  1. If that is the case, one knows neither God nor the scriptures. As you have quoted Matthew 6:8 Do not be like, them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
  2. Please can you explain why this one event has to have outside corroboration? You are aware aren't you that all nations only boasts about there successes and keep very quiet about there defeats. Why would Egypt brag about loosing a valuable work force and about the death of so many children etc. May I suggest that you investigate that which really can falsify Christianity. If you can present a reasonable coherent argument that shows that Jesus did not rise from the dead you will have destroyed Christianity. There are two problems, fail and you will have only the emotional argument, " I don't want to be Christian. " And very intelligent men have tried and failed. Lee Strobel an investigative journalist tri3d a d his failure can be read in ' the Case for Christ.' James Warner Wallace a coldcase detective tried and you can read about his failure in his book or Web site, coldcase christianity. The big question is are you honest enough to try?
  3. A good example that most ministers and youth workers are not doing their job. That girl should have been taught that the answer to all claims like that is, " Your evidence for this claim is? " As well as some of the many proofs that demonstrate the bibles historical accuracy.
  4. To show how destructive the flood was have a look at :- https://creation.com/how-did-the-waters-of-noahs-flood-drain
  5. Genesis 7:19 the flood waters covered the high mountains. Genesis 9:11 establish my covenant with you: Never again will all life be destroyed by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth.” Secular geology, the grand canyon is over a mile in depth and covers several thousand square miles of sedimentary rock. That is sand, gravel etc laid down by water in one global event. An event so catastrophic that in transformed the face of the earth. A garden would have been destroyed. One may i agile that God preserved it, in which case it is no longer on the earth, or alternatively that same angel that guards it has hidden it, either way the garden is not accessible to man.
  6. Israel is those who are obedient to God, that is are hoisting.
  7. Given that one angel in one night killed every first born male in Egypt effortlessly, would you really want to try and sneak past an angel! The question is pointless as Eden was destroyed alone with everything else in the flood.
  8. It would be blamed on the Israelies!
  9. You mean you don't know that God knows our needs!
  10. Genesis 3:22 And the Lord God said, “The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever.” 23 So the Lord God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken. 24 After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side[e] of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.
  11. God wants us to pray. He'll put up with incohbabling, long winded repetitive prayers, blunt statements, stammering stuttering prayers so long as we pray. His spirit in us will interpret what we do and do not say to God. The important thing is that we pray.
  12. No but you hxzave repeated the Lord's prayer 4 times in two posts, in my opinion that in pointless repetition.
  13. Welcome, I hope I make sense to you. There is a hierarchy in the trinity, the spirit looks to Jesus, Jesus looks to the Father, yet all are equally God. The nearest illustration is marriage. The husband is the Head of the household and his wife has promised to obey him. Yet the two are also equal, neither is more important than the other. The power imbalance is corrected by the husbands duty to love his wife, as sacrificial as Jesus loved his church. It is the same in the trinity, each loves and responds to each other, there advantage is they are perfect with Perfect knowledge of each other. Hope this helps.
  14. There is William Lane Craig, he is a Christian Professor of philosophy. Or Dr G Habbermas an expert on the resurrection. Philosophical ideas are discussed inboth answersingenesis and creation.com. For investigations into the historical facts of Christianity there is Lee Strobel and James Warner Wallace. Or Sean Mcdowell and his book Evidence that demands a verdict. It is just about high brow ideas and fancy words, but also about historical facts.
  15. Romans 2:4 do you show contemptfor the riches of his ( God's) kindness, forbearance and patience, not realising that God's kindness is meant to lead you to repentance?
  16. As he did on the cross, he prayed for them, that the Father would forgive them, but Jesus did not forgive them. Forgiveness is Always conditional on repentance.
  17. In a garden just created how much work would need to be done? It says in gen 2:19 that God brought all the animals to Adam to name. How long would it take to name the ancestor of the cows, pigs, deer, dogs and birds etc? Why do you suppose it could not be done in one day.
  18. That is not staying out of trouble but seeking vengeance.
  19. It is always a mistake to look at God and his actions only from our view point. Yes the thought of our loved ones having to suffer is horrific. What we know of God is that he is Holy, he is, Just and Merciful. He is not arbitrary or capricious in his judgments. I liken our seeing loved ones separated from God as our seeing a dearly loved one tried and convicted of a horrible crime. We have seen the evidence, heard the testimonies, witnesses the accused and agree with the jury, the verdict is guilty. Unfortunately that is what will happen on the day of judgement, we will know beyond any shadow of doubt that those loved ones are guilty and we will accept God's judgement. I don't know how our feelings will be helped other than we will know that justice has been done.
  20. May I suggest that you compare the church practices you are familiar with to the account given by Justin Martyr:- ‘On the day called Sunday, all who live in cities or in the country gather together to one place, and the memoirs of the apostles or the writings of the prophets are read, as long as time permits; then when the reader has ceased, the president verbally instructs, and exhorts to the imitation of these good things. Then we all rise together and pray, and, as we before said, when our prayer is ended, bread and wine and water are brought, and the president in like manner offers prayers and thanksgivings, according to his ability, and the people assent, saying Amen; and there is a distribution to each, and a participation of that over which thanks have been given, and to those who are absent a portion is sent by the deacons. And they who are well to do, and willing, give what each thinks fit; and what is collected is deposited with the president, who succors [give assistance to] the orphans and widows, and those who, through sickness or any other cause are in want, and those who are in bonds, and the strangers sojourning among us, and in a word takes care of all who are in need. But Sunday is the day on which we all hold our common assembly, because it is the first day on which God, having wrought a change in the darkness and matter, made the world; and Jesus Christ our Savior on the same day rose from the dead.’ this was written to explain how Christians worshipped and to show there was nothing anti social or rebellious about it, he wrote in the 2nd century.
  21. As Hebrews 8:12 says ' I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more. Which is a quote from Jerimiah 31:31-34 where God promises to give a new covenant, writing his laws on the hearts of his people. In short repentance and saving faith.
  22. The child is already living, the frozen embryos are only potential life. But throw the question back at them. When does an unborn baby become human? Science says life begins at fertilisation, so what evidence do they have to support there view?
  23. I don't know about the states, but here in the UK our police have officers who will inspect ones house and advice on what can be done to improve security. You can also check on the crime stats for your area to see how valid your fears are. Discuss with your husband about getting a burglar alarm and intruder alarm, linked to the P0lice station. These might just be moving your anxiety from one perceived issue to another issue.
  24. Is there any particular thing or reasons for your anxiety? Are you eating and drinking properly? Do think seriously about seeking help for your anxieties, this is not a suggestion to get drugged to your eyebrows, but for counc3lling, therapy, as has been suggested vitamin supplements and practices like meditating on biblical verses to settle and calm your mind.
