Going back to the book of mormon ...

41) 1 Nephi 13:40 - In 1830 this verse read:

"These last records.. .shall make known the plain and precious things which have been taken away from them; and shall make known to all kindreds, tongues, and people, that the Lamb of God is the Eternal Father and Saviour of the world...." (Book of Mormon, 1830 ed., p. 32).

In the second edition (and all subsequent editions), this verse has been changed to read:

"These last records. . . shall make know the plain and precious things which have been taken away from them; and shall make known to all kindreds, tongues, and people, that the Lamb of God is the Son of the Eternal Father, and the Savior of the world. .

So, in 1830 the reader of the Book of Mormon was told that the Lamb of God is the Eternal Father, and in the next edition told He is the Son of the Eternal Father! This is a very significant change, from first of all identifying the Lamb of God as the Father, then later as His Son!

42) 1 Nephi 11:18 - In 1830 this verse read:

"And he said unto me, Behold, the virgin which thou seest, is the mother of God, after the manner of the flesh." (Book of Mormon, 1830 ed., p. 25)

The change reads like this:

"And he said unto me: Behold, the virgin whom thou seest is the mother of the Son of God, after the manner of the flesh."

So, the question is raised, which was she? The mother of God, or the mother of the Son of God? And what is more, was Jesus God, or the Son of God?

43) . 1 Nephi 11:21 - In 1830 this verse read:

"And the angel said unto me, behold the Lamb of God, yea, even the Eternal Father!" (Book of Mormon, 1830 ed., p. 25)

Now this verse reads:

"And the angel said unto me: Behold the Lamb of God, yea, even the Son of the Eternal Father!"

So again, is the Lamb the Eternal Father, or His Son?

44) 1 Nephi 11:32 - In 1830 this verse read:

Those 40 something items I listed show that the Book of Mormon has some serious conflicts in it with the bible. To get around this, mormons claim that the bible is not translated properly, yet Jesus clearly states that not one part of it will disappear. God preserves His word.

Why is a Greek word like "Christ" (Greek Christos # 5547) used throughout the Book of Mormon? Why are other Greek names in a book that should have absolutely no Greek influence?

Why is a French word "adieu" meaning "FAREWELL" found in Jacob 7:27? We know that the French language didn't even exist until around 700 AD. The 2001 by Merriam-Webster Dictionary Dates the origin of this particular French word to be from around the 14th century. This proves the book was written after the 14th century.

In the Book of Mormon, we even find a paraphrase from one of Shakespeare

Dna evidence is significant in demonstrating how the BoM is a fabrication at best. Ive put these in quotes to make it easier to distinguish between the two articles.

The DNA evidence is the last in a long line of research that supports the firm conclusion that the ancestors of the American Indians migrated from Asia. The most informative DNA research involves work on mitochondrial and Y-chromosome DNA, because they simply reflect male and female DNA genealogical lineages. Each generation, mitochondrial DNA is passed from mothers to children and Y-chromosome DNA is passed from fathers to sons. Over generations, slight changes in the DNA sequences occur, which are specific for a particular DNA lineage. We can determine the relatedness of paternal or maternal DNA lineages in human populations by comparing their DNA sequences. Closely related populations share similar DNA lineages.

Scientists have now tested the mitochondrial DNA of over 4000 American Indians from almost a hundred tribes scattered all over of the Americas. About 96% of American Indian female DNA lineages (A, B, C and D) are most similar to lineages observed in Northern Asia. A further 3%, mostly in far northeastern North America are most similar to a rare lineage (X lineage) found in Europe. It has not yet been detected in Asia, but many scientists consider it likely that it is there. The X lineage occurs at its highest frequency around the Middle East (about 20%). Detailed comparisons between the American X lineages and the Middle East X lineages suggests they are very distantly related and probably shared a common ancestor in excess of 30,000 years ago. The X lineage has also been found in DNA extracted from Indian bones at least 7,000 years old. The evidence strongly suggests the X lineage was present in the Americas well before the arrival of Lehi or the Jaredites. The remaining 1% of lineages are either complex lineages due to rearrangements of the DNA (e.g. C and D combined) or lineages found in Caucasians or Africans. The occurrence of the Caucasian maternal lineages is most common in tribes that have had more European contact. The frequency of different types of Caucasian female lineages found in American Indians is most similar to the frequencies observed in northwestern European populations, particularly Spain. It is not surprising that some Caucasian and African DNA will be present in American Indian populations due to the influx of immigrants after the arrival of Columbus.

Y-chromosome studies are not as advanced, but about 400 males have been tested from about 30 tribes scattered over the Americas. Of these individuals, about 70% have male DNA lineages that are essentially specific to northern Asia. A further 20% have a lineage that is common in Northern Asia and Europe. The remaining 10% of Indians have lineages that are considered to be the result of post-Columbus mixed marriages. It is not surprising that there has been more

If there's one thing you should do before you take any leap of faith, is research.

AyinJade has posted very concise and relevant research that demands careful consideration. Placing your belief on some things a few VERY experienced Mormons (and that's what they are, they're no more Christian than Islam or Buddhism) told you is NOT wise.

Even the Bible, whether you hold it true or not, advises against making decisions without advice and counsel, in Proverbs.

Anything worth believing in needs to be investigated. After the proper amount of research, one comes to the conclusion that Mormonism is a false Gospel, provided by a false prophet, that spits on the name of your Saviour.

I dont know what to say anymore. I'm so confused as to what to believe.

I know that i'm really really weak and i could be, well, i am deceived.

One further question. Why am i so weak and how can i become stronger in the Lord?

I don't know what made me believe the mormons, something just did, i think it was the fact that they believed in the bible in addition to the book of mormon and they prayed in Jesus Christ name. They also told me that the church became corrupted over time and needed to be restored.

Another thing i've figured out is that all of God's prophets, his true prophets came from the middle east, why would one appear in america.

Praise the Lord!

You asked how you can be stronger in the Lord. Psalms 1 addresses that. Please note the first 3 verses. Basically do not walk in the way of sinners, read the bible, live as He wants you to live, and you will flourish. Get grounded in scripture and you will know false from true. Jesus also summed it up in Matthew 22. Place Him first in your life. You will be able to hear Him better that way too.

1 Blessed is the man who has not walked in the counsel of the ungodly, and has not stood in the way of sinners, and has not sat in the seat of the scornful.

2 But his delight is only in the law of the LORD; and in His law he meditates day and night.

They also told me that the church became corrupted over time and needed to be restored.

That, my friend, is one area that they are right on. The modern-day church believes so many different things that they have wandered far from the truth. The truth is:

Jesus Christ and Him crucified, risen, and rose again. The walking, talking, LIVING Torah.

Doesn't matter what denomination you are, if you believe that and you walk in the commandments HE gave, you are my brother and sister.

The way to strengthen yourself is immerse yourself in HIS word, from Genesis to Maps. (OK, some Bibles don't have Maps in them, but you get the picture!) Start committing His word to memory. There is a Scripture verse that says He will write His word on minds and hearts. It's not enough to memorize Scripture any more, especially in these dark times---you had better be LIVING it.

Lets just be clear though. Latter Day Saints/ mormon is not a denomination of christianity. It is a cult with a false gospel.
