I love when Lennon on acid made a trip to Bardot (symbol of beauty), his idol from his teens. She met him but since he was out of his mind, he asked her to give him some time, so he could wrote a song for her. She was not pleased but left thinking, it was not a total waste. She came back seeing John sprawled out on the floor sleeping with beer bottles all over the place. His dream was slept away. He was very human and funny unintentionally (at times).

Hi Oak!!!!

First let me say that I pray your surgery goes well and that the Lord would guide the surgeons hands and grant you a complete recovery.

Secondly, I love your post! I am a huge fan of the Beatles and John lennon imparticular.

When I was a young man I had all of the Beatles albums and any other albums dealing wioth them. Such as interviews recorded on Lp. I also tried to imitate Lennons art and specifically poetry of which I had some success with the latter. I actually got a scholarship to college from my poetry . But alas, I partied my way out rather quickly.

Being 40 myself now I can seriously relate to how yound john was when he was murdered and the enormous scope of what he accomplished in this short time on Earth. I was devestated the day he died. My Mom even let me stay home from school because I was such a mess.

I am a researcher and a retired attorney.

What I got from the pages of the book for which I left a link to was that the author, at the time he had the diaries, was not authorized to have the diary by Yoko.

He also claims that much of the time in which he and his partner were discussing Lennon they were under the influence of drugs.

He also talks about the state of mind he would get himself into..... alternate states because of drugs which were descriptive of being in a trance. The way he speaks it comes across as if he believes he is in some way channeling Lennon.

He also says that his home was ransacked and the diaries disappeared.

He also states that it was years after he no longer had the diary that he wrote his book. This he does from his own memories and notes.

He further states that much of his information was told to him by his partner in crime as he never met Lennon himself.

All in all such research does not stand up. He can not provide the original source...the diary. His information from his partner is hearsay. The book was written years after the diary was in his possession...time often causes memories and impressions to change. Drugs were in heavy use during the time the said research was conducted. There was a plot to write a book from the beginning and the financial reward was huge...the more sensational the more profit.

When taking all these factors into account the book becomes very suspect.
