What did Lot do to cope with living in Sodom and Gomorrah?

Lot shouldn't have been living there at all. :emot-pray: His Uncle set a fine example he just chose to ignore him.

Peace,

Dave

Neb, if I lived in Detroit or Chicago I would be in my bunker...... and if any of you all live there, I'd get one. They riot there when their sports teams win big, God only knows what they will do at either place no matter which way it goes.

Chicago has not had a sports team riot when their teams win. That is propbably because it does not happen that often

If Obama wins, Mexico may need to bolster its border patrol to catch Americans trying to sneak across the Rio Grande.

I for one, will simply keep walking close to Jesus no matter what happens. He, not the government, is my source of supply.

Habakkuk 3

OK, last night I didn't have time to write my explanation.

I believe that Obama and the Democrats will make things very, very bad for America. People are persecuted for speaking Obama's middle name (Hussein). Opponents have been smeared beyond belief ("Joe the Plumber" asks a question, Obama gives an answer that makes Obama look bad, and a couple days later the headlines try to smear Joe in an attempt to invalidate Obama's response!) I could say more on this end, but I don't want to get distracted from the point.

Just remember that the next president and congress will be appointing several new Supreme Court members. Need I explain the severity and consequences of this?

Unlike the end of the 70's (the Carter era), our nation is actually threatened by those who want to bring us down and are not afraid to start a nuclear war . . . Akminadjab (sp?) actually wants to start a nuclear war.

So, to be honest about how I feel - I'm terrified. I love my country. I don't want to be around to see her fall. :th_praying:

My gut feeling is that if Obama wins, it will mean the beginning of God's judgment on this nation. Oh, we deserve it! Many intercessors have been praying for God's mercy, though. But if the majority of voters put a man in the presidency who has the kind of record Obama has . . . our goose is cooked.

But the Lord has been impressing on my heart that I am not to give in to fear and depression. Like Ezekiel when he lost his wife, I am not even to mourn should things go all bad. He wants me rejoicing in Him.

Sure, I can fall on the "God is in control" thing . . . but like watching an approaching category 5 hurricane coming towards you and your home . . . one can only speculate what "God is in control" will actually manifest itself in . . . He may decide to take away things I don't want to lose . . . .

But like Habakkuk who had his own struggle with God, in the end he cried out, "Though [all is lost and all goes wrong], yet will I praise You, I will joy in the God of my salvation!"

And this is what I must do.

"Though there's pain in the offering

Blessed be Your name . . .

When the darkness closes in, Lord,

Still I will say

'Blessed be the name of the Lord!'"

All one has to do is look at God's word to see how kingdoms rose and fell, depending on the good king vs bad king, with tumultuous times in between. Yet, still the Lord brought His people through - even if put through the refining fires - to come out the other side stronger, and closer to Him.

One day, it will all end. No matter who we vote for, what we stand for, or where we live. Our focus should be in lifting up the name of Jesus for all the nations, all the lost, all the hurting, all the scared - lift that name up just like Moses did that brass serpent on a pole. Therein lies our salvation and our hope.

I agree with this completely. I am an American by my natural birth, which has an end--therefore my American citizenship will end someday. I am a Christian by my rebirth, which is of the Holy Spirit, Who is alive forever, which makes me alive forever right now (the only change I'll see is that I'll someday have another body--a real good deal as far as I'm concerned since this one is pretty-well worn slap-dab out by now).

I know some folx do this, and it's between them and God as to why they do it--but for myself, anyway, I'm hesitant to get my patriotism mixed in as an intregal part of my faith. The world my permanent and everlasting citizenship is in is not in this world; I never have found anything in God's Word to indicate that it's a Christian's duty to make this world a better place to "leave".

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
