God certainly can make things right. I know He did in my life. But, understanding that: All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works 2 Timothy 3:16-17, Paul writes in 2 Corinthians:

Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: I will dwell in them And walk among them. I will be their God, And they shall be My people. Therefore "Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you. I will be a Father to you, And you shall be My sons and daughters, Says the LORD Almighty." 2 Corinthians 6:14-18

A marriage can work if the husband and wife don't believe the same things, but it isn't God's perfect will, and it isn't easy. Usually there is compromise on both sides In the case of a Christian and a Jehovah Witness there will be lots of compromise. If the woman is Christian (as in this case) she needs to submit to her husband as the leader of the home. So....it isn't a good situation. I pray that Pokemaughn can get his sister to understand this, and the best answer would be that her boyfriend become a Christian.

I agree.

I still wonder if this is a command or a suggestion. Obviously if we meet someone who is not a believer we can't just walk away thinking, "well, can't be friends with these people"

But, this is a discussion best left for another topic instead of deviating from the OP.

There is so much wrong about uniting light with darkness and I am very sure the Bible means it.

I also wonder if your sister really would allow their forbidding her certain medical care and to just obey blindly anything they demand of her, or to forbid it to her future children ,too?? (I doubt it, of course I don't know ).they make you sign papers for the mto use to keep you form medical helps of various types. When in time she will find objections to her entire life controlled by old men in New York City Governing Body as they are called and the ever watching eye of the governing "elders" etc, too. The forcing of door to door and they keep records on you and you are asked if you don't report in regular door to door time. If you do some imagined or supposed offence, three men take you in the back room ALONE) and it is called a judicial trial (they sit around you outnumbering intimidating no matter what your age ,including minors, interrogate and ask extremely details of your every part of life, including things they forbid in marriage relationships as their books command) (no representation for you) they decide your fate there.

People don't know what it is like to lose a family member to death from no blood transfusions allowed and such as they deal with. It hurts so much for a lifetime. I miss my step brother alot.

Some countries jws get blood trans and in USA they dont or it flip flops over the years,in older days childrens immunizations were forbidden.

In the great depression they sold super grain seed ,got in big legal trouble for selling that actuallyinferior grain seed. They were also hauled into court over alot of matters and are again these days.

anyway I dont think people really know it is so bad .

Bad enough it is not what the Bible teaches . But, this is all too much.I knew that as a child watching this ,going through it.

It took a long time to recover.

Just some thoughts on my mind about it yet.

I could write a book honestly,I could.

TRUST JESUS not CT Russell and his legacy of heretic corporation.

I wish I had not been a child door to door peddler but they made me.

Just wanted to mention,it has been some time since I was last at freeminds and it seems that it has changed now in it's focus ,more just to exiting the org etc informational in that way, org info one can buy to show jws what the org has taught and flip flopped is helpful there, its history and counter with some step by step answers to their more recent magazines they publish ,too etc and it may be helpful in some ways for many yet, deprogramming etc information for some or exjws.but ,it no longer seems to be carrying all the Christian teachings to help people in apologetics or such as one might be searching for;I think the 4witnesses mentioned by earlier by another is a good start and talking to a pastor ,too, for your sister. Her bf might find interesting some of the info about the history though and its teachings vary there though.

There are also alot of Christians books to get to help in this ,too online and in Christian stores.

Best to you,

elkie

My sister has made the mistake of staying with her boyfriend/fiance even after getting into a spiritual battle with him. He's a Jehovah's Witness, she is a Christian.

And now, after I told her, "I feel obligated to talk to him. Nonbelievers either need to get with the program or be rejected for rejecting Christ."

She responded more or less saying that "We both believe the same thing it's just different in the fine details"

At this point I go, oh great. She's already stepped onto a slippery slope, and now she's letting him change her beliefs.

Tell me, what should I do? Tell our pastor to talk with them? Something like that? She's in a dangerous position.

ask her to show you a list of the 'fine details' that are different and then go through them with her as to exactly what they mean and what she risks losing.... maybe write them down for her to look at (or come across) later

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
