Hi my name is Josh and I'm 17. I want to witness and share Christianity with people because I've never tried it before but I don't have any non-christian friends. Do I just walk up to someone on the street and say "Be a Christian"? and then walk away? Where can I tell people about God? :(

Josh,

Bless you for wanting to share the Gospel!

One way to begin this is to seek out the soul-winning group in your church. If your church doesn't have one- seek another church! (but that's another subject).

A good soul-winning ministry will have people that can show you just how to approach the subject with people.

I've found that just coming up to people on the street and rushing into the subject causes most of them to run the other way!

Get involved with those that do it on a regular basis and they will help. Try going out with them and observing what they do.

I hope you will not be discouraged in this. Most people you will meet will not be open to the Gospel of Christ at first. Keep at it and never forget that there ARE those that are waiting for you to enter their lives with the Good News!

Well actually this may sound sort of weird but I've never been to church, I know a few churches around me but I never have enough time to go. I just like to stay home and play video games :(. I was just wondering if there was an easier way.

Greetings Slimshady,

Joshua 1:8-9 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. 9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

Consider that "this book of the law" now means the WHOLE Bible:

2 Timothy 3:16-17 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Blessings,

Dad Ernie

One technique is called the Romans Road to Salvation and goes pretty much like this (with some variations in verses):

1. Show the person that they are a sinner. Show them how also (through man's fall in the Garden of Eden. (Romans 3:10, 3:23, 5:12)

2. Show them that there is a penalty for sin (Romans 6:23)

3. Show them that Jesus died on the cross for us to pay for our sins. He was the sacrificial Lamb sent by God to pay our sin debt. And that we could never do enough to pay this debt. It is by God's Grace, not our own works. (Eph 2:5,8-9)

4. Show them that all who call on His name (Jesus) will be Saved!(Rev 3:20, Romans 10:9,13)

5. Show them that your Salvation is eternal. (1John 5:13)

6. Why did God do this for us? Read to them John 3:16!

I'm not an expert, by any means, but I hope this will help you along the way. It's just one technique among many. Your own testimony will help also.

Good luck!

t.

I hope that you will find a church worthy of your walk in Christ soon. No offence, but video games wil not help you in your walk! (I know, I play some myself).

I could give you my own views on which type of church to seek out, but I'm afraid that it will open up this thread to alot of debate.

Just try to read and understand the Bible the best you can and look at what a church is doing. Does it match up to what the Bible says?

Mmmmmm.....

Hey slim-

There's a good website that you should go to that has some good resources.

http://www.thewayofthemaster.com/

You can learn how to witness using the 10 Commandments, which I think is extremely effective when people tell you "I'm a good person"

About the church thing- you really should find time to go to church (isn't church more important than video games? :x: ) I actually attend 2- one in my hometown and one that is 1 1/2 away (not in the same day of course!). Church really does strengthen your walk and it's fun to fellowship with other children of God! We're going to be together in Heaven- may as well get used to each other now!

Slimshadyjb,

I think it is great that you want to share your faith. Your witnessing strategy should have a couple elements...one shared by ted founded in scripture but also two, incorporate what God has done in your life, how you were a sinner and accepted Him into your life. Some of those that you will come in contact with will want to argee the bible or question the validity of it etc but they cannot argue against what God has done in your life.

Also I agree that you should find a church that can help you as well. Being involved in church is important for alot of reasons. Alot of churches also have classes that they offer on how to share your faith. It can be scary to share your faith and taking a class will help you learn more about how to do it and make you more comfortable.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
