Hello Rachael - welcome to Worthy. I can testify to you that there is, indeed "something" better. I started my search at about 25 and by 27 I surrendered my life to God ..... God the Father, Jesus His Son, and the Holy Spirit. I found out that Jesus died in my place on the cross in order to make me free from sin and death. Everything changed for me! My old life was left behind as I embarked on my journey with Jesus, Who spoke to me and lead me into His marvellous kingdom of light. One day, I was guilt-ridden, the next, guilt-free as I came into the experience of knowing Him, and receiving His forgiveness. He made me a new creation in Him; old things passed away ... just 'dropped off'. The transformation was amazing. Not everyone has such a dramatic testimony; for others the process may be different. But, for me, Jesus came right when He knew I would receive Him. His timing is perfect, and He is the God of the individual. We are all going to have different testimonies but one thing is sure - He will never, never forsake anyone who comes to Him with genuineness of heart and truly, absolutely wants to ask His forgiveness, repent and follow Him for the rest of their days. Now, the reason He died on the cross was that He was completely sinless, pure and holy and we are completely sinful. He exchanged His life for ours and His sacrificial act gives us new life; the old one having passed away. But we must continue to live for Him, forsaking the world and all its ways and putting Him first in our lives. It has to be complete abandonment to Him. We must repent from all our sin and believe in Him and He will forgive us. Follow Him! It is the best decision any person can ever make. I will pray for you .... that you will make this decision. If you do, you will never want to go back to "the old life".

So sick of waiting for love
SisterActs2 replied to joshhmusic's topic in Have a problem? Looking for advice?
Hi Joshhmusic Dear brother. You are 16. I agree with Debp. She is absolutely right. Between the ages of, say, 12 or 13 and about 18-21 young people are going through huge changes in their lives. They do not need the added complication of trying to have a relationship. You may feel you are missing out, but believe me, God is simply caring for you. The reason that young people should not indulge in close relationships with the opposite sex is that it brings about a lot of things that you are simply not able to deal with. Young people are not mature enough to be able to handle relationships like that rationally. Have a look around and see the results of emotional attachment too soon, and with the wrong people, simply because of momentary attraction. God's ways are wiser than ours, His thoughts higher. He is looking out for you. We all make mistakes. A lot of mine were when I was quite young. Put your trust and faith in the Lord Who is able to bring you to maturity in His time. Do you have a youth group at your church, Josh? Does the youth group do things together, like enjoy outings and other things in a group setting? Sometimes we learn quite a bit by being "part of the crowd".... like social interaction, and becoming socially mature. I suggest you put your trust in the Lord; that He will bring things to pass in your life in HIS timing, when He knows you are ready. I hope you understand our counsel is given with absolute love from sisters in the Lord; some of us having brought up children of our own and faced these things before. God bless you Joshhmusic. -

Keep on writing these beautiful poems, turtletwo. Here's that "E" again - encouragement. Thank you.

Hi all Turtletwo, I used to sing that song "I will call upon the Lord" when I was in YWAM! We also know the other one. Praise God He gave us songs with which to lift Him up in praise.☺️

Thousands of Muslims encounter Jesus

Glory to God! -
Turtletwo, I cannot give only one thumbs up - as I want to give you a lot of "thumbs-up" because I loved your testimony about your mom so much! I have to agree with Gandalf, Annette. But if I have to choose ... some people who gave me the foundations in Christ that I sorely needed once born-again would have to be my first pastors - a wonderful man and his beautiful wife God used to nurture me and bring me up in the ways of the Lord.

Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus
SisterActs2 replied to turtletwo's topic in Songs of Praise Poetry Club's Forums
Hi tt Oh, the joy of singing this hymn. I always thought it was the Gaithers who penned this. Thanks for letting me know who it really was. The fact is, I should be turning my eyes upon Jesus much more. When I feel down, I need to "switch my thinking", forget about myself and other things and concentrate on Him and worship Him. (Another song that comes to mind.) I just appreciate being able to come here and read others' posts and feel so uplifted! Praise Him. -

Take My Life And Let It Be
SisterActs2 replied to turtletwo's topic in Songs of Praise Poetry Club's Forums
Hi Turtletwo This is a favourite hymn. Thank you for posting it. My husband and I love the hymns ... they are deep expressions of the joy felt by God's people, the authors themselves and us when we read the lyrics and sing them. -
Thank you my dearest brother and sisters. Praise the Lord that He is no longer on the cross, but resurrected, sitting/standing at the right hand of our Father, having conquered every foe, and abiding in the hearts of those who love Him.

Here is a poem of mine: I am an amateur. The reason I said "came out of nowhere" was because it took a revelation to realise Jesus was the truth I had been searching for! LOST AND FOUND I'm the poor and wretched, blind and naked, woman on the street Who's looking for her knight in shining armour, if ever we should meet I'm a broken person, looking down, so undeserving of his love Don't think of ever looking up, never dreaming he's above Would he ever consider one so degraded, blind and lost Would he ever come looking for one who is storm-tossed? But there He is! Came out of nowhere! ... HE'S NAILED TO A CROSS! Never did think I that He could buy my freedom .... WHAT A COST! A miracle! My Lord, My God, you've taken me by the hand The Lamb of God has looked for me ... He's left the 99 and found His little lamb. People, I must apologise. I have been convicted by the Lord that I may have given the wrong impression here. The words "woman on the street" were meant to convey how I felt on the inside when I received salvation, nothing more. Nonetheless, I was a sinner and now I am a sinner saved by grace. Thank you everyone.

Can you help me by voicing an opinion?
SisterActs2 replied to Omegaman 3.0's topic in General Discussion
Hi Omegaman I finally got to see the pics, thank you. Some of them seem to have different names to the ones you have listed above. In the top set, I liked "Magna Wave" and in the bottom set, the tranquil waterfall/forrest scene. I didn't select these because they would look good on my walls, as I really liked all of them, and do agree that you are a talented fellow. I selected those that appealed to me the most. Lovely work, bro. I have a request, which I will pm to you. -
Welcome to Worthy, canada. Hope you are finding your way around. Most people now find it easy, but being an old chook and technologically challenged, I did take a while lol!

Hi turtletwo and Yowm Thank you so much for the correction. I knew I remembered it from one of those bands in my early salvation days. I remember now; I actually purchased the 'LP' and it had a pic on the front of the band in a train. They were sitting there in a carriage and I think the inside of the album cover showed them all gone! Maranatha! No, tt, you are absolutely right. Thanks for jogging my memory, both of you, as now I know the young man was associated with them - I am pretty sure now it wasn't Janny after all. So glad you all enjoy it too! It's beautiful, isn't it. Praise the Lord. He gives us such wonderful ways to worship Him.

I wanted to add the following. When I got saved, I remember (all this if my memory serves me correctly) having a Janny Grein songbook, and I also remember a reference to a young man associated with Janny and Bill Grein who had put music to this Psalm. I can't remember whether there was a second verse, but I remember the tune and words: Give ear to my words, Oh Lord Consider my meditation Harken unto the voice of my cry My King and my God For unto Thee will I pray My voice shalt Thou hear in the morning Oh, Lord, in the morning Will I direct my prayer Until Thee and will look up. Does anyone else here know the tune and sing these verses as well? I love singing this song.
