sin is sin is sin...

What does God think about sin in anyone's life....

Go and sin no more....

It's not that simple when the concepts of "sin" and "freedom" become entwined. But this said "freedom" only refers to that which Man gives himself. Why should I repent from sinning or even admit to any moral failure if I'm politicaly empowered?

Are we blaming culture now for sin in our lives...

When we stand before God I wonder how that will fly with Him....

If I want truth God will bring me truth..if I want to live a lie and refuse Him I will live a lie...

it is that simple...

there will be those who will perish ..

not all will repent nor will they want too..

I read Revelation

Sometimes I think the church's biggest threat many be the church itself. What with all the corruption, scandal, and petty bureacracy. The religious authority of today are really not that different from the religious authority of Jesus' day. The irony is that Christians, a movement once oppressed by religious fundamentalism -pharisees- have 2000 years later become pharisees in their own right.

;)

You have a sad view of not only the church, but your sin. Why do you blame others for the choices you make? Why do you generalize the body of Christ as if everyone who attends church is a Christian? Why do you choose to see the acts of a few as a covering for all who hold true to being a Christian?

You have yet to learn a valuable lesson. Here is a Proverb for you to hold dear to your heart.

Proverbs 3 (New King James Version)

Guidance for the Young

My son, do not forget my law, but let your heart keep my commands; For length of days and long life and peace they will add to you.

Let not mercy and truth forsake you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart, and so find favor and high esteem in the sight of God and man.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and depart from evil. It will be health to your flesh, and strength to your bones.

Honor the LORD with your possessions, and with the firstfruits of all your increase; So your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine.

My son, do not despise the chastening of the LORD, nor detest His correction; For whom the LORD loves He corrects, just as a father the son in whom he delights.

Happy is the man who finds wisdom, and the man who gains understanding; For her proceeds are better than the profits of silver, and her gain than fine gold. She is more precious than rubies, and all the things you may desire cannot compare with her. Length of days is in her right hand, in her left hand riches and honor. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her, and happy are all who retain her.

The LORD by wisdom founded the earth; by understanding He established the heavens; By His knowledge the depths were broken up, and clouds drop down the dew.

My son, let them not depart from your eyes

I don't know I do think we make too big of deal about homosexuality right now. My opinion is we just need to be consistent on what Jesus teaches us about sexual morality about what is sin and what is not and move on. However I certainly don't want to attend any Church that encourages and blesses sin in some sort of hypocritical attempt to "get along" for politically correct reasons.

From the op what does a "gay ministry mean"? Would we have a fornicating ministry? Maybe we should to reach out to those who are living in fornication, but I just wonder what this priest was doing in his gay ministry? Maybe it is perfectly great?

Hi Essene

In the title of your post it says, How similar are Christians and homosexuals? Well my answer to this question is that there are no similarities between the two for they are totally opposite from one another. The practicing homosexuals have been given over to a reprobate mind by God because they wouldn't stop that lifestyle that is not natural but a perversion for they walk in the dark and have not the light and are of the kingdom of darkness. Christians do have the light of day and so walk in the light as Christ is in the light and have been translated from the kingdom of darkness over to the kingdom of light. Homosexuals have never been translated or changed inwardly by the blood and remained within the kingdom of darkness they are not servants of God but Satan. That being the case the church should reject the homosexual lifestyle as a perversion and have no fellowship with them less those in the church could be perverted and lured into that kind of lifestyle and it should be the other way around those in the darkness should find the light and be translated into the light.

Hi,

the pope recently said homosexuality is the church's biggest threat.

The pope sees that homosexuality is the biggest threat maybe because they have aloud that perverted lifestyle within the church instead of keeping it out of the church and that lifestle is spreading because the church has not stood up and said "NO" we are not going to tolerate it it in the church setting the threat on the run and let our "ROCK' remain steady in our midst.

here is another approach

In my city there was a Catholic priest who's church was always packed with people and he would have active ministry with gay people etc,. Unfortunately the Vatican turned against him, and the archbishop, who had done nothing to that point followed.

Are we blaming culture now for sin in our lives...

Yes. Don't you?

Fundamentally Speaking

"The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" Jeremiah 17:9

Humans Are By Nature, Born To Sin

"Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others." Ephesians 2:3

Haters Of The Living God

"But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death." Proverbs 8:36

Creatures Of Lust

"Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:"

"But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed."

"Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death." James 1:13-15

But God Loved

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

"For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved."

"He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." John 3:16-18

And Jesus Saves!

I would never blame my sins on someone else, but our culture is by no means innocent. Our culture is the reason for children being homeschooled and sheltered from the world. But as long as the Gospel and the Word of God are part of our culture, there's hope.

We are the remnant truth-tellers.

The LORD by wisdom founded the earth; by understanding He established the heavens; By His knowledge the depths were broken up, and clouds drop down the dew.

My son, let them not depart from your eyes— Keep sound wisdom and discretion; So they will be life to your soul and grace to your neck. Then you will walk safely in your way, and your foot will not stumble. When you lie down, you will not be afraid; yes, you will lie down and your sleep will be sweet.

Do not be afraid of sudden terror, nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes; For the LORD will be your confidence, and will keep your foot from being caught.

Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do so.

Do not say to your neighbor, “Go, and come back, and tomorrow I will give it,” when you have it with you.

Do not devise evil against your neighbor, for he dwells by you for safety’s sake.

Do not strive with a man without cause, if he has done you no harm.

Do not envy the oppressor, and choose none of his ways; For the perverse person is an abomination to the LORD, but His secret counsel is with the upright.

The curse of the LORD is on the house of the wicked, but He blesses the home of the just.

Surely He scorns the scornful, but gives grace to the humble.

The wise shall inherit glory, but shame shall be the legacy of fools.

Peace,

Alan

No thanks, I can do without the condescension. :)

Oh, I was not being condescending, but concerned by your remarks. Wisdom is very important to live by, to keep close to ones heart. I know wisdom has been a great friend in my life. Sorry if I hurt your feelings.

Now, would you at least answer the questions?

Be Blessed,

Alan

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
