  1. The belief in “purgatory”....... don’t get me started.....It’s like mixing “ The communist manifesto” with the writings of Milton Friedman.....it won’t work.
  2. Wow....that was fast! Thanks.....I think.....lol
  3. Would love to see pt 1........ hint , hint......lol
  4. I totally agree......we ain’t seen nothin’ yet.....child molestation and bestiality are on deck for acceptance....
  5. One can lean on the Cross in the sense that if Jesus had not shed His Blood on it, we would all be lost......either lean on it and what it represents ( the greatest act of love in the universe) or be an “ enemy of the Cross”.Christ endured the torture and the shame of the Cross for the joy he knew awaited Him on the other side of it. That joy came from saving Mankind.....at least those that would “ come to Him. One can do that by believing Paul’s Gospel, given to him by Jesus.....1cor15:1-4
  6. I cant do everything that pleases God, but I can at least do the ONE THING that makes Him so happy He grants me Eternal Life....He offered a gift to me and I accepted it.....I simply “ believed in the One He sent”
  7. Yes, Omegaman......there are many stories like yours out there.....people trying to disprove the Bible becoming Believers to Their surprise.. My road was rather easy......I did nothing, deserved nothing, for absolutely no good reason I was given “ ears to hear”, the rest ,as they say is history.....lol
  8. Jello.....nice to meet you! No need to fear any kind of judgement from me. I love atheists. I used to be one. Hard-Core. My two best friends are still atheist—— one of these guys is the funniest person I have ever know n and the other is the smartest person I have ever known. Here are some of my interests—- riding my Harley Heritage Soft Tail, photography, ( I used to be a wedding photographer) and I love listening to music of the sixties and seventies ( Beatles......saw them live back in 1965, Stones,Clapton, Hendrix, caught his guitar pick in a crowd, kept it for a long time, Jackson Browne, Fleetwood Mac and Skynyrd and Stevie Ray).I am totally UNreligious and enjoy nothing better than exposing and puking on all things legalistic.So......let me know if I can help you with anything. You remind me of me not so many years back, only I would bet I was 100 Times a worse sinner than you ever dreamed of being.I’m still nothing to brag about.....lol.....I just thank God for His Amazing Grace. It’s out there for you too, and it’s so simple to get that most people miss it.....oops, sorry about that little “ religious” thingy—— sometimes stuff just kinda slips out....lol....... Best of luck to you, friend
  9. Jesus told Paul to tell the world about the way to be saved in this present Age of Grace.....simply believe 1cor15:1-4........nothing more, nothing less
  10. If you are a member of “the Body of Christ” in this present Age of Grace, God has put all of your sins on the Cross......do the same thing with your sins that He does.....leave them there! If you are not a member of the Body of Christ, you have bigger problems than confession or mortal sins....believe the Gospel of Paul , given to him by Christ personally (1cor15:1-4) and don’t add to it with the countless perversions like the Catholics have done. That is the way to “fall from grace” and become “accursed”.Get a Bible you can understand and read Romans first to see how to get saved. It should not take you long to see that most catholic teachings are Hogwash.Ive always claimed that if a person reads thBible from one end to the other it is impossible to come out a Catholic. Some people manage to find salvation IN SPITE OF the Catholic Church......the same thing could be said of countless other “ churches”, so please don’t think I am trying to pick on you.You have my sincere prayers.God bless you
  11. ALL things are lawful to me, but not all things are expedient....as a free man in Christ, I listen to all types of music......Beatles, Stones,Clapton, Fleetwood Mac——- you name it. If a fellow Believer is within hearing distance and it offends him, I would most certainly turn it off.....otherwise, I don’t tell weak believers what to listen to or watch, and they ain’t gonna tell me
  12. Nice try, but no cigar....my faith is in Paul’s Gospel given to him by Christ. That alone. If you really BELIEVE the Gospel thAt Jesus promises WILL save.....you have no choice with the OSAS doctrine.....it just automatically comes along as a great benefit.....That doctrine DOES NOT SAVE !!! Can I make myself any more clear? Two People have to take a jet to Hawaii. One guy is absolutely certain that a jet can fly and he is so relaxed he can rest, he even falls asleep. The other guy has no confidence in jets. He is scared during the entire flight. No assurance for him. Eventually they both completed their tripTye jet proved to be worthy of the trip. The confidence of the one guy and the lack of confidence by the other had nothing to do with the successful trip. One guy enjoyed the ride. The other did not. This little tale could be analogous to our Christian journey. Fully believe what Christ accomplished at the Cross and enjoy the Walk or be not quite sure that Jesus died for ALL of our sins( maybe just the little ones and the ones we have repented of) and be insecure, one who lacks assurance during your walk. I hope it is just a case of weak faith and no full assurance for the NOSAS crowd .Regardless, it is the faith or lack of faith that determines everything, not the doctrine that comes with it.My problem is can you doubt the Gospel ( evidenced by thinking you have to add your good works and/or repentance to it) and believe it at the same time? No, doctrines do not save, but ones doctrine is evidence of ones faith which DOES save.I would be very interested to see how others think.
  13. Ahhhhh.......the mysterious OSAS murderer/rapist/drunkard/ wife beater has once again reared his ugly head!He did all these fun things and got away with it!He has a jeolous buddy who can do the very same things.Rape, ravage and plunder all day long! As long as he repents that night and God help him, before he dies, he “ gets away with it” too! As long as the repentance is sincere, he’s covered. With the week-end coming up, let’s all get together and sin up a storm, we all know how much fun it is! I’m already forgiven and the other guy will be forgiven too , come bedtime. If I fail to show up , let me a apologise—- my old ways of “ having fun” just don’t have the appeal they used to. I’m just not that way anymore. Why, it’s almost as if I have been “ born again”. Go figure.
  14. Paul said that he preached only the Cross of Christ.....if one is not leaning on that And that alone.....one would be an “ enemy of the Cross”Faith plus nothing Believing the Gospel of Paul that saves is the only thing I have ever done to “earn “ my salvation.Try as you may , it can’t be twisted into a work.Attempts to make it such are a transparent attempt to try to “ hang “ something by those that are stuck with the unscriptural , Gospel perversions that preach “ lucky repentance” onto those that have been properly taught otherwise.
  15. Interesting stuff there..... I wish I had something of value to add, but I don’t.....lol
  16. What if you demonstrated faith. Faith is believing the promises of God and acting on them” I am the God that healith thee” is the promise. Many go through their lifetimes “ not having obtained the promise”. If one dies not receiving the promise here on Earth, they will certainly get it in the next life, if they are a Believer. It is my contention that anyone who “leaves Christianity” never knew it.Early Christians watched as their children were eaten alive by lions. All they had to do was “ leave Christianity”. There is no record any of them did.You may have left religion.....that’s to your credit. Good for you! Pray that the Holy Spirit makes you “ good soil” .God bless.
  17. Judas is no different from any other man.....if he is in Hell, and of course he is, it is because of unbelief....call him a disciple, call him a “Believer”, but he never was.The sins of Peter who denied Jesus three times were put on the cross right up there with the sins of Judas.Peter cashed in. Judas did not. Today we cash in by believing Paul’s Gospel.....being alert to the fact that we can’t add to it with works or last second lucky relentance we will see poor old Judas face-to- face. Faith plus nothing.o'
  18. All those animal names.....Adam must have been getting desperate when he pulled “aardvark” out of his, er ah ......hat. Lol
  19. All such “ lists” are either taken out of context or are not addressed to The Body of Christ. The sin issue has been resolved via the Cross.Unbelief in Paul’s Gospel is what damns.
  20. You just don’t get it, do you?You seem to be totally void about anything that e ven approaches self- insight. I am not talking about being a murderer,a rapist or a robber or anything like that.Like Spurgeon I am talking about one who has the wisdom and enough self- recognition to see that even though God has saved us and changed us for the better, there is still a part of us deep inside that still has secret thoughts that would shame Hell and we will need a whole lot of grace throughout our lives whether we have been saved 5 minutes or 50 years.Spurgeon understood it . I understand it. How about you? Grace is what gets us Home——not lucky repentance in that last second before we die.Faith plus nothing
  21. One of the most respected and revered preachers of all time , Charles Spurgeon , said that as he climbed into the pulpit he couldn’t believe that the congregation did not stone him.....that is humility. If you don’t understand the point he was making and the point I am also trying to make I am not not going to waste my time trying to explain it.Those whose hearts have truly been softened understand his humility. Some will never get it.
  22. The subject of this thread is about the hardest people to witness to.Gary Lee brought up an excellent point that I expounded on.He mentioned that you got to convince people they are lost before you can get them saved.I think people such as that are VERY difficult to witness to—- completely in sync with the spirit of the thread.....call me paranoid, but i am starting to sense that Butero doesn’t want me around......when I refer to myself as “ lazy”...... that is what you call a self- depreciation joke.....If I were lazy I wouldn’t be in here posting stuff all the time.A more apt description would be “ weary”..... I’m not going to respond individually to dozens of items when I can sum them up with a one- sentence response. That response is Paul said if we believe his Gospel we will be saved - not put on probation or forced to become Biblical lawyers to try to find another verse to trip us up.God made the promise. The responsibility to fulfill that promise is on His shoulders. If there is something out there I must do to remain saveD or something out there I must not do to keep me saved, God will take care of it. That’s called faith.I actually believe God can and will save me, despite my ignorance, stupidity and weak flesh.Trying to witness to people that worship at the alter of “ lucky , last second repentance” is very difficult. Can a person who substitutes HIS repentance over God’s grace be truly saved?I don’t know and I am joyful that I don’t have to worry about it.Faith plus nothing btw....I agree with James about that “ dead faith” thingy.....works don’t save, but they will follow faith as sure as night follows day
  23. Some say that when God says” no” He sometimes means”No—- I’ve got something better”
