Stormy, if one is experiencing a false salvation experience, the dark side will make all kinds of things happen to keep one there.

This is an excerpt from Albert Barnes commentary. I hope you find it helpful.

" Accordingly, many may be found in the day of judgement who may have been endowed with powers of prophesy, or miricles, as Balaam, or the magicians of Egypt; in the same way as many men of distinguished talents may be found yet destitute of piety and shut out of His kingdom.

1) I thought no one could cast out demons and perform wonders without Jesus because it is Jesus who casts out demon and performs wonders. I know there are false prophets, but demons don't run from themselves (A house divided will fall), and it is only God through His child that wonders are performed. "Wonders" can't be faked. How can anyone do such things without God's will and power behind it?

Matthew 24

24 For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.

2 Thess. 2

9 The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders,

2 Corinthians 11

14 And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.

15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.

Matthew 7:21-23 is not about false prophets, these people were not trying to deceive Jesus they truly believe themselve to be ''saved'' or ''christians''. As far as your question did they know they were practicing ''lawlessness''? Probalbly, however today in many churches and even in this forum it is taught you can continue in sin after salvation and you will still go to heaven, this belief is called Eternal security or Once Saved Always Saved or OSAS. This teaching is why people will fully believe themselves to be saved just to find out on judgment day that because of their refusal to stop serving sin and start serving christ they will be condemned to and eternity in hell.

I believe I am always saved and that I will not be "born again" unto salvation a second time, only rescued from my own mistakes as I follow the steps my Lord has ordered for me to walk. I do not believe the idea of OSAS gives me "license" to practice lawlessness. I do have liberty, yes--for where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty. But liberty and "license" are two very different things. The desire the new birth puts within me longs for the things that please God, and wars against the flesh still hanging on "for dear life", as it were. But I am definitely once saved, and always saved. I never knew how to save myself in the first place, let alone how to keep myself saved; but my Savior does. I trust in Him that He knows what He's doing (even when, admittedly, most of the time I don't). I trust, therefore, that my salvation is "safe", simply because I know in Whom I entrust it to.

Well the problem is that the context says otherwise.

The line of thought begins at Matthew 7:15 which Jesus begins explaining how to tell the difference between false prophtets and true prophets. He uses the anology of trees bearing good and evil fruit. He is referring to the fruit of false prophet will be the evidence that He is indeed false.

These false prohets according Matthew 7:22 will claim to have prophesied in His Name and Jesus will reject them has having never knew them. It is talking about false prophets.

Copy and paste where anyone on this board has made such an assertion. I challenge you to provide one scrap of evidence to back up that accusation.

1st of all I didn't say people on these boards have taught this, I said many churches do and they do.

You said it was taught "even in this forum." So I am interested where in this forum it has been taught.

Secondly, OSAS does not teach that you can continue in sin. That is a false value that people like you erect becaue you don't understand firstly that there is no such doctrine as "OSAS." It is called eternal security. Secondly, what we teach is not that you can just continue in sin as much as you want and still be saved. What we teach is that you don't have to get resaved every time you do sin.

However I believe you many believe that once you get saved you are on your way to heaven no matter what you do, you can do nothing to loose, give back or forfeit your salvation.
This is just another case of someone who just enough about a subject to be dangerous.

What we teach is that if you are truly saved you won't WANT to continue living in sin and certainly would not want to forfeiet salvation. We teach that salvation is an inward transformations. There should be no danger of "sinning as much as you want to" because when you get saved, you get a new set of "want to's" If a person "gets saved" but has no demonstrable desire to serve Christ, if there was no transformation, their profession of faith is fraudulent.

A true Christian isn't looking for way to sin. He might stumble in a sincere attempt at serving the Lord, but he doesn't have to live in fear that every sin He commits is a nail in his coffin. He can simply confess his sin and keep on serving Christ.

Eze.33, your problem is that you are not qualified to explain what people like me believe. Frankly, you don't know enough about it to correctly frame our position.

lol....No such teaching as OSAS, that is a laugh.

OSAS is a label that assigns a false value to Eternal Security. It is assigned by those who want to cast a false light on the doctrine. Basically people like you put the lie in our mouths and then argue against it.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
