You mean I am not right?! That old sledge hammer hurts! What I want to know is when did debates and telling each other the 'truths' become, iron sharpens iron'? I love a good midrash but I am tired of the whole, 'God revealed it to me, this is what the scriptures really say' and oh the best is when someone declares I have studied/gone to school/was taught/shown this out and I understand it better than you. Ok rant over. Its not just here its all over the net! I have seen an increase in attacks on one another throughout this entire year. Wonderful people I know have gotten so hurt and burned out their faith is hurting as they look upon their brothers and sisters in wonder how they can treat one another the way they do. One gal I know said her faith felt squashed! The enemy is working over time as the days get shorter until His return. Loving our neighbor starts at home and with those in your family, if we treat our family like we treat others on the net we might start a family war. The personal attacks on ones salvation truly need to stop just because a person doesn't hold your truth doesn't make them right or wrong and standing on the foundation that one is correct is pretty prideful and we all know what God says about pride. Lev. 26:19 I will break down your stubborn pride. Proverbs 11:2 When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom. Humility, grace, humblness of the heart all go towards showing His grace and how He has worked in you and that is what we should be in constant awareness of and pass that along to others. I know how difficult it is to get ones point across and also to have a different view of things than most, I also know how it is when others address how I see things its usually not with a lot of grace but it has shown me His grace. We need to learn to apply it to all areas of our lives. shalom, Mizz

Isaiah hit it, pharoahs heart was already hardened by his own desires all God did was let him have his way and then showed him His way was the only way. We can do the same thing, if we want something really bad we can find all kinds of reasons to justify getting what we want, we might even take it to God pleading for it and He says no yet we still go after it. That is hardening our hearts to Him, failing to listen to His words and directions. Pharoah believed he was a 'god' he was the king, ruler and head honcho who got his way always, everyone listened to him. Yet when Moses came on the scene people were listening to him, kinda made the pharoah made and increased his mindset that he was the true represented of the 'gods' and he was ruler. Its always the condition of our hearts that matter to God, if we truly have a heart for Him His will would be first and foremost in our lives, pharoah didn't see it that way. shalom, Mizz

True but no Christan teachings are violated and it does in fact promote the teaching of the virgin birth and incarnation of God in human flesh. It also publically acknowledges the fulfillment of several prophecies. It is not commanded, but it not commanded against. I agree, people are hypocritical with that kind of comment and often they don't see the internal inconsistencies their own lives. I will admit that have been to several traditional Friday night Shabbat observances in people's homes and Saturday Torah services and there is something gloriously mysterious about them. Something always resonates within me when celebrate Shabbat, Passover, Shavuot, etc. If we leave off the idea that the feasts are somehow 'Jewish' we find the God called them His feasts set apart for His set apart ones, I am not saying feasts or Sabbaths are about salvation, they are not, yet they do hold the whole plan of His salvation. I do see christmas as something added to His plans, but as I said I don't see people bowing to trees, worshipping other gods at the altar of christmas, and believe me it pushes my buttons to see God loving people called pagans for keeping christmas and I was one of those vocal people some years back. (Thank you Father for your Spirit and teachings!) I don't see them in scripture, I have yet to find Yeshua celebrating His bday so for me I try to follow His example best I can. They are such a rich blessing, something that cannot really described. Each Sabbath, each Feast I keep more and more of Him is revealed, those glorious mysterious you spoke of are shown each time. God said that the Sabbath is a sign between us and Him, doesn't mean we have to keep the day as some crotchety day either as most think it is. I thank Him for every day He gives me, each day I wake is a day to celebrate and worship Him, yet the Sabbaths and Feasts are special times to meet with Him. shalom, Mizz

Is there a need to know our Jewish roots for prophecy?
mizzdy replied to Retrobyter's topic in Prophecy
Never being one to think that anyone was going to 'heaven' when He comes I can agree with you, we are gather by the angels, taken to be with Him forevermore, and where that is is where He says He will go when He returns, His feet will touch down on the Mt. of Olives. I do lean towards the very idea that we all will be speaking Hebrew when He returns. As for learning it now I know a bit here and there, but languages were not by strong suit besides when He imprints all His ways upon my heart I bet He could also put whatever language He wants within me also. I do know a few scholars I rely on heavily when I need help as well as many others I know who are fluent. shalom, Mizz -
When I taught I told all the kids the truth, about all holidays, after all we were mandated to teach multiculturalism and 'equality'. I had a number of kids whose parents had come from different countries, most at least two generations worth, who appreciated the honesty, and by the time they got into public schools they could stand and give the answers and beyond to their teachers. Schools just cannot teach what they used to teach. My congregation is full of retired teachers as well as present day teachers and oh boy do we get an ear full at oneg about how the schools are so messed up, last week we heard all about thanksgiving and the horror of the lessons involved, even the private christian school is being told by the feds what is correct to say and not. Homeschooling if it can be managed is always the best path to take at least imo. shalom, Mizz

They believe it is a pagan holiday. There is a conspiracy theory floating around that Christmas in its original form is based on sun worship and that all the customs go back to ancient Babylon and so forth. There is no real historical basis for that claim, but they operate from a revised version history. There was celebrations of this day before Yeshua was born, there is was mixing and mingling of the celebrations when Dec. 25 became the day decided to celebrate His birthday, although it was Jan. 6 that was supposed to be the day kept and understand some still do that to keep those things separate. There is history behind it all but so many just keep parroting the same stuff each year and fail to do any real indepth studies on it all. I would really love it if people would stop calling others pagans, what people do today on that day doesn't have a lot to do with any of the old pagan things attached to it. My problem with it all is that we find it nowhere in scriptures, not one word spoken of keeping His birthday, no later celebrations of it at all but people want to rush out and claim it for Him when He didn't even claim if for Himself. How often do we read something about 'I don't listen/follow/do anything unless its in scriptures' yet fail to see this is not. No matter what or how others feel God set aside His days, that outline His plan of salvation and reconcillation, God said they are His days, why cannot we honor that and observe those days to and for Him. shalom, Mizz

In Matt. 24 Yeshua refers to a 'tribulation' and then later a 'great tribulation', a thlipsis and a great thlipsis. A tribulation that has been going on for thousands of years but at the end of this age a great trib will come to this earth one like none has ever seen, Yeshuas words not mine. I am not a preterist, do not hold to it at all, I see duality in prophecies also. And please refrain from the wordings about following others words, I take scriptures very seriously, I don't take myself as seriously, none of us have it right, not one of us. I can send you a link or two that shows the difference between the wrath (orgay) the tribulation (thlipsis) and great tribulation (megathlipsis) if you would be interested. I can show the many different ways thlipsis is used the varying words used to show it, I can show the wording of wrath also, in Rev. chpt 2 and 7 as well as other places we are told of a great tribulation, a megathlipsis, we even read about the saints here during this time. We cannot avoid tribulations, we are refined by those fires we go through, the elect are not to go through His wrath, there is a difference. shalom, Mizz

Is there a need to know our Jewish roots for prophecy?
mizzdy replied to Retrobyter's topic in Prophecy
I think if someone wants to really dig into scriptures, understand the meanings in so many phrases and such we need to understand where they came from what they mean, context, content and culture are extremely important. The simple message of scripture is just that a simple message, God loves you, He sent His Son as the payment for the penalty of our sins, we are to walk in His ways and love should be at the core of every single thing we do. I also think its important to know where the things one holds dear comes from, no one has to learn Hebrew or Greek, we have great study tools for that. I find many who are willing to dig and dig for their own family roots so personally I find it odd that no one wants to find nor see the true roots of ones faith. Christianity didn't start out the way it is today, it is fully Hebraic in meanings and understanding, translating that into modern day anything is hard enough without the basic underlining message. And I do admit to being a bit on the bias side, I am what most call Messianic, some label me with the hebrew roots logo also, I see the Hebraic roots to scriptures, find that understandings of the things most call 'Jewish' are increasingly necessary to understand prophecy, not always a popular position. God says He declares all things from the beginning, that He does not do a thing without telling His prophets and we have all that written down so understanding their mindset, the mindset which the scriptures were written as being very important. Thats my opinions on the matter. shalom, Mizz -
It does! lol probably should pin this in the video section.

I do think He puts people, places, issues, etc. in our path for all kinds of reasons. Some reasons might be obvious, if we are in need of something such as guideance, food, shelter, or just a reminder of something. I have had some people come into my life at times when its been a test of sorts, others come when I need to work through something. It just could be that whoever walkin into ones life for a moment is there because God wanted us to be there to show that person was in need from something from you. shalom, Mizz

Nebula wrote a really good post. The idea that people these days bow down to trees, worship pagan dieties along side the Messiah is pretty farfetched. Its my personal beliefs that we should be keeping the days He set aside, and that mixing things up with worldly things is usually not the best course of action. Since God sent people into exile, cut them off for mixing and mingling the things of the world with the things of God, I try to not do that and for me christmas is one of those days. It is not His birthday, we are not even told exactly what day He was born just that it was during Sukkot, the Feast of Tabernacles. We should not condemn nor fault anyone on the days others have decided to celebrate, we should explore, study and find the answers to those guestions ourselves and make informed decisions based on scriptures and guideance by His Spirit. shalom, Mizz

So many are without a clue how far advanced Israel is in everything, fail to see how things in our own lives was somehow touched by something that started in the minds of the people of Israel. Wouldn't that just be awesome to have a cure and one that came from Israel! wonder who would refuse such a gift.

The Civil War was not JUST about slavery but you'd be silly to suggest it was "not really about slavery". Which laws are you specifically referring to [that God gave us]? God set the laws of everything, the rotation of the planets, gravity and the laws we live by in our walk with Him. As a nonbeliever you more than likely disagree with this. No don't think anyone would be silly to suggest it was 'not really all about slavery', Lincoln used it as a politician does, a good thing getting rid of slavery, a terrible time for all involved. shalom, Mizz

I can sympathize with you in some ways. Fluorescent lights gives me migraines if I stay under them too long they make my eyes water like a leaky faucet. The entire time we are worshipping I have a tissue to wipe my eyes, people think I am crying, half way through the talk my eyes start to dry out and when that happens I will always get a headache of some sorts. Doesn't stop me from going! I am so glad you are finding ways that you are able to go and fellowship with others! shalom, Mizz

Really! lol and which version did you sing, in a garden of eden?! I am so stuck in the 60's-70's with some others from the 80's-90's. CCR, Eagles, Creed, Queensryche, so many to list, can't say I listen to a lot of music these days but it is sure fun singing all of them on karoke!

While it is true that there are indeed people whom God hates, it needs to be understood that God does not "hate" the same way we do. When you see the word "hate" in those verses, you must not project the carnal expression of hate that is expressed by human beings on to God. As expressed by humans, hate is murderous and unredemptive. This may be hard to understand, but God's hatred does not exclude His love. God is still able to love those whom people He hates, because God's hatred is not carnal and stained with sin. It is perfect and it is righteous and it is redemptive. We don't have a point of reference for how hatred can be redemptive, but with God it is. God relates to mankind redemptively. His love, hate and other communicable attributes are redemptive in nature. God's hatred and His love can peacefully co-exist. There is no scriptural basis for saying that there are two different kinds of hate. It says in several places that God hates, for example "For I, the LORD, love justice; I hate robbery and wrongdoing." and "Again and again I sent my servants the prophets, who said, ‘Do not do this detestable thing that I hate!" and "Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated." Nowhere does it say that this hate is a hate different from human hate. That's just not biblical or true. Considering that God is not human and we are not Spirit as He is, we do not understand how God feels or sees things apart from our own understandings. God does not hate the way we do, we hate with our whole beings usually, we lead with our hearts and emotions something I do not think God does. He weighs all by the very laws that He created, when we try and break the laws of nature things go wrong, so that tells us that we cannot know the mind of God. God throughout scriptures tells us, shows us the guidelines, He shows through His word what is acceptable and what is not and that shows us at least in our terms how God sees things. Esua was not hated the way we hate others, but that God knew Esua knew better and still threw away his birthright for food when God could have provided all for him with just a bit of patience. God is righteous in His judgments always, men tend not to be as hard as they try. shalom, Mizz

We humans are advanced primates, we are also very social creatures just like Dolphins, Apes, Wolves etc. We have the capacity to reflect on our actions, to learn from our mistakes and work towards a common goal of survival while establishing the most amount of happiness possible [freedom]. We had a civil war here in America many years ago, we fought over the issue of whether it was ok to own other humans. The North decided that this wasn't permissible and the South disagreed. Let me ask a question here, where did we get our moral compass to decide that slavery was wrong? Think about that for a bit. Well if your a Christian, then God. However I know that. The question is, where did people who do not belive in God get there moral compass. That question your avoiding. It would seem that those who do not believe in God get their morality from the govt., kings, priests, ruling bodies that surround them. We can see that with each conquering countries or even down to tribes, what the strongest say rules. The civil war was not really about slavery but thats a whole other subject yet I know that is the common way of thinking for the reasoning behind the war. It is man who messes up man, even righteous rulers are subject to the decay of this world and only by the help of God, the laws He established for all creation can we be morally upright in this world. shalom, Mizz

Psychi vampires! I find that people who speak negatively all the time sure do bring a person down. Our spirits I think react to others who also know God, a negative person is not walking in the fullness of the light of God and that darkness can affect those around them. I like what Candice suggested about writing the scriptures out, or you can find a phrase that sticks in your head that brings you back to His glorious light. shalom, Mizz

I deleted the offensive posts. Grace goes along way in how we talk to one another! We are not Yeshua, we are not to take whips to one another in any shape or form. Address the op, keep it on topic and any and all bashing will not be tolerated by anyone. Catholic bashing, catholic apologetics will not be put up with period. Stick to scriptures please, if you do put a link up make sure you think twice about what it contains. shalom, Mizzdy

I'm shutting this down right now until we can get it cleaned up. Please oh please lets not make this yet another bashing thread! No more catholic apologetic sites, no more getting personal with one another either.

The problem I have is when its put forth that the law must be kept for salvation, ridiculous. I am not under His law if I am in Him, I am not obligated to keep Torah for anything other than the fact that I love Him, that they point to how we can have good relations with others, Torah shows right business practices also. I follow His Torah as instruction in righteous living, we come to Him in faith, after that the Spirit is sent to start the process of writing His Torah/instructions on ones heart. The covenant with Abraham shows how we come to Him in faith, what it looks to walk in faith and through Abraham we see he did all that God commanded him and through the Sinai covenant we see the instructions of what its like to live not only in a national way but a personal way with Him. Torah does not save anyone only Yeshua and His sacrifice, ones confession and the faith we are given in order to be able to walk in His ways. John just as a side note I would caution you not to copy and paste from other sites from posters that may be posting to them, I personally find this distastful when others take from one website and post it on another just to put someone in a bad light or whatever the reasons. shalom, Mizz

The way I kinda see it all records tell us that year of His crucifixion the scarlet thread stopped turning white at Yom Kippur 40 years before the temple was destroyed putting His resurrection in the year 30. He is the sacrifice none more were needed for atonement. Not saying I am correct just a pretty interesting bit of history written about that. shalom, Mizz

Is it the wrath that you see starting in Rev. 6? If so how do account for the scriptures further on in Rev. that show the elect still here? In Rev. 18 we have judgment on Babylon the great, which is the wrath of God. It is also the time the righteous and wicked get their rewards. God sends His angels to serve His will, we read everywhere in Rev. that angels are doing these things, of course its by His power alone that anything is done. I see things happening on a time line, wrapped up in the fall feast, I believe, are the ways to understand the end of the age. Not saying I know more than anyone else so please dont think that. I have come to see the whole plan of God wrapped up in the feasts, its truly interesting to read prophecy from a hebraic way of thinking. But I don't take myself too seriously regarding it all its interesting to talk about it all isnt it though. shalom, Mizz I believe when Paul spoke of being "caught up", this event will be sometime toward the very end of the tribulation, if not at the very end. I also believe that we will be protected through Gods wrath, not taken out of it. I can think of no better testimony of His love and protection for His people then this. I am not familiar with the festivals as most are, so I do not know when it will begin or end. I have been studying the sequence of how things appear to come about. I too enjoy discussing the end time events, though I will be among the first to admit that I don't hold all the answers. I can only go as scripture leads me. God Bless Sis. The Bible speaks of people who are in darkness and who times will overtake as a thief in the night. The Bible also speaks of believers as not being in this category. The times will not overtake us as a thief in the night because we have the program. When you go somewhere and they call out "Programs, get your Programs here" a person can purchase a program and know more about what is going on. Are we sure that when the Bible says that all are fleeing from the wrath of God that it means all people without exception? When the Bible tells us that everyone went out to be baptized by John are we to conclude that 100% of the people, every single human being in that area went and was baptized? I look forward to hearing your thoughts, NTMicaiah I like that, 'we have the program'. True, we who know Him and know the signs of His coming will not be in the dark about it, it is only those who continue to walk in the dark who will not see the signs of His coming and be caught unaware. The thief in the night is also tied to the idea of the watchman being caught asleep at his watch, he was set on fire and ended up running about half naked for all to see. shalom, Mizz

Yes, its always been about faith in Him, faith in God that He will keep His promises to His called out assembly, and we know grace and faith have always been alive and present to those who seek Him. The thing with Ruth, Rahab and the rest who were gentiles, they joined to the only body of people who knew God, it is necessary to join to those who have the same faith, the same goals, the same God, the same Messiah, the same outcome. Then knew the God of Israel was the true and only God. We join to that assembly of called out ones, I call this assembly Israel, some call it the church, it is all who come to Him in faith and when we, and all those who have come before, do this we become His, no longer gentile, Jew, greek or whatever we become His. shalom, Mizz

They had the saving knowledge of the Messiah, they knew God thats how they are saved.
