All great ideas. I know my folks tithe everything to missionaries directly. I advise to tithe and then give beyond to the homeless, unless you are share the gospel with the homeless when you give. I believe tithing and sharing the gospel are connected. Could easily be wrong.

This is a tough question.

GOD says by not bringing the tythe to the store house, you rob from HIM. That statement pretty much covers it all. If you rob from HIM to give to someone else, is it still robbery? You have to ask HIM.

Personally, being a part of a fellowship/congregation is part of being obedient.

Still, how you and GOD operate is between you and GOD.

Hi, far be for me to stumble you, so take or leave my words to you as just my opinion.

Firstly i must say i am concerned that you are not commited to an accountable group of fellow believers, that is to say a church.

Secondly i went through the same issue as a young Christian, and now think my giving of tithes to someone needy was not my call. Those in need have avenues which they can go to, if they are willing to be accountable and look at why they are in need.

Thirdly I believe the tithe is to go into the storehouse, and offerings over and above are discretionary. Prov 3:9+10

and that God calls it robbery when our firstfruits do not go to Him. Mal 3: 8,9+10.

I would not give my tithe to TV evangelist as they are not part of the storehouse proper, but i may send and offering if i believed God was leading me to.

However they are not accountable to me or to those God has placed over and around me for my good, so i do not support such as these usually.

For those who say tithing is O/T then i guess they ought to rip out that half, even the book of proverbs with all its Godly wisdom and advice.

I think it can be argued the amount to tithe, but 10 % is the only universal figure i have heard of.

Finally according to your faith, let it be.

Gues I should have read this before I wrote the same thing. :whistling:

lol. As above. I was just about to write the same thing as well. The tithe to your spiritual shepherds and offerings to anyone else.

(However it's not written in blood. God can still have you doing something else if he tells you specifically.)

If you're getting your spiritual food from the TV evengelists at the moment - then perhaps you should be sending them your tithe. Until you're settled in a church, anyway.

And the bible tells us that we reap what we sow. So being generous to the homeless, above and beyond that can only bless you as well.

(as you can afford it) :noidea:

Or more than you can afford.I am a believer in leaps of faith, sacrifice, and the blessings of GOD. Not like some teachers teach the blessings of GOD, but that HE will bless the sacrifices of HIS people.

Yep. I too believe in that. But I also now believe, that it's when he asks you. Not necessarily regardless. Because I've suffered from that mistake in the past.

But good point :noidea: If we trust money above God then we're making it an idol.

Since I also don't have a church I also do something different. MY mother lives in Brazil and is very involved with couples that are in Bible college. They normally had jobs and left everything to prepare to be pastors and missionaries. I send the money to

my mother and she pays the tuition and buy what they need. Sometimes she feels that the responsibility to manage God's

money is a lot but she does it with love.

Lcevallos,

Excellent example!! This is truly a prime testimony how our money should be spent. To feed (Spiritually and physically) the children of God. By supporting them you could possibly be a great tool in enabling the word to get to many that wouldn't otherwise ever receive it. God bless you and your mother!!

With love in Christ.

When one tithes, who does one tithe to since there is no more Levitical Priesthood? (Leviticus 27)

When one tithes, is it as God's tithe was set up in Numbers 18 and Leviticus 27?

Is the one receiving the tithe following the Biblical requirement of the one who receives the tithe and not owning their own land? or when did that change to the one receiving the tithe could own property?

Is there a specific verse in the Word of God that says the tithe God requires of His children was money? I can only find the tithe being crops, flocks and herds in the Old Testament. (Numbers 18) Where can I find a verse or passage that tells us that it was amended to money?

When was the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year tithe amended to a weekly tithe in God's Holy Word?

The Old Testament teaches us that the Levites were not to receive tithes from people living outside of national Israel. Can you point me to the verse or verses in the Bible where that was amended to include people all over the world?

I have so many questions concerning the tithe and hope someone is able to show me the Biblical answers that I seek.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
