as well as prays and sings in his native tongue as well. That is the choice of the believer. It is wisdom that tells us to refrain from doing so in the presence of others or even unbelievers fot they wouldn't be able to join in fully in praising our God. Good manners are important.

He says praying ONLY in the spirit (clearly, tongues) is not conducive to sharing with people.

Ephesians 6:18a

Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit,

I thought it interesting to hear of this qestion. Yes they will speak in tongues, for it is not by our own power, just as our sins being taken away is of his (God's) power. I do know of and have met personally many years ago a mute person (also deaf) and YES he also spoke in tongues. You (someone) may ask how is that possible? With man it is impossible, but with God all things are possible.

Jeremiah

I was able to get hold of a computer tofay which is why I am online. Thank the Lord.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
