I believe that you are correct. "The earth was void and darkness was on the face of the deep" tells us that the earth was already in place before God decided to change what He had already created. In Genesis 1:2 the bible says "and the Spirit Of God moved upon the face of the waters" the word "moved" is interpreted from the word spelled "brood" or "brewed". If the spilling is "brood" the word would mean 'to loom or hang heavily and ominously" or "to be preoccupied with an unwelcome or troublesome thought". If the word is spilled "brewed" it means "to concoct something ominous or threatening" or "to form or develop ominously".

I speak and read Hebrew. The word simply means to hover or tremble. There is no personal or moral value attached to to the word. The same with the Hebrew "Khosekh" for darkness. It simply refers to opposite of light or illumination. Trying make the word appear sinister or apply values to it that are not intended by the author is a poor way of handling Scripture.

The words " was upon the face of the deep" tells us that satan who represents darkness was already on (or fallen from heaven onto the earth) the face of the deep which were the waters God moved or brooded upon.
Again, this is a value that YOU are imposing on the text because you are filtering the text through what you want to believe instead of letting the text speak for itself. The Bible does not mention a prior earth or recreation of earth and does not give us a time frame for when Lucifer's eviction from Heaven took place.

And it would be threatening to satan because the creation of man to replace satan would signaled the end of satan.
Where does the Bible say that man was created to replace Satan??? The Bible makes no such assertion. Mankind is a special creation and we are the first and only of our kind. We were created to fellowship with God, to receive His love and return it to Him in kind. Mankind was not "Plan B" to replace Satan.

The brontosaurus was a fabricated animal. It was the body (or partial body) of one dinosaur and the head of another, not even within the same area.

Yeah and the fossil is already being rejected as well.

Besides, what if there were dinosaurs on the ark? I don't know if there were and it really makes no difference one or the other to my way of thinking, but what if there were? Would that shake your faith?

Hi Shilo,

I wouldn't be too quick about there not being a "possibility" that there were inhabitants of the earth prior to God creating man and I will provide scripture that irrefutably proves that the opportunity did exist. Firstly we know that Angels were created before mankind. When we examine the Abodes of Satan, we find that Satan dwelt in Eden the Garden of God then in Eden the Garden of Man. They are two separate places.

Isaiah 51:3

For Jehovah hath comforted Zion; he hath comforted all her waste places, and hath made her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of Jehovah; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.

Isaiah 51:3 makes a distinction between Eden and the garden of Jehovah. We know from Ezekiel 28:14 that Satan's first abode was the Holy Mountain of God:

14 Thou wast the anointed cherub that covereth: and I set thee, so that thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.

We know from Job 38:4-7 that Angelic beings were created before mankind:

4 Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? Declare, if thou hast understanding.

5 Who determined the measures thereof, if thou knowest? Or who stretched the line upon it?

6 Whereupon were the foundations thereof fastened? Or who laid the corner-stone thereof,

7 When the morning stars sang together, And all the sons of God shouted for joy?

His second Abode was in Eden the Garden of God which in the following description bares no resemblance to Eden the Garden where God placed man. Ezekiel 28:13

13 Thou wast in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, the topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was in thee; in the day that thou wast created they were prepared.

The very end of the verse also declares that in the day that Satan was created these precious stones were prepared. Satan's first abode was on the holy mountain of God and was a covering for God upon His throne Ezekiel 28:14

14 Thou wast the anointed cherub that covereth:

We can establish that God did place Satan into this mineral garden or the Garden of Jehovah prior to man being created because God speaks of him as perfection in wisdom and beauty Ezekiel 28:12b

Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.

His creation seals up the sum of this particular creation in wisdom and perfection in beauty. Also, was he perfect in his ways Ezekiel 28:15

15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till unrighteousness was found in thee.

We have Satan residing in Eden the Garden of God until Iniquity was found in him. So unless in scripture there is another physical location that contains some of the same minerals still found on earth today as was in Eden the Garden of Jehovah, then there is a solid foundation scripturally that the earth was Satan's second abode prior to his fall...thus leading to the opening statement of Genesis 1:2.

Genesis 1:2 is a state of chaos placing the fall of Satan between 1:1 and 1:2 because when Satan entered into the garden of Eden (of man) he brought sin with him defining that he had already received his punishment and banishment from the throne of God which took place prior to the Creation of mankind.

In Christ

I believe that some of the wordings could be looked upon as a re-creation of the Earth.

One thing to note - the Lord separated the land and the water. But it never states God speaking, "Let there be land," nor "Let there be water."

These things are just there.

I firmly believe the Lord's objective with Genesis 1 was not to teach us the scienitific history of the Earth's Creation.

Try this - instead of studying Gen. 1 to learn about the Earth -

Try reading Gen. 1 to learn about the Lord's plan for redemption.

It says "in the beginning God [created/i] the Heaven and earth." it doesn't say God re-created the Earth. The earth is made of water and land and that is why it didn't have to say "let there be water" or "let the be land"...i think they came into existence when God created the earth...God can think anything into existence because He is the Creator.

Isaiah 51:3

QUOTE

For Jehovah hath comforted Zion; he hath comforted all her waste places, and hath made her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of Jehovah; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.

Isaiah 51:3 makes a distinction between Eden and the garden of Jehovah.

No, he is not making a distinction. It is what is known in Hebrew as a Parallelism. In this case it is same thing repeated in different terms. It is a form of Hebrew poetry.

Has made her wilderness like Eden is repeated in the same verse in a parellel structure: "and her desert like the garden of Jehovah;" It is called a synonomous parallel and is one of three common Hebrew parallel structures that occur in Scripture.

When we examine the Abodes of Satan, we find that Satan dwelt in Eden the Garden of God then in Eden the Garden of Man. They are two separate places.
I am sorry, but they are not. They are simply to different ways of referencing the same place.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
