Photograph on my son's phone
Estrella replied to Shy Christian's topic in Have a problem? Looking for advice?
I could relate to shy actually coz from where I come from, even if you are in your 20's, you are still under the watchful eye of your parents. Having said that, whatever we do, we seek parents approval first although in the west, things are different. While I would say it is still good that shy is keeping a watchful eye on her son, she shouldn't be too rigid. Times have changed unlike before. I would just advice her to let hi m grow out of things instead of putting a barrier coz the more you say don't, the more it will bring up more curiosity. I was a product of overprotective parents. So I know what I am saying. At the same time, I am glad that they were still keeping a watchful eye over me that although I fell into the hole, I could still climb up uninjured. But still it all depends really. I have friends whose parents were extremely overprotective that they ended up running away from home due to pressure and some ended up rebelling making wrong choices as reaction to the strict parenting. I don't know. I think we should stick to shy's concern over the photography instead of questioning her son's dependency etc. I think shy would have went through much due to divorce and the last thing she wants to lose is her son. And since her son has no father's guidance, she has to play both roles. So its kinda not fair to say that shy is not teaching her son to take care of himself. Again, there must be balance. The mother bird, does not simply let her babies fly. Only after guiding and educating them and when she feels they are ready and the time is right, she lets them to fly freely. -
Gdemoss.. Generally, women finds it harder to do so than men. Men at one point finds it easier to move on. Most women take time or probably never... I disagree.I think there are some men who have a difficult time moving on and coping. Yes there are too

Don't get me wrong, Shy but i feel you are being too overprotective. And a bit taken aback n disturbed when you label others as "worldly" people who gives bad influence over your son and labeling others as "filth mouths"..."we are not like that". I don't find that a very good example being set for your son when u label others in demeaning way. While it is good that you bring up your child in the correct path, i feel that you are trying to control his friends either. Sorry i have seen many parents do this mistake and their child turn up as not what they have expected. Now, if you aren't happy with what you see, perhaps you should discuss with him, which i see that you did and he has made it clear. You could explain to him the repercussion of these images too if you like. Plus,if he has not brought any trouble then it is wise to take his word. But please don't try to " protect" him too much. Instead guide him into the world and how to overcome them. Not pull him out in a different direction. Balance is vital. Just my thoughts. -
So touching...and precious when i read your masterpiece. Truly from the heart. You are young...but even I could learn a lot from you. and yes,,by God's grace, I will adopt a child. It has always been my intention to do so when the time comes... Take care and God bless, my brother.

He has a pleasant look. But when he spoke, he spoke fearlessly and with confidence.

Hi Pete. Welcome!. Yeah.. Actually it is named Worthy Christian Forum, Worthy Christian Chat. I believe the word Worthy is more of a noun than an adjective. I don't think the word worthy here describes the word Christians' but rather to just name the site "Worthy Christian Forum". It also does not describe us as worthy or "we are worthy, and the rest are not". Lol. And George never intended that way either I am sure. The verse he quoted was to show you how the name Worthy came about as the name of this site. the only One that is Worthy is the Lord. Worthy is the Lamb.Amen? Anyway, welcome Pete. Hope u enjoy your stay here.

I agree. Marriage is a vow made between a man and a woman in the presence of God and people as witness. A marriage is actually a proclamation that I am one with him or her. -
One of my fav songs.

Hinduism actually embraces all religions. Yes peace..."shanti" is highly emphasized in its teaching. Peace in mind heart and soul. Also with regards to treating human and animals alike. Hinduism doesn't advocate war against another unless for justice and peace against enemies but these are done by the gods and goddess. This issue in that particular state of india is politically motivated. This party led by bharataya intends to force all non Hindu Indians to "convert" or "revert" back to Hinduism since he reasoned all Indians are originally Hindus. After all hinduism is or one of the oldest religion. These include Muslims and Christians as well. Not sure about Buddhist though. Actually there is no such thing as converting in Hinduism. People don't convert into the religion. It is a belief which you follow. The concept of convert doesn't apply to Hinduism. Therefore this party's attempt is against Hinduism in the first place. Having said that, Hindus accept all religions as pathways to God. But converting from hinduism to other religion, of course as any other religions of the world would be frowned upon. Anyhow, this incident only affect this area. Hindus in other places are less likely to start similar endeavor in other places. Gandhi would be very upset.

I think i can safely say this: if something is Demonic, these things will pull the attention to themselves, diverting our focus away from the One. Thus, in this case, it seems that your friend believes these 'angels' have cured her instead of God. I am not sure. Perhaps not. Real angels work undercover as so not to direct attention to them. And they will not make their presence felt. Demons do. Their main agenda is to "corrupt" God's plan and "make things appear heavenly, godly etc". Satan is a defeated foe, so his agenda is to grab as many as possible to join him. Of course God's plan will prevail but the devil is so good at deceiving us humans. Remember he is the prince of the world. Many people including Christians bow down to him without actually realizing it. I hope I make sense. Correct me if I'm wrong.
