Bob, no you're not using anything as an excuse.

You're right...but we're weak and we have a High Priest who sympathizes with our weaknes..

I feel free in Christ..free from legalist and rigidity...free to worship, honor, serve and obey in the freedom of love.

It's just flowing like a river...That's all I can say...really. It's an inner revival and a peace and joy unspeakable.

OK Bob,

I admit that I phrased the question wrong.

I should have asked:

Is it possible to get to the point where you don't sin anymore.

You think that the question is something like is it possible for a person to live his/her whole life and never sin once.

That is not the question.

It should be:

Does the blood of Christ, and the power of the Holy Spirit, give us the available means to stop sinning.

Of course we ALL have sinned, that is without question. But does that mean that because of Christ's power that we are still but helpless slaves to sin?

I think not!

Just a question for you all.

Is there anyone here who is now living a sinless life and believes they will not sin again? Please just a yes or no will suffice for an answer.

Thanks for clarifying that dimeministries. As you can tell there is alot of confusion on this thread. Keslc and I are banging our heads against the proverbial wall, cause we are not being understood. We have been called liars, proud and that we are living in denial. Oh Well!

I am not a slave to sin any longer because of the power of the Holy Ghost in my life! I am not any longer some weak little Christian that is blown back and forth (Ephesians 4:14). I am no longer a fence-riding, lukewarm, let the devil run my life Christian. I realize my need for a Saviour and I also realize that He has given me power to resist temptation. I will answer your question, Yes! I believe you can get to a point in your Christian walk where you don't sin anymore. Am I there yet, no. I do believe the Holy Spirit will help me. I can't do it on my own. It will have to be Christ in me! I didn't believe I could get to the point where I wouldn't sin, until I got the baptism of the Holy Spirit (ooooh controversial! :x: ), yep this little Baptist girl from the south is full of the power of the Holy Spirit and now I believe I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO STRENGTHENS ME! PRAISE GOD!:laugh::laugh:

On the contrary, I know exactly what you're talking about. You claim that a person, once saved, can continue to live out the rest of your life without sin. It's called the doctrine of sinless perfection. I have debated this topic before and the truth is, I've never once been given any substantial proof from scripture that one can become sinless; nor have I ever been show where in the Bible it says it is a command.

Ahhh.... this teaching actually has a name. I didn't realize that. Thanks Bob!

-So, I agree...we don't achieve perfection in our own right. But Jesus DOES impute His perfection to our account and we are "hidden in Him"...Thank You Jesus!

-ahhhhhhhhhh-CATS--my-Lady-faire-maam--YOU do have a way with words---

-You are ABSOLUTELY COR-RECT---JESUS IMPARTS-HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS TO US-

-WE HAVE NONE OF OUR OWN RIGHTEOUSNESS--NEITHER CAN WE ACHIEVE A

Gary: I love the Lord with all my heart and am in awe and affection of Him...continually feeling intense gratitude of heart and spirit.

However, I am continually on my face before Him daily to acknowledge my lack.

I cannot think of a day when I could have done something more for Him or perhaps reacted in a way less than perfect.

God is perfect - but I am most definitely NOT!

I haven't met anybody who really was but some who seem to think they are. That's a bit stunning.

One thing that's occurred to me as a believer is that the longer we live, the more genuinely humble we become. We are more and more aware of our "smallness" and God's "bigness".

I feel so tiny and He seems to HUGE...I cannot even BEGIN to compare myself with the Lord Jesus' sinless perfection. I am in AWE of Him!

So, no .....for me, trying to emulate Jesus is a goal but heaven knows I fall pitifully short of being a reflection of Him....but we sure are making steady progress as time goes by.

I just want to say for the record, I am hurt by the way this thread has gone. I think there is a lot of misunderstanding and assumptions and not a lot of listening (reading??) going on.

Cats,

One thing that's occurred to me as a believer is that the longer we live, the more genuinely humble we become. We are more and more aware of our "smallness" and God's "bigness".

I feel so tiny and He seems to HUGE...I cannot even BEGIN to compare myself with the Lord Jesus' sinless perfection. I am in AWE of Him!

When did I disagree with this? I haven't! I agree with you!! I too long to be the person God created me to be, so I try everyday to follow Him with all that is within me! I am very aware and awed by the greatness of our God! As I grow, I learn that I need to keep learning because I will never know it all or have everything right!

Bob,

If we deny our sinful nature, how can we turn from our sins ? How will you recognize your need to repent if you don't admit your faults ? By saying you believe you can live sinless on earth is to deny your need for forgiveness. I don't think 1 John 1:8-10 leaves you any other stance to take but to admit that you do sin....and you do sin often...I know I do.

When did I deny I had faults or refuse to be repentent? I haven't! I agree that forgiveness needs to be sought for the wrongs we have done, do or will do. I never disagreed with that. I however do not hold to "I sin often". I know I try to live my life in obedience, yes, I make mistakes, I stumble too, I am not perfect, I know the Lord convicts me when I am wrong and I ask my Fathers forgiveness. My only point in all of this is we do not need to continue in deliberate, rebellious sin against God, because when we are His children He gives us tools to escape from sin. I do not subscribe to whatever doctrine you believe I believe. Please read through my posts again this time without the biases you brought to the discussion because of previous discussions you have had. I think you'll see I actually agree with much of what you have said. I was only trying to make an added point that christians should not be passive about sin either. Not disputing what you have said.

Honestly, I feel unfairly attacked because what I have said has been taken the wrong way based on preconcieved notions of doctrines which people thought I was promoting, when I wasn't (please read my posts openly). I apologize if I have hurt anyone else by anything I said. Please forgive me, I do not want to hurt people.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
