No, I never said that. Did you read the rest of my post? I wasn't giving excuses, just reasons.

Okay, just clarifying!

Stay with it! Keep your prayers simple and in your own words. Trust in the Lord to help you.

Spiritual maturity will come. I have grown so much, yet still find myself stuck at times.

I don't know if it is about spiritual maturity. I have been a believer for 7 years.

You have to choose who you will serve. If your not living for God then you are living for Satan. Let's face it, underage drinking is a sin. It's breaking the rules that the government has set forth. We won't get on the topic of drinking when you are of age...don't want to start that. The best way to avoid doing this is not to put yourself in situations where you will be tempted. That can be hard. It can mean a change in friends, not having anything to do on a friday night etc.

As far as prayer goes just remember that prayer is not always blocking out time and getting on your knees.

I know who I serve. I love God. I know it is a sin, but I still like to do it, I shouldn't like to. I should like to obey God. I should like to pray. I don't like to pray. I hate being like this though, but I can't fix it. I really do love God.

I am gonna just tell you the plain truth, if there is any sin in your life, when you do pray it will be like talking to the wall. I know this from experience. You are going to need to truly repent of all your sin, in order to move forward in Christ. How long one is saved is not a sign of spiritual maturity. Having the fruit of the spirit is a sign of maturity, along with wisdom and a deep desire for holiness and to please God. We must absorb ourselves in God's word and live a life for him and forsake all pleasures of this evil world and keep our eyes focused on the eternal.

God Bless

What I am saying is that if you are not serving God then the only person you could be serving is Satan. You have to decide if you are going to forego a right relationship with God for a glass of alcohol...if I'm being blunt. I am not trying to come down on you because I myself am not perfect and struggle with sin daily. It's matter of giving it over to God and letting the Holy Spirit control you.

Called shared great advise and insight as well...

By the way, your right, you can't fix it but a humble heart before the Lord and a true desire to change...God can fix it! Don't give up!

I don't know if it is about spiritual maturity. I have been a believer for 7 years.

The things that you speak of, praying and reading are the very basics and yet the very foundation in which our faith is built. You say you've been a believer for 7 years, yet you don't like to read or pray yet you claim you love God.

We can gauge our love for God by the time we spend in prayer, in reading, and living obediently. Yet you say you hate to do all of these things. These are the very basics in our walk with the Lord and in 7 years you haven't gone too far have you. However.....there is a glimmer of hope - you recognize this as a problem and it is a big problem. You must really examine yourself, acknowledge that you are still somewhat in this world, ask yourself why. You must make a decision for Christ or the world and remember you are not guaranteed tomorrow. Is your heart sincere or are you doing it to avoid hell? I don't mean to sound harsh but I can't dance around this issue either - this is serious because we're talking about a soul here....yours.There is so much to say on this subject but I'm not trying to write a book either. So if you'd like, pm me anytime and I'll tell you more.

Blessings,

bpc

I felt the same way you do. I also enjoyed drinking alchol, and I always felt bad when I was and after the fact. The fact is since I was young I struggled with this same weakness. Until one day I ended up in the hospital for overdoing it. I know from personal experience that when we are not walking where God wants us to walk that He will eventually get us to a place where we are ready to listen. For me that was a hospital bed.

I too thought I couldn't fix it. But I could with God's strength. Phil. 4:13. I have a friend who is very mature in the Lord, talking with her about this, and having her pray for me helps too. Seek out godly mature christians who will encourage your walk with the Lord. And also remeber that the fact that you hate being like this is conviction from the Lord. He wants you to act on that, and ask Him for help. He loves you too.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
