  1. Some literal translations: Young's, Green and Zeolla. Mat 6:10 YLT 'Thy reign come: Thy will come to pass, as in heaven also on the earth. Mat 6:10 LITV Your kingdom come; Your will be done, as it is in Heaven, also on the earth. Mat 6:10 ALT3 Let Your kingdom come. Let Your will be done, as in heaven [so] also on the earth.
  2. List the things that you do like about him. Tell him the things you admire about him and tell him how thankful you are for him. He may be an introverted person who just wants peace and quiet when he gets home. It is your job to appreciate him and meet his emotional needs. Perhaps he will take more interest in time as well and communicate more. 1Pe 3:1 AMP -- IN LIKE manner, you married women, be submissive to your own husbands [subordinate yourselves as being secondary to and dependent on them, and adapt yourselves to them], so that even if any do not obey the Word [of God], they may be won over not by discussion but by the [godly] lives of their wives, 1Pe 3:2 When they observe the pure and modest way in which you conduct yourselves, together with your reverence [for your husband; you are to feel for him all that reverence includes: to respect, defer to, revere him—to honor, esteem, appreciate, prize, and, in the human sense, to adore him, that is, to admire, praise, be devoted to, deeply love, and enjoy your husband].
  3. Joh 15:3 AMP You are cleansed and pruned already, because of the word which I have given you [the teachings I have discussed with you]. Joh 15:4 Dwell in Me, and I will dwell in you. [Live in Me, and I will live in you.] Just as no branch can bear fruit of itself without abiding in (being vitally united to) the vine, neither can you bear fruit unless you abide in Me. Joh 15:5 I am the Vine; you are the branches. Whoever lives in Me and I in him bears much (abundant) fruit. However, apart from Me [cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing.
  4. It is fulfilling, overflowing, and full of contentment. It contains an abundance of fruit of the Spirit-- Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Gal 5:23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
  5. I call this one wisdom, even a Solomon was given wisdom to know which was the true mother of the child--the one that would spare its life. It is God showing us what to do in a given situation. It never goes against Scripture. It is governed by love.
  6. Come to God just as you are and call out to God for His help. You can't change yourself but God can. He starts by changing our desires so that we hate the life of sin and desire to be like Christ. Then He enters into us and starts cleansing us. It is His job, not ours. We are not to resist His work in us but just humble ourselves. Only God is good. And He comes to live in us. Surrender every part of your life to His cleansing light. Rom 5:6 For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. Rom 5:7 For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— Rom 5:8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Rom 5:9 Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. Rom 5:10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. Rom 5:11 More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.
  7. As always, it has to do with employers paying for benefits. Especially small businesses are hit hard by this, and there are more benefits like sick pay and fewer loop holes. I have several grandsons working several part time jobs in an effort to work they way through college and pay for their drivers insurance.
  8. I understand your problem. I usually talk to God as my heavenly Daddy and my friend. But when He chastened me I found myself outside of that tender relationship. He chastened me so that I would not be lost through self righteousness and pride, and it was definitely for my good. Fear of losing that tender relationship makes me think twice before sinning now, and I frequently do attitude checks and ask God if their is sin in my heart. I remember my own dad giving me a good spanking when he thought I was stealing from him. Yes, my mom often spanked me but when my dad did it I was sure I was not going to survive. The difference between God's chastening and abuse is that His chastening is for our good. Abuse is to vent the anger or hatred of the the abuser. God doesn't do that to His kids. He eventually will avenge His kids of all the wrongs done to them as well as all who have rejected His salvation. That also will be much different than the way He treats us. Heb 12:6 For the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and chastises every son whom he receives." Heb 12:7 It is for discipline that you have to endure. God is treating you as sons. For what son is there whom his father does not discipline? Heb 12:8 If you are left without discipline, in which all have participated, then you are illegitimate children and not sons. Heb 12:9 Besides this, we have had earthly fathers who disciplined us and we respected them. Shall we not much more be subject to the Father of spirits and live? Heb 12:10 For they disciplined us for a short time as it seemed best to them, but he disciplines us for our good, that we may share his holiness. Heb 12:11 For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it. Heb 12:12 Therefore lift your drooping hands and strengthen your weak knees, Heb 12:13 and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be put out of joint but rather be healed.
  9. Wise men from the east (magoi apo anatolōn). The etymology of Magi is quite uncertain. It may come from the same Indo-European root as (megas) magnus, though some find it of Babylonian origin. Herodotus speaks of a tribe of Magi among the Medians. Among the Persians there was a priestly caste of Magi like the Chaldeans in Babylon (Dan 1:4). Daniel was head of such an order (Dan 2:48). It is the same word as our “magician” and it sometimes carried that idea as in the case of Simon Magus (Act 8:9, Act 8:11) and of Elymas Barjesus (Act 13:6, Act 13:8). But here in Matthew the idea seems to be rather that of astrologers. Babylon was the home of astrology, but we only know that the men were from the east whether Arabia, Babylon, Persia, or elsewhere. (Robertson's Word Pictures) Daniel was placed in this order because he had interpreted the king's dream. However, he probably taught the predictions in the Bible concerning the coming Messiah to those under him. I don't believe the actions of heathen magi in any way endorses the practice of astrology because those in Israel who practiced this were to to be cast out or put to death. It was because of these evil practices that the Baal (sun/fertility god) worshippers of the Promised Land were to be destroyed and displaced by Israel. Mat 2:1 Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, Mat 2:2 saying, "Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him." Mat 2:3 When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. Mat 2:4 And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he inquired of them where the Christ was to be born. Mat 2:5 So they said to him, "In Bethlehem of Judea, for thus it is written by the prophet: Mat 2:6 'BUT YOU, BETHLEHEM, IN THE LAND OF JUDAH, ARE NOT THE LEAST AMONG THE RULERS OF JUDAH; FOR OUT OF YOU SHALL COME A RULER WHO WILL SHEPHERD MY PEOPLE ISRAEL.' " Mat 2:7 Then Herod, when he had secretly called the wise men, determined from them what time the star appeared. Mat 2:8 And he sent them to Bethlehem and said, "Go and search carefully for the young Child, and when you have found Him, bring back word to me, that I may come and worship Him also." Mat 2:9 When they heard the king, they departed; and behold, the star which they had seen in the East went before them, till it came and stood over where the young Child was.Mat 2:10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy. Mat 2:11 And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
  10. Dying to self is the most painful part of the Christian walk. But it is entirely necessary, and is sometimes an ongoing process. John the Baptist said that I must decrease the He might increase. While he was speaking of his ministry, we all can say it in dying to our wills and allowing God's will to be done in us. Jesus said "not my will but Thine be done!" when he was going to the cross. It is because of His death that we live. And it is by dying to our own desires that He is able to live in us. What you are not able to do in your own strength, Christ in you is able to do. Once I was a lot like you, but God changed me as I forced myself to reach out to others and become interested in their lives. Reach out to someone who needs a friend. That is what Jesus did. Become less an introvert; Less shy and fearful; till you care more about what God thinks than what people think of you. It hurts to be rejected and ridiculed. But that is the life that Christ led as well. So we identify with His sufferings. And we are promised that others will treat us they way they treated Jesus. Mat 5:3 "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Mat 5:4 "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Mat 5:5 "Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. Mat 5:6 "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. Mat 5:7 "Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy. Mat 5:8 "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. Mat 5:9 "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. Mat 5:10 "Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Mat 5:11 "Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Mat 5:12 Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

  12. Jesus prayed that we be one in the Spirit, having love for one another. Do you know what this means? Jhn 13:35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. rom/13/8/ Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. gal 5:13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. 1Th 4:9 But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another. 1Jo 3:11 For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. 1Jo 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. Joh 17:20 "I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, Joh 17:21 that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me. Joh 17:22 The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, Joh 17:23 I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me. Pray that people see your love for other Christians so that they may know that you are a genuine Christian. Many only see your hatered for the worldly ecumenical movement that deletes adherence to Scripture and creeds for the sake of unity on paper or to come under the Roman church.. While we should hate evil, people should be able to see the love of Christ in all of us.
  13. I never found anything wrong with his message either. The Holy Spirit used it to save millions. I wish that could be said of myself.
  14. It seems this is not necessarily so. An evil conscience cannot be synonymous with God, nor can one that is defiled. Heb 10:22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.
  15. I never thought of waiting on the Lord as waiting for the the Lord. It is an act of service or of a servant, such as a waiter. I wait for His guidance or His requests of me.
  16. Welcome to Worthy, God is with her. I have danced folk dances in 2 different churches. Once it was American square dancing done in a recreation hall, and once it was Jewish folk dances in a sanctuary.. Dancing that in not sensual in nature should be OK. Dancing before the Lord should be OK. David danced before the Lord. I don't think that it should be a form of entertainment for onlookers if it is part of a worship service. 2Sa 6:14 And David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod. Psa 150:3 Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet; Praise Him with the lute and harp! Psa 150:4 Praise Him with the timbrel and dance; Praise Him with stringed instruments and flutes! Psa 150:5 Praise Him with loud cymbals; Praise Him with clashing cymbals!
  17. There is no law against telling others about answers to prayer and the good things God does to change us to be more like Jesus. We don't have to be hateful toward anyone--God loves us in spite of out sins, but wants to deliver us from the kingdom of darkness. It is the Holy Spirit's job to convict, not ours. So at this point we are still free to testify. However, I was not allowed to do so on the job. So I waited for people to ask, and they always did. Many hated me without my saying a word. So I avoided working with them if I could. I did encourage people to go to the church of their choice but mentioned a few good ones in our area and not necessarily my own. Unfortunately, when cornered we are not even allowed to disagree concerning sexual stuff, even as a conscientious objector.
  18. Rom 11:17 But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, although a wild olive shoot, were grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing root of the olive tree, Rom 11:18 do not be arrogant toward the branches. If you are, remember it is not you who support the root, but the root that supports you. Rom 11:19 Then you will say, "Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in." Rom 11:20 That is true. They were broken off because of their unbelief, but you stand fast through faith. So do not become proud, but fear. Rom 11:21 For if God did not spare the natural branches, neither will he spare you. Rom 11:22 Note then the kindness and the severity of God: severity toward those who have fallen, but God's kindness to you, provided you continue in his kindness. Otherwise you too will be cut off. Rom 11:23 And even they, if they do not continue in their unbelief, will be grafted in, for God has the power to graft them in again. Rom 11:24 For if you were cut from what is by nature a wild olive tree, and grafted, contrary to nature, into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, the natural branches, be grafted back into their own olive tree. Rom 11:25 Lest you be wise in your own sight, I do not want you to be unaware of this mystery, brothers: a partial hardening has come upon Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. Rom 11:26 And in this way all Israel will be saved, as it is written, "The Deliverer will come from Zion, he will banish ungodliness from Jacob"; Rom 11:27 "and this will be my covenant with them when I take away their sins." Rom 11:28 As regards the gospel, they are enemies for your sake. But as regards election, they are beloved for the sake of their forefathers. Rom 11:29 For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.
  19. My friend also has demonic dreams. But she has not renounced the occult, and has in the past been in Karate, TM, yoga, and other eastern religions. Foretelling the future is part of the occult. She believes Jesus died for her sins but cannot say Jesus is Lord of her life. She seeks advice from her dead parents. She says her religion works for her even if it isn't just like mine. She does not believe the Bible or that there is a hell. So if any of this sound like something you believe or have experienced, I can only tell you that you need to have nothing to do with other religions or beliefs that are not biblical and all false doctrine. Believing the lies of the enemy keeps you bound by the enemy. When Jesus sets you free you are free indeed and are not tormented by the enemy with divination. Repenting is turning away from all the works of darkness to receive Christ into your life.
  20. David was a Shepherd and He was comparing God to a Shepherd and His sheep to us. He is describing how God protects us from our enemies and even provides for us lavishly in spite of their presence. We have no need to fear. We can rely on God so we are able to enjoy all He does for us. In His Presence we find peace and contentment. It reminds me of Jesus telling the woman at the well that had she known Who He is, she would but ask and rivers of living water would pour forth from her. He was speaking of the Holy Spirit. God is our portion and our abundance. He is our anointing oil and our cup that overflows. His presence makes our life abundant and fulfilling in spite of adverse circumstances. Anyhow, that is my take on it all.
  21. 1Co 6:9 NKJV Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, 1Co 6:10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. 1Co 6:11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God. If we tie this to the context of those who call themselves Christians but remain in the lifestyle of a felon, for instance, we should excommunicate them from churches. They should be warned and we hope they will repent. No unrepentant mafia hit man should remain a church member. A person who refuses to repent of an ongoing "affair" should not remain in the church. As for family members, we can only assume that a person who remains in sin is not a true Christian who has repented and made Jesus Lord of their lives. God hasn't stopped loving them, nor should we. But I would also try to show them that their lives should be increasingly reflecting the life of Jesus and the fruit of the Spirit. Most of all we should pray for them.
  22. 2Co 6:14 NKJV Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? 2Co 6:15 And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? 2Co 6:16 And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will dwell in them And walk among them. I will be their God, And they shall be My people.” 2Co 6:17 Therefore “Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.” 2Co 6:18 “I will be a Father to you, And you shall be My sons and daughters, Says the LORD Almighty.”
  23. I haven't found any Anglican churches that are evangelical in character. The trend seems to be to chuck the Bible and even the 39 Articles. They don't care so much about what you believe as long as you adhere to the ritual. My hope is that I am wrong. The Episcopal has followed the lead of the Church of England in ordaining gays and lesbians to the clergy. This breaks my heart. We need to pray for revival in that church. I am encouraged when I see so many joining Worthy from countries that are predominantly Anglican. God has a remnant.
  24. The question was why did the Bible stop. I was speaking of the authority and genuineness of Scripture. The early church leaders looked for them to be written by one of the Apostles and attested to by the followers if those apostles as being that person's teaching and style. They also looked for the harmony of the content with the rest of the Bible. Scripture does not conflict with itself but confirms itself. So when I say authoritative I mean authentic and the author being the Holy Spirit. Many so called gospels were written a century or more after Christ but they were fiction and gnostic in character. Fakes.
  25. To be authoritative it must have been the words of Christ or the words of His Apostles--those who had been with Him from the beginning of His ministry, and Paul.
