Jesus came only to Israel, to the Jews simple because they were the ones God had chosen to hear his message, to hold the blood line that would bare the annoited one. Jesus fulfilled all the prophercies of a coming Messiah. The gospel is found in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Not as clearly as Paul preaches it but it is there. What is very significant is Jesus sending the disciples out into the whole world. That alone shows that the gospel was not for Israel only.

The startying point for determining whjether any one is wise is:- Are they a Christian. If they are not that is a sign thery are at heart a fool.

Abraham was chosen by God. That in its self tells us a lot about Abraham. He was not an idol worshipper, he was alert to God speaking to him and was willing to put everything to one side to obey God.

the book of psalm Praying Psalm over enemies
Who me replied to Revlori's topic in Do you want to just ask a question?
The biblical responce is seen in Luke 17 and in how Jesus responded while being crucified. If someone sideswipes my car or some other action against me and I either do not know who they are, or a known person will not say sorry. I hand that situation, my feelings and that person over to God to deal with. I do not need to spend anyemotional energy on them or the situation. If it makes you feel good you can say 'I forgive you.' It does not make me feel good. Your quote of Jesus is not Jesus forgiving them, but Jesus handing his murders over to God to deal with. Every instruction found in the bible is given in the context of repentance, when we Must forgive. -
World Evangelical Alliance: a call to finish the Great Commision
Who me replied to listener24's topic in General Discussion
Seems to me that it would be better if all those involved in this great alliance just got stuck in to evangelism in there area and lead by example. As far as i understand it, God has used people in there localities to spread the gospel sometimes spectacularly often quietly and undramaticlly but never through self publicising activities. Jonathan Edwards was preaching his sunday sermon when God moved among his people, the same happened in many other revivals, in others men and women prayed and God answered those prayers. -
Next time you chat or text with him, be blunt. He needs a job that will pay his rent, fuel, food, medicine, transport and insurance cost. His utube activities are nothing more than a hobby. If he is unable to fine work he has to close his mouth and be very polite to his parents who are paying for the things he cannot pay for. As orange cat has said he needs to be involved in a church, to help him find friends and to accept medical help for his depression. it is hard telling someone you know what they don' want to hear. He may well unfriend you. if he does don't take it personally.

God is the source of All that is 'good'. Evil is the absence of 'good'. The bible tells us God is 'good' so only an ignorant person would assume God is the source of evil.

What Was The Point In Animal Sacrifice?
Who me replied to Open7's topic in Do you want to just ask a question?
The OT system was about obedience. One obeyed the complex OT laws about behaviour, food and clothing etc and also obeyed the religious rituals. These stressed he importance of being ritually clean from anything that was classed as unclean or inpure. It was costly in time and in animals to be ritualy clean. As one had to wash oneself, the cloths being worn spend the day away from ones work, family etc and sacrifice an animal. Why an animal? It taught that it was costly in terms of the value of the animal, in terms of a life being taken and because of the consquence of not being ritually clean. That is separation from God and from his people. -
Therefore Being Justified By Faith,
Who me replied to Walter and Deborah's topic in General Discussion
We do not have to reach a standard of 'goodness', atain a level of 'holiness', achieve a degree of 'purity', do enough 'good works', but we come as we are to humbly, there is a catch, to recieve from God the gift of faith to believe that Jesus is our Saviour. Think. We do not earn or deserve in any way what we are given. Isn't that amasing. -
LOVE: The most misunderstood life from Christ
Who me replied to Seasoned by Grace's topic in General Discussion
That many people claim to be Christian when they aren't. That many Christians have sins in their lives. That few of us live as we should is all true. How much love is there in accusing people and leaving it at that. 1John1 talks about those who say they are without sin decieving themselves, but also talks about how gracious and loving God is and how willing to forgive us. -
Believe His Prophets, So Shall Ye Prosper
Who me replied to Walter and Deborah's topic in General Discussion
We do not live in a land that God has given to us. The many promises God has given to us through Jesus are not of or for material sucess. Our primary reward is spiritual, either here or in the life tocome. -
Acts 3 and what of the next day for a former beggar?
Who me replied to Neighbor's topic in General Discussion
He belonged to a family, he had friends who carried him to his begging position. With his amazing story of how he gained the use of his legs there would have been an oppertunity there for him to earn a living. -
Still bring her stituation to the attention of the pastor/elders, there will be some who can visit and provide some help. Also suggest to the pastor it is time to swallow his pride and seek help, union with other churches with younger more active members.

In setting an example we also show not only how people should live but we also show up that they are not living as they should. Being salt and life is not easy, in that we have to live to the highest standards and who among us can say we do that. It also makes us targets in a society that does not accept or recognised the standards we are living by. Loving the world is not a soft option, it involves revealing the truth about sin and the need for Jesus as a Saviour.

Because you prioritise your time does not make you a bad Christian. Does this lady attend a church who could visit and give her help?

Please write and complain about what he says. Try to nail down an exact untruth or to be able to point out how he implies an untruth. It is only by making protests that the tv controllers know that there are those out there who do not like there programes.

Luke17:“If your brother or sister sins against you, rebuke them; and if they repent, forgive them. 4 Even if they sin against you seven times in a day and seven times come back to you saying ‘I repent,’ you must forgive them.” is the chapter and verse and as Jesus says you tell that brother what they have done and when they say sorry, it won't happen again. You forgive them, even though it has happen umteen hundred times before. Our example is God. How often does God forgive you or me for the same silly sins daily? How can we not continue to forgive an irritating brother who genuinly repents of his actions towards us. -
Give Thanks With A Grateful Heart
Who me replied to Walter and Deborah's topic in General Discussion
I don't often agree 100% but I do with these verses and what is said. What we were compared to what we are now are worlds apart. Once we were enemies of God, a disraced isolated rable, with no hope, nothing to look forward to. Now we belong to the family of God, we are valued and love a precious possession, holy nation, a royal priesthood with a place reserved and prepared for us in heaven. That is all freely given, not earnt or deserved. As has rightly been said, giving thanks in difficult times is difficult, but if we are determined to trust God it is possible and is in itself rewarding. -
Why not. To look in expectation of something one is awaiting is not wrong. For me it depends what one means by advent. In my church the four sundays before Christmas are often a celebration of the coming of Jesus and an examination of what his coming means.

I am sorry you will not examine verses that challenge your position. No doubt we will exchange views on here again. -

BB, As I have said before and will say again. If one is hurt by another who does not recognise the hurt or is unable to say sorry. All one has to do is like Jesus on the cross is hand the situation, the people, ones feelings etc over to God for him to deal with. In doing so one is starting to pray for them and it is upto you as to how far you take that. -
I hate super spiritual posts. What this does not tell you is that when life kicks you in the teeth and then knocks your feet from under you in preparation to give you a good kicking, is that it takes effort. It takes determination to trust in God. You amid all your pain confusion and the distraction of what is happening have to consiously decide to trust God It may be no more than a cry of " I don't know what going on but you are my God and I will trust in you." It is hard to do this because you have gone from a couch potatoe to a marathon runner and all you've done is one step and there are 26 miles to go. Yes ones faith will grow, just like your running ability will grow along with bleeding feet, pulled muscles etc if you jump up and try to run a marathon. Remember it is our job to support our brother couch potatoes as they try to run a marathon. Are you there and ready, alert for the signs someone needs your support?

Elijah complained to God that he was the only one left who served God. God put him right there were 7k who had not bowed to the Baals. Even from the exiles a remnant returned. Jesus has promised places prepared for those who believe. So again your basic premise is faulty. There will be an elect, a chosen royal priesthood of believes, a holy nation, a people belonging to God. You may choose not to believe it, but I trust in the amazing, unknowable length, depth, height as Nd width of Jesus's love for his people.

In order to find something one has to know what one is looking for? In your opinion what does a Godly man look like? How does he behave, speak and act? There is a post here about why do Christian women only like sinful men. Trace it and read it.

All Christians are sinners. They have only accepted God's forgiveness. The blood of Jesus hides our sins.
