I have a question:

How do I know that it's the will of God for me to do things like taking a shower, or hanging with friends, or playing a board game, or doing anything which people normally do in a day? Is it enough to say, "The bible doesn't say anything against this, so it must be fine" ?

I know that we should always seek the will of God first and foremost, but I get confused: does this mean we should ask whether it's the will of God for us to do every action in life?

Believe me, it's the Will of God for you to take a shower. :th_praying:

As for the other things, if you have an uneasy feeling about it (no peace), then He might be steering you in another direction. (i.e. hanging around friends who are a bad influence). Proverbs 3:5-6 comes to mind . . . "...in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths." It's good to keep Him foremost in our mind and He'll keep us on His path, rather than a rabbit trail. (He probably doesn't care though if you buy the blue or the brown sweater)

By all means, it is God's will for you to shower. Yes, we can see evidence of this in God's word (the Bronze Laver in Tabernacle for instance, David after not eating or bathing before the death of his son cleaned himself before going before God, etc). So, showers are good! Now, hanging with friends and playing games, well that depends upon the friends and the games. Anything that comes between you and God is not good. If your friends are leading you away from God, then you need to examine your friendships (and lead them toward God) and what games are you playing? Are you playing "Dungeons and Dragons" and/or violent video games? Just be sure that you don't put anything before God.

For the most part, I repeat, for the most part God is not so concerned with the incidentals. He is concerned with the person to the extent that that person is being conformed to the image of Christ. Is the fruit of the Spirit being produced in your life? Are you thankful? Do you see God's hand in everything working together FOR your good? etc.

I don't think God has a will for EVERYTHING, like whether we eat pancakes or waffles for breakfast, but something like taking a shower, which is necessary to avoid offending those whom you may need to witness to, is most certainly within the will of God. It's our cultural standard to be clean, and we must not purposefully offend.

Whatsoever things are pure, whatsover things are holy and a few more (think and do these things). I would recomened showing if you like people to be around. If you do not like people then I guess go around stinking!

Pretty simple!

I could be wrong, but I think you may be confusing G-d's will with G-ds teachings and activities of daily living.

Taking a shower, playing a board game or hanging out with certain people can and should all be governed by G-ds teachings, all of which can be found in the bible.

As to what is G-d's will....well I think thats a huge subject and I don't believe I'm qualified to say what His will might or might not be.

I know that G-d is concerned with my behavior as a Christian, because what I do or don't do reflects upon Him.

So maybe one could say that it is G-ds will that I behave myself in such a fashion, based on His teachings, as to be an example of how wonderful life can be as one of His children.

If you are uneasy or feel convicted about an action or thought, it is the Holy Spirit leading. If you think it might be sin, then it is a sin for you. JMO.

Use the Word of God to know the will of God on lifes basic dicesions and even important ones but for life changing decisions prayer and fasting is best.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
