Okay KMB got a hold of me.  Here is a verse that my husband thinks I should memorize that deals with sex within marriage.  :D

Now for the matters you wrote about: It is good for a man not to marry.  But since there is so much immorality, each man should have his own wife, and each woman her own husband. The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband.  The wife's body does not belong to her alone but also to her husband. In the same way, the husband's body does not belong to him alone but also to his wife.  Do not deprive each other except by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control. I say this as a concession, not as a command.

Corinthians 7:1-6

I hope this helps!

I agree with nebula. Some forms of religion don't believe in cutting your hair, wearing makeup etc. I think if you are dressed modestly (no daisy dukes, tummy t's etc) and wear make-up to enhance your beauty then you are fine...sorry don't know of any specific verses.

As far as the whole submission thing is concerned, the main verse is in Colossians 3:18 which simply states for wives to submit to their husbands because it is fitting to the Lord. There are other verses that speak to this as well. Alot of times men take this out of context. Marital decisions should be made with both partner's opinions being taken into consideration but ultimately the man makes the decision and answers to God for his decision. The only time that you would not submit to your husband would be if it is something that is contrary to God's word. Might I also take this opportunity to say that this is why it is so important for us wives to lift our husbands up to the Lord in prayer!

Some other good passages to read is found in 1Peter 3:1-8

good post! I agree!

Hey, nothing wrong with moles. I got 'em too. Concentrate more on how God will use us if we let Him. Nothing is more beautiful than a person that glows from God's love.

nothing but Christ himself :D but yeah outer appearance honestly means NOTHING in the scheme of things... the body you are in is but a temporary vessel and shall be shed for a perfect body in heaven

There's nothing wrong with wearing make-up at all. Just don't put on so much that it looks like you put it on with a putty knife. The inner appearance is what matters to God. Wear make-up modestly if you want to wear make-up.

kmb... most women can live without sex? huh? i've never met a woman who could happily live without sex, except maybe my mother, LOL. well, and any woman going through menopause! God created us ALL as sexual beings... men and women alike!

annabelle, the way you worded it makes me wonder, and if you've answered this later in another post, forgive me, i haven't read them all yet. but do you look at sex as only an obligation? i'm not trying to make you uncomfortable, really... i'm just thinking that if you find no joy in sexual intimacy with your husband, there must be an underlying cause that perhaps some counseling could help you with.

sexual intimacy is the most wonderful of all the gifts God gave to married couples. it's meant not just for reproduction, but for pleasure... the woman's pleasure AND the man's pleasure, which is why God is so clear that men are likewise not deny their wives sexual fulfillment.

now, i'm probably getting ahead of myself here since i don't know your circumstances, but.... you said you're 44 years old, and because i'm not sure from your post if you actually desire your husband. i'm only 39, and am going through peri-menopause... a while back i posted a thread on this subject, very confused because i would CRINGE when my husband would touch me... i'd often start bawling my eyes out just because he wanted sex, and i had zero desire anymore. i have one word for that situation...

ESTROVAN!!!!

i can't even begin to tell you how helpful estrovan has been. i have desire, my body responds, and fulfillment is not only possible, it is predictable. FINALLY! it's also done wonders for those nasty little hot flashes and dozens of other little annoying symptoms of menopause that i was beginning to experience.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
