What? 20 out of 25 dating methods state a young earth? I'd love to see that claim supported.

I was thinking something along the same lines. It always helps to provide support for claims such as this.

That's because there aren't any. Insects have six legs so unless a bird nibbles off two you're not going to find any insect with four legs. This is also kind of why spiders and ticks are classified as arachnids instead of insects - they have eight legs.

It must be remembered though that the ancient Hebrew language did not distinguish specific numbers of legs. By stating that they went on four legs, it simply was referring to their ability to walk in fullness of ability. It was never a specific discourse on the scientific minutia of the different animal species.

This guy has studied it more than I. He knows the Hebrew, he knows the history. His conclusions are Biblical.

The Hebrew words do indicate that in 7 days the heavens and the earth came to exist... but do not indicate when things came to be created. Big difference.

In those times, things were known to exist when they were functional. An example of this is still seen today...

Say Bob dies, yet his body remains. Does the body exist? Yes. Does Bob exist? No...

Things didn't begin to exist, according to the ancient Hebrews, until whatever the thing was was functional for them.

So yes indeed, all you see began to exist in 7 days... but when did it all come to be created? I can't say for sure. I wasn't there. There's a history before history that we don't have access to.

Genesis was written to account for the beginning of our time, no more, no less. It's not a scientific theory or an essay... it's a simple account, for simple people, that more or less explains how things got here. God made it. End of story! You simply cannot know how old the universe is just by the Genesis account! And I don't think we're supposed to know, either. It's just another point for Satan to divide us, another point for him to try and weaken followers of Christ.

It's silly to bicker about it... when we don't even know 100% ourselves...

It is God's accounting of what happened given to the Hebrew so that the Hebrew could give it to the rest of the world for God. Now with that in mind we can know how far back the earth and everything in it were created by God according to the Hebrew calender which God gave to the Hebrews, and their calender says that it is the year 5769 as we speak.
