Paul stated that the ONLY thing he preached was “ Christ Crucified.I must inquire, my wise friend,why did yo omit the previous verses.....” I decare unto you the G O S P E L,wherein you Stand,by which you are also S A V E D, if you keep in memory what I taught you,unless you have believed in vain.” Paul referred to this as “ MY Gospel” ( Romans 2:16 ) several times .It was Paul’s Gospel , But it was given to him, probably in person in the Sinai Desert by Jesus Himself.When Paul talks later about the “ Gospel that is “hidden from those who are lost” and when he refers to the “ Gospel that God will judge us by” it is the “ my Gospel” that he was referring to- not to the Gospel that he told Agrippa About.Same Gospel ( both inspired by God,required turning to God as lost sinners and believing in the resurrection of Christ , either wordings ,If you believe them, will get one saved) just different words. The Gospel Of Paul in 1 cor does not mention the word “ repentance” that was mentioned in his words to Agrippa .....it did not have to ......Repentance is built- in..... One who did not believe that Jesus died for their sins and rose from the grave has changed their mind about who they were ( I don’t need anybody to die for my sins) and who Jesus was ( more than just a wise ,good man, if he rose from the dead He was who He said was- God in the flesh) Paul penned Romans years after he wrote Corinthians and I am surprised that Paul did not preach these same exact words to them.He didn’t.His “ good news” was distilled down to even simpler terms... “ If you confess with your mouth “ Jesus is Lord” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead,you will be saved” It was also to be found in “ Anybody that asks to be saved WILL be saved” All these “ good news “ verses will get you saved......but who is going to turn to God for these promises of Salvation until he sees he is a sinner that NEEDS to be saved ? That is the man who has repented..no Salvation without it. Can I make myself any clearer?

I sometimes wonder If where we put the emphasis on John3:16 is what determines the real meaning: Is it B E L I E V E on me or is it believe on M E. I hope I can get that across.......anyway, it’s just something to think about

Perhaps cletus,myself,and others do not shine like we should sometimes.For myself, I apologize for the times my Old Nature rears it’s ugly head and my natural tendency to be a wise- guy manifests it self. Having said that, I think growinginjesus in entitled to see real,warts- and-all human beings who are Christians ,yet still struggle with flaws that run the gamut from pettiness to flat- out meanness and everything in between.I strive to be on my best behavior in here— I’m sure 99% of posters share in that— but for me ,the phoniness Of always trying to be “ sweet” and putting on that plastic smile is more sickening than two old men acting like children on occasion .God is at work in all of us.....we are all being changed and are at different levels in our maturity.I am not trying to excuse less than stellar behavior- it’s gonna happen- But it’s bad enough to be a sinner( as ALL of us still are ) but we don’t have to be hypocrites about it.I could disagree with Cletus until the cows come home and make smarmy comments from time to time, but here is something else that growinginjesus should note as he witnesses true Christians who disagree and argue —- if I ever met Cletus in person, I am sure we would be friends and If he ever needed help with anything, I would be first in line to help him.This might be the difference between a Christian and a non-Christian that it would not hurt the world to see.I disagree with Cletus, but I consider him to be my Brother.I hope he thinks of me as a brother also.If he does- great! If not, the last thing I want to see from him is a phoniness- donning a mask to try and fool our audience into believing Christians are “ above it all” and are always “ sweet”. We ain’t.

People who do not have a new nature in Christ are perhaps not born again I would kindly strike the word “ perhaps” from this statement.If one does not have the new nature, they are not born again,they are not indwelt by the Holy Spirit and this “ none of His”

David repented, yet the consequences of his Adultery and murder followed him the rest of his life, in fact,he wrecked his life— still saved though, because of his faith.If one is a Child Of God,repentance will occur naturally after sin and so will chastisement .Like a good father, God will chastise His children out of love .If you sin and “ get away with it” you more than likely are “ none of His”

Please show me from the context of the Gospels or Acts, where a Gospel other that Repent is preached. why the restrictions? You are excluding All of Paul’s writings .....I would think that the man that Jesus chose to reveal the Gospel Of Grace That saves us 1cor15:1-4 would be VERY pertinent to this discussion....please answer this so I can proceed...

Therefore the simple message and grand hope of the gospel is that God has conditionally offered immortal life to the dying race of man. If a man repents of his sin and turns to God in trust and obedience he will not suffer the Second Death - spiritual annihilation in the Lake of Fire. Paul referred to “ false gospels”. This one is straight from Hell......compare it to the One TRUE Gospel Of 1 Cor15 1-4....... let me know if you think they have ANYTHiNG in common ” with repentance towards God ( gr. metanoia....change your mind..... see that you are a lost sinner and own up to that truth) and faith towards Christ. ( seeing that His Shed Blood paid for your sins) The True Gospel that Jesus promised will save, if believed—- Jesus died for your sins and rose from the grave.Add to it with any of your works, you cancel it.Its a Gospel Of pure Grace — works cancel grace.

You are 100% correct......you have essentially quoted 1 cor15:1-4.......Jesus promised us that if we believe that...we are saved......anybody that adds to that Gospel is severed from Christ and is fallen from Grace.....run, dont walk, from Judaizers that would “ tickle your ears” by adding your performance to the simple Gospel Of Grace......If you sing this—- believe it—- “ NOTHING BUT THE BLOOD”
