  1. This is something I shared with someone the other day in my salvation experience. In my own personal faith walk, I was in a period of 3 months whereby I was convicted of sin deeply ... and I felt as if I couldn't do anything without the weight of sin. In Pilgrim's Progress, it describes Pilgrim's journey whereby he was constantly carrying this burden ... this is how I believe we are when we are in our incubation state. As we struggle, we're fighting for faith. Honestly, I believe there's a lesson to be learned with Jacob wrestling with the Angel (the pre-incarnate Jesus) in Genesis 32. Before this particular night, Jacob always offered a sacrifice to the God of Abraham and the God of Issac. It was always a sacrifice to the God of His Fathers. It wasn't until this night when Jacob refused to let go -- and said -- I will not let you go until you bless me -- then God changed His name from Jacob to Israel. Afterwards, you see how Jacob offered sacrifices to the God of Israel. It wasn't until his own wrestling match with the Lord -- that it became personal for him. I believe every believe must go through his own "wrestling" match so to speak with the Lord. In the 1700s , the famous evangelist Jonathan Edwards listed the stages of saving faith. The first stage is the awareness of the horror of being eternally lost. The second stage is the attempt to stop sinning to remove guilt. The person tries to save himself any way he can, and comes to the futile realization that he cannot save himself. The third stage is the realization that the seeker cannot save himself that only God can save him from his sin. The fourth stage is the conviction that God is just in His judgment. God is just in his condemnation of sin and the penalty of his sin. The seeker comes to the place where he realizes that God does not have to save him and finds himself utterly at the mercy of God. The fifth stage when the seeker becomes to have an affection for God and the Holy Spirit pours out upon the seeker the gift of salvation and fills his heart with the joy of knowing the seeker is truly saved. Saving faith will fill a person so deeply that His and life are forever changed. The new believer is so filled with love, that the believer can't wait to be in the arms of His savior. And its this love that permeates his being and has a love that passes human understanding, even love that has the ability to love his enemies. Your brother in the Lord with much agape love, George
  2. I realize that most people praying ... do not pray as the Bible instructs us to pray. So a research paper discussing prayer ... would be different depending on the saints that were praying! Early in my walk, I read the autobiography of George Mueller, and how his prevailing prayer worked miracles! There is an effectual working prayer of the saints ... that transforms from the smallest of things ... to even nations! May I suggest reading a book, How to Pray by RA Torrey. Or Asking and Receiving by John R Rice. We'll send them to you as a gift from the ministry if you wish!
  3. It can be both ... very easily. For example, in the 1 Chronicles 21:1 Then Satan stood against Israel and incited David to number Israel. In the 2 Samuel 24:1 passage it says, 2Sa 24:1 Again the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel, and he incited David against them, saying, “Go, number Israel and Judah.” As a Father would discipline his child, it appears that God removed his hand of protection against Israel and allowed a judgment. Of course, this judgment was stayed ... where? At the Temple Mount, where later we find the Temples were built -- where God stopped the judgment against Israel.

does revelation speak of a new king

John 1:6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. Joh 1:7 He came as a witness, to bear witness about the light, that all might believe through him. Joh 1:8 He was not the light, but came to bear witness about the light.

  7. Actually the deficit is still in excess of 750 billion dollars. The issue of big govt spending is a problem with both parties.
  8. The problem is that it's all peanuts to the budget. It's not even the cost of 1 day of interest payments. Just the interest payment for today --- is greater than the entire wall!
  9. @1to3 I see the issue with the Palestinians as being used as pawns by the Islamic world around them. As they keep the Palestinians in refugee camps. The monies that come in as aid ... never makes it to those who need it. And due to Oslo, Israel and no Israelis have any ability to help any Area C areas. It's a tough situation for many of my Palestinian pastor friends of mine.
  10. Well, I can understand why people have issues with the Masonic connections to the formation of Israel -- just as the same people have the same concerns with the formation of Washington -- and if you really think about it in most countries around the world. But from a deeper level, while the enemy is at work -- God is doing a greater work! So while I'm not naive of the workings of the enemy inside of governments around the world ... I also realize that God is greater, so that's where I stand. @1to3 Thanks for explaining your ideology.
  11. The reality is ... that many things are framed by both sides just the right way for their own propaganda purposes. Let me give you an example of something I reported on about 10 years ago. It was such a bizarre week ... and it must have been over a decade ago. So it was a Friday night ... and this particular night I had this crazy dream ... where I was watching gray burned shadows with red eyes laughing as rockets were being fired. It was Shabbat morning, and I generally disconnect from the Web from Friday night until Monday morning when I'm in Israel. The reason being is that without a real rest ... you can never enter into a true rest where you're mind is free from the world. But this particular morning ... I told my wife I need to check the news. She said ...Ummm sure. So I told her the dream, so I checked. But nothing happened. However, about noon I got a phone call from a friend ... did you hear? I said what? Well, Israel just hit a Hamas graduation ceremony ... and rockets were being fired ... it started a war right at Christmas time. Now the facility that the graduation was taking place was next door to the only Baptist Church in the entire Gaza Strip. A few weeks earlier, the Bible Society manager was murdered by Hamas at the same or near the same church. That particular Christmas, Hamas wouldn't allow the church to worship in their church ... so they had gotten special permission to go to Bethlehem. So when they left for Bethlehem ... Israel didn't allow them back home, but Israel also knew that they were going to hit Hamas. So the news media reported it this way ... Israel denies Christians access back home as Church building suffers damage. How did I view it? God protected the Christians ... had them moved out of harms way ... and used Israel to protect them. Hamas was using the church and their facility as cover ... however, Israel with pin point weaponry kept the collateral damage to a bear minimum. So this is so typical of how things are reported. I remember another instance ... a stabbing took place in Israel and Israelis surrounded the terrorist yelling "Die! Die!". So the News media reported it ... Israelis were yelling Die Die as stabber was arrested etc. Die in Hebrew is literally STOP! STOP! This has happened in a church service before as my wife told my son -- Die! Die! when he was acting up and got some strange looks! Anyway, it's a different world ... and there are always 2 sides to every story!
  12. I haven't removed a single post from this thread.

  15. If the nation of Israel was involved in any way with poisoning of people with medical supplies ... it would take but one second before the world cried foul. The simple fact is that most UN resolutions are against Israel, they are scrutinized beyond any other nation in the world. Hes not banned ... in just not going to allow these types of statements to be posted on Worthy. Moderator Review is simply that ... posts are now being checked before being freely posted. That's all that has changed. I'm not ending the debate. God bless, George
