Do you have a gollum in your life?
WowLookaDuck replied to The_Patriot21's topic in General Discussion
Gollum is an analogy for drug addiction. -
Those things seem rather harmless for something that's demonic.

It seems to have changed more than once. I miss the old one!

Can Depression be cured
WowLookaDuck replied to Samuel91's topic in Do you want to just ask a question?
SSRIs aren't the only option. Wellbutrin and Adderall have helped me a lot. -
Can Depression be cured
WowLookaDuck replied to Samuel91's topic in Do you want to just ask a question?
Yes, I just recently commented this on the thread titled something along the lines of "Healings." I was depressed for ten years and had attempted suicide twice. Then, during a prayer about this issue, I was healed. -
Yes, I was healed from depression, after being suicidal for over ten years. During a prayer I saw a small white figure and suddenly all the pain was gone.

Every generation has thought so.

Where can I find Jesus?
WowLookaDuck replied to TheGodMinute's topic in Do you want to just ask a question?
We don't "find" Jesus. Jesus finds us. -
Personally, I would do it, but you should definitely pray about it.
-
I don't understand the distinction.
-
Perhaps a parallel to this would be that Jesus is 100% man and 100% God.
-
Someone can't know they're in the second category.
-
Perhaps we are commanded to love God for our own good.

Humiliation and Humility
WowLookaDuck replied to BrandonRTyler's topic in Do you want to just ask a question?
Perhaps humiliation can lead to shame and shame to repentance and repentance to humility. -
Two people pray for opposite things
WowLookaDuck replied to fishergirl's topic in Do you want to just ask a question?
You've been dating someone for two years, the entire time feeling uncomfortable and as if he's not the right person for you? Why have you not ended it? The sooner you'd do it, the more merciful you would be to him. -
I have very often felt exactly what you describe and asked God the same questions. I'm sorry you're experiencing it, and I'll pray for you. A PCP can prescribe medication but typically is not the primary source for psychiatric care. And a counselor or therapist cannot prescribe medication. In order for a complex disorder such as OCD to be treated, I recommend seeing a psychiatrist who can work with you over an extended period of time on finding the most effective medication for you. I take multiple medications and they have improved my quality of life tremendously. You will be paying for the medication? Do you have insurance?

Suicide and still go to heaven?
WowLookaDuck replied to Helpmd's topic in Have a problem? Looking for advice?
I can't get away from the fact that suicide seems like a logical decision to me. Life is tiring and often painful. It makes sense to me to want to end that. If it somehow didn't hurt loved ones or someone had no loved ones then I don't think I'd be able to argue against it. -
Why the heck would there be two different gospels preached in the Bible? This is just a silly way of finding more problems to pick at.

How do you know when it's God "calling"??
WowLookaDuck replied to CaptWalker's topic in Do you want to just ask a question?
Do you pray daily or close to daily, as well as continually? -
So could I use all of this as an argument for why I can do whatever I want or am I misunderstanding it? For example, if I wanted to engage in a homosexual relationship, could I do so with this as my rationale?

Every Christian is called to evangelize. -
The last bit of what you said seems to contradict each other, unless you mean to talk about unbelievers. And, Jesus died for our sins. Which sins do you think that means? What was Jesus' sacrifice for? Are you Catholic?
-
Isn't what Jesus said here kind of the opposite of what you are all saying? "And Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” -Luke 23:34
