  1. It sounds to me like the woman is incapable of being baptized, due to her illness and the machines supporting her. I would consider that Jesus was baptized for her, as referenced in Mathew 3:13-17 Specifically verse 15... "Jesus replied, “Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness."
  2. I'm trying to figure out why they needed to cut the top off of a convertible.
  3. Sorry, just noticed someone had already said as much.
  4. Are you aware that Dr. Micheal S. Heiser "(Renowned Bible Scholar)" does not believe in a flat earth? http://drmsh.com/christians-who-believe-the-earth-is-really-flat-does-it-get-any-dumber-than-this/
  5. I use Got Questions occasionally, however, I much prefer to go directly to the Bible.
  6. Here are just a few of the changes I've noticed of myself; I was baptized. I now attend a church and worship / fellowship, and bible study / prayer meetings with other believers, gaining many brothers and sisters. I read the Bible daily. I see, and feel, the fruit of the Spirit (as described in Galatians 5) within me. My conscience bothers me more than it used to. I care less for this world and it's things, caring more, instead for heavenly.
  7. Hmmm, you read and listened to segments and found them to be legalistic... Okay. I disagree with your partial assessment. No, the bottom line of false teaching is a different Jesus, a different gospel, different doctrine than what was once delivered to the Saints. Yes, the Lord will reveal who are His, and yet God inspired 27 books in The New Testament, 26 of which give us warning about false teachers, false gospels, false prophets, etc. And even tells us how we are to know that we, and others, are His, in the here and now. Thank you, Marilyn C, for sharing.
  8. Of course it hurts one to be deceived if they "fall" for the false! That was the point of giving warning! However, one must listen and compare to scripture to be able to discern the false. (Unless you heed the warning of someone trustworthy, who has already done so.)
  9. Sound bar was hijacked? How annoying. Our TV was hijacked several times by Chromecast.
  10. I, too, celebrate Christmas because He was born.
  11. Doesn't even nature itself teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a dishonor to him? But if a woman has long hair, it is a glory to her, for her hair is given to her for a covering. But if any man seems to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither do God's assemblies. 1 Corinthians 11:14-16 I've understood this to mean a woman's long hair is her covering, and it's a shame for a man to have such a covering (long hair), however, if anyone wants to argue about it, we don't hold with the custom of covering. Have I misread these scriptures?
  12. I, too, would like to read an account of how someone "keeping the Sabbath" spends their time on said Sabbath.
  13. These things you're describing in your original post are works of the flesh. A Christian is to live and walk by the Spirit. Please read Galatians chapter five.
  14. I was once told to keep in mind that to God, one day is as a thousand years, and Adam died at one hundred thirty years old. Maybe that has a bearing on the subject of his dying when he ate? I'm not certain though, as I haven't researched it.
  15. People don’t “need” to watch false teacher Sodergaard’s video, especially if they have trust worthy sources warning them away from the false teacher, however, it won’t hurt to do so, as we are told to test all things, and to test the spirits. I, myself, watched the full presentation, and found it to be false, and full of lying signs and wonders. The man uses sleight of hand, and hypnosis techniques to mimic acts of God, and also presents a false gospel. For anyone else reading that may be interested, here is another source refuting the false teachings of Sodergaard; https://www.holybibleprophecy.org/2017/06/16/last-reformation-get-back-book-acts/
  16. That doesn’t surprise me at all. We are told in scripture that false prophets and false teachers will arise from among us.
  17. Hello, Marilyn C. You said you listened to Pastor Jennings broadcast that I linked to, and yet the time stamps on your post saying you will check it out to when you say you listened are stamped with the same time. I find that rather odd, as Pastor Jennings presentation was almost an hour long. However, perhaps this forum’s time stamps are off, so I’ll give you the benefit of doubt. I listened to Pastor Jennings presentation and found no twisting at all. As a matter of fact, he refuted false, so called apostle, Sodergaard’s teachings with scripture. You really didn’t hear Pastor Jennings use scripture, not his own “slant” as you call it? Of course Pastor Jennings was concerned about people in his congregation turning to apostasy. What good pastor wouldn’t be concerned? Fear for the eternal spirit and soul of others isn’t a bad thing! Also, Pastor Jennings wasn't speaking against street ministry, but against the false teaching of Sodergaard.
  18. Torben Sodergaard is a false teacher, false apostle, and a charlatan. I urge you to flee him, and his ministry. If you need help discerning what is false about Torben's teaching, please listen to this; sermonaudio.com/sermon/414162243350
  19. Oh, Willa! This made me giggle. Apparently, When Is Jesus Coming? did not understand your reply.
  20. You’re welcome, Your closest friendnt. Thank you, for your confidence in my reply. I’m fairly new to the faith, being born again only about 5 years or so now, so, I still have a lot to learn. I agree with you that there is a lot to learn about the early believers. I disagree with you here; You said: “It must have been Peter telling the Believers that the Lord is coming very soon and within their generation,” No, Peter isn’t at fault for the people not believing in the return of our Lord, Jesus. The mockers that were mocking, following after their own lusts, refers to unbelievers. They are not following God, they are following their own desires. We read this here; Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts, and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation.” 2 Peter 3:3-4 Basically, the unbelievers are calling Jesus, and his disciples, liars. Peter and the other Apostles didn’t teach that Jesus would return at a certain time, or in that specific generation. Jesus, himself, even stated that He didn’t know the day of His return. We read that here; “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone”… Mathew 24:36 In Mathew 24, we read of how the world will be when Jesus’ return is near, the “signs of the time”, so to speak. Believers, on the other hand, believe in the return of our Lord Jesus, and we even hope he comes soon, but it doesn’t upset us if we die before He returns, because we will be with Him either way. See? If He comes, we go to Him, if we die, we go to Him! So, either way, we get to be with Him! Now, we do grieve, when we think of all the unbelievers that will be dead in their sins at our Lords return, but to us, who have been born again unto new life, we have joy at the thought of being with our Lord. …in the future there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing. 2 Timothy 4:8
  21. Your closest friendnt, I will try to answer your questions. (I welcome any corrections from others, if I get it wrong.) You asked: "...Who are the people he is addressing,..." The Apostle Peter is addressing other Christians. We read this at the beginning of his letter; Simon Peter, a bond-servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who have received a faith of the same kind as ours, by the righteousness of our God and Savior, Jesus Christ: 2 Peter 1:1 You asked: "...what is the reason to address them in this manner,..." He is addressing them in this manner to remind them what they have been taught in truth, the promise given, and as a stern warning, because other people were mocking, and teaching contrary (false doctrine) to what had been taught by the Apostles. We read of this here; Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts, and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation.” 2 Peter 3:3-4 This particular verse (2 Peter 3:9) refers to His promise to come back, and how some people think He's slow about it, but God isn't being slow, He's being patient. You asked: "...and what is the promise." But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up. Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way, what sort of people ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be destroyed by burning, and the elements will melt with intense heat! But according to His promise we are looking for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells. 2 Peter 3:10-13 There are also other promises referred to in 2 Peter, which makes for a very good study.
  22. 1. As far as I know, the bible does not say outright that cussing is bad, however, we are instructed to; Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear. Ephesians 4:29 But now you also, put them all aside: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and abusive speech from your mouth. Colossians 3:8 But immorality or any impurity or greed must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints; and there must be no filthiness and silly talk, or coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks. Ephesians 5:3-4 2. Yes He who goes about as a slanderer reveals secrets, Therefore do not associate with a gossip. Proverbs 20:19 For I am afraid that perhaps when I come I may find you to be not what I wish and may be found by you to be not what you wish; that perhaps there will be strife, jealousy, angry tempers, disputes, slanders, gossip, arrogance, disturbances; 2 Corinthians 12:20 3. As far as I know, the bible does not state outright that horror movies are bad, however, we are instructed to; Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. Philippians 4:8
