Revelation 3:5 "... and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life..."

The implication is that there are conditions where Jesus will blot out names... He obviously does have an eraser.

The key here is given as those who overcome, and how do we do that?

I reckon that I should have given the whole verse. Revelation 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

I just find it amusing that there are those who see GOD looking down through time and space, sees someone make a choice for JESUS, but does not see them unchoose JESUS so that HE would have to erase the name that was written in a book sealed before the foundations of the Earth.

:P

Could it be that those who "choose" to walk away or un-choose Jesus never had him in the first place. Perhaps their name was never written in the Lamb's Book of Life? Couldn't it be that if one chooses Christ with all their heart, soul and mind, one who gives up his life for Christ, cannot walk away from Him?

Then this should really amuse you:

John 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you

John 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any [man] pluck them out of my hand. (You can't pluck yourself out either)

John 10:29 My Father, which gave [them] me, is greater than all; and no [man] is able to pluck [them] out of my Father's hand. (Notice in this verse that we have been given to Jesus by our Father)

John 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. (We were given to Jesus and we did come to Him, and He will not cast us out for any reason regardless of our failures)

Both of those posts I disagree with 100%

Just so you know that there are both sides to this issue.

OK, while I was typing a post was added that would have made the above post more confusing.

We are choosen before creation by GOD for HIS purpose in accordance with HIS will and once you are in HIS hand HE will in no-wise let you go. HE will always do what is best for you if you like it or not and that includes keeping you saved and sealed until the day of redemption.

Unless you turn away from your salvation. He is not about to override our will.

It will always amaze me that you think GOD does not care enough about you to keep you saved.

We have a responsibility to obey God. That is what proves our heart condition before Him. He looks on the heart eben though we can fool men. He tells us that we will not enter the Kingdom of heaven if we are not obedient. His words, not mine.

It always amazes me that you think that a person that doesn't care about God enough to remain Jesus' disciple expects to be found worthy of heaven.

Why wouild Jesus have the option to "blot out", then? He doesn't talk about things He cannot do.

seems to me that one that does not care about God enough to remain Jesus' disciple, never really was Jesus' disciple to begin with.

And God knows who they are. Many are merely religious people. However there are those who know God intimately, yet walk away purposely. It behooves us to be sure we know Jesus Christ and obey Him.

Matthew 7:21-27

“Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.’ But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.’

Building on a Solid Foundation

“Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock. But anyone who hears my teaching and doesn’t obey it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand. When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will collapse with a mighty crash.”

he does not have a blot out option, he told us what he would never do "I will never blot out his name". this does not sound like an option to me

He has a blot capability, obviously.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
