Hi all, when i first joined WF i had only recently come accross the teaching that all divorce and remarriage was wrong, and it seemed to shed such light upon my experience as a non christian who married a woman previously. My marriage broke down due to unfaithfulness and i became a christian 6 mths after that.

I then divorced her 3 1/2 yrs later because she was living with another man.

After listening to the various arguements against this teaching on WF and elsewhere, i became unsure of my convictions and recanted to the position of undecided.

But now i see this last part of Jesus` commands in Mathew, Mark and Luke and there SEEMS no way around this.

Whoever marries her that is divorced, commits adultery. What say you.

i say divorce is not the unforgivable sin. 1 cor 7:27,28 says this

27 Art thou bound unto a wife? seek not to be loosed. Art thou loosed from a wife? seek not a wife.

28 But and if thou marry, thou hast not sinned; and if a virgin marry, she hath not sinned. Nevertheless such shall have trouble in the flesh: but I spare you.

i also say that some people paint with a broad brush and fail to remember that if a woman is divorced by an unbelieving husband, she is not committing adultery if she remarries. again from 1 cor 7:

15 But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace.

i also say that i, a once divorced woman, am forever grateful to God for having first forgiven me, and having ordained my marriage to my second husband, whom HE ALONE brought into my life to be my husband.

Also a woman who is divorced by a man who commits adultery, if he marries another, or even if he doesn't.

Boy I sure am glad God has sssoooo many falliable people too help Him to determine which sins He forgives or doesn't. :24:

Maybe these same people need to make a list of things God doesn't forgive for us who don't doubt God's grace and mercy that is active in our lives daily.

Sorry if my post seems snide, but it frusturates me with the unforgiving and know it all attitude of some people.

HE did not come into the world to condemn the world, but that the world, through HIM, might be saved.

My wife divorced her first husband becaused he was having and affaif with another woman. IT was the same with me. Only it was my first wife that was having the affair. We had dated all through high school

and after 11years of marriage we divorced. To make a long story short, I was working with my wifes sister. She introduced us and we dated for 5 weeks and were married. This august we will have been together for 36 years. All I can say is that this was a match that was truely made in Heaven.

When God created the heavens and earth everything was good except "And the LORD God said, It is NOT GOOD THAT THE MAN SHOULD BE ALONE; I will make him an help meet for him." (Genesis 2:18)

I believe that when Paul wrote to the Corinthians, in I Corinthians 7 he was trying to keep certain things from progressing into worse matters in the church of Corinth, remember two chapters earlier he speaks to them of a sin of incest commited (5:1). Here in the entire 7th chapter he speaks of two state one good (marriage) the other better (single). I agree entirely with what Lady C posted. But I think Paul would wish for the divorced to stay unmarried, but if they can't contain themselves to remarry. "Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband." (I Corinthians 7:2) I have heard many preach on this chapter saying a divorce person cannot remarry without committing adultery which I don't qutie see especially because of I Corinthians 6:15-20. Am I to believe God would have a divorce person to burn in their lust so He can judge their works (Hebrews 13:4). The same people who read this chapter this way-against divorce people remarrying, don't seem to paid much attention to Matthew 5:28; "But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman (or for you ladies, a man) to lust after her (him) hath committed adultery with her already in his heart."

Jesus gave a new law on this but speaking to His Apostle on the matter He said, "...he that is able to receive it, let him receive it." (Matthew 19:12). He said this to his disciples because they were saying we shouldn't marry at all (Matthew 19:10) because of the what Jesus stated earlier in Matthew 19:3-9. By the way the woman at the well in Samaria, told Jesus she had no husband. In John 4:17-18 His reply was of her having 5 husbands and one she was living with, and not one and 5 different people she had lived with, I think this speaks volumes

The passage in Ephesians 5:21-6:4 is one I think every Christian should know well before they get married. Most of us men know verse 22 "Wives submit yourselves unto your husband as unto the Lord. " But to encourage you ladies believe me you are given the easier of the two jobs. "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church , and gave Himself for it;" (Ephesians 5:25).

I really can see were the other side is coming from, but I don't think God would want believers mourning in loneliness and sexual immorality. After all He did say "IT IS NOT GOOD THAT THE MAN SHOULD BE ALONE" (Genesis 2:18).

I sure someone will tell me I way off base. But this is my opinion on the matter.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
