artsylady, you may want to brush up on your Jewish history. i would not argue with anything you have said about Blacks, but i think you are mistaken when it comes to Jews. i don't know all about what it took for Jews to get a homeland, but i do know some things.

until the british left Israel in 1948 (well after WWII ended), the number of Jews who could enter the country was quite limited. and during this time, the Arabs were building up weaponry and attacking Jews, but Jews could not legally have weapons so their only protection were the British soldiers there (many of whom were quite prejudiced and did little actual protection). as soon as Israel was declared a nation, they had to fight the Arabs for it--with vew people and fewer weapons. as far as the world coming to their rescue, at one point in time, any American who chose to fight in the Israeli army lost his American citizenship. the US was the first to recognize Israel as a nation, but she did so reluctantly. the Jews have been fighting to keep their land ever since it was established over 60 years ago. how can you say they've been able to live in peace??

I'll reword this. Since 1948, the Jewish people were freed from those who perpetrated the holocaust and did not have to live next door to Germans. I'm using the holocaust as example of things were allowed to and should remember as opposed to things we are all supposed to forget about.

since they were in Egypt, the Hebrew people have fought discrimination and prejudice! very few people have given support to the Jews--let alone an "outpouring of support".

Many countries were involved in WW2 in freeing the Jews. With black slavery, many countries were participants, who evenually abolished it, but over a long period of time.

you're both right in saying the two cannot be compared, but you make it sound like the Jews had it so easy and that's why they are doing so well. nothing is further from the truth.

Just again making a comparison between the holocaust and Black slavery, again as what we want to remember and what we should try to forget. We rightfully stand behind the Jews in remembering the holocaust and reliving through movies and memorials and museums what had occured.

Of course there is. Nobody is denying that. But blacks are just as racist as any other class. It is wonderful to support missionaries anywhere, no matter where. The "black neighbors" you speak of (and whites/Hispanics too) have had many opportunities to stop using drugs, to pull themselves out of the "ghetto."

So we give up on them now that we as Christians have shown them an outpouring of love? Is that what we white people, decendants of their captors and murders have done?

They are kept there by the men, who refuse to support the children they produce; by the women who continue to produce children that they cannot afford to take care of, knowing full well that their "baby daddies" don't/won't fulfill their obligations. The women work 2 or 3 jobs to support their families, while the men (for the most part) sit around with their 40's and their blunts and the "crack" as you referred to. And all the while their so called "leaders" keep saying it is OK, that they are as they are because of injustices perpetrated on them 150 years ago. No mention of the lack of character or responsibility except from a few, who are then chastised by the others who make their living on the backs of those they are supposed to represent.

Does posting these truths make me a "racist"?

Why do you suppose so many black men in America are turning to Islam? Why choose darkness as opposed to light? Has the light been bright enough? Has the love for our neighbours been strong enough, or do we just see them as hopelessly lost as in the above scenario?

Because there were white people around the word creating a market for black slavery. Are you blaming black Muslims and not White people?

No. I'm saying race had nothing to do with it.

It was based on man ruling over other men. There have been slaves throughout history and many times they were of the same race as their oppressors. To make this a purely racial issue, is racism in itself.

You really think slavery in America had nothing to with colour? Blacks were enslaved by whites. There was no instance in history of the opposite happening in America. Lies about blacks being inferior, unable to learn to read, not fully human, etc, etc, etc and had no rights while white people had all of the rights. White women and men shaded themselves from the sun so that their skin wouldn't darken at all.

It had everything to do with race and skin colour.

I am talking about the holocaust and whether or not we want to remember or just forget that it occurred.

But you said that jews were persecuted 4-5 years and that is simply not factual.

Using that logic, it would be consistent for others to say that Africans only suffered a small time before the Civil War. Do you not see how incomplete a picture that paints?

I'll try this again. Seems to me that Jewish people these days want us to remember what they went through - through movies, memorials, museums, visits to former prison camps, etc. Do you agree with this?

I was trying to give you the benefit of doubt. If you do know the history and still mischaracterize it as you have, that makes confronting your revisionism a bit more serious.

I am not trying to mischaracterize anything. I am pointing to one recent event (the holocaust) and asking you if we should remember that one or forget that one? If for some reason you don't like me pinpointing this one event, should we remember all of the events in Jewish history, make movies about all of the astrocities committed, set up memorials regarding all of the sins committed against them? I am not opposed to this at all, so I don't know why you keep bringing this up. Again, it's about what we decide we want to memorialize and what we think is better left forgotten. That is all.

QUOTE

Men used by God gave Israel back to the Jews after ww2.

Do you give Pharoah credit for the birth of Israel the first time? Yes, God used him by hardening his heart so God's glory would be seen by the world.

No more than I would give Hitler credit for giving Israel back to the Jews. It wasn't the captors in either case who performed God's will. It was those fighting for freedom. In the OT, it was Moses and others, LED by God, just like men, led by God, arranged for Israel to have the nation back in 1948. (whether or not in 1948, they knew it or not) Yes, of course God heard their prayers. Do you think the men making the political decisions in that era were led by God or do you think God came down and spoke to the world, making his will obvious to all?

QUOTE

Notice the words "a good majority around them"? Especially in the south?

It's a human condition to hide one's shame. It has nothing to do with race or location.

So you think right after slavery was abolished, whites in the south who hated and enslaved black people suddenly realized the error of their ways and became shameful and embarrassed? And that was why lynch mobbings occurred, and that is why the KKK gave rise?

QUOTE

So is te support and sympathy completely unneeded, unwanted, unappreciated?

what support???

I'm saying it is UNNECESSARY for anyone in the entire world to get their value from another man's opinion, support, sympathy...whatever.

I personally think that support and sympathy are both helpful and necessary at certain times.

Didn't God reinstate Israel by using certain government officials.

Yes

Wasn't Israel in the bondage of slavery in Egypt for generations?

Yes.

Have you ever meet a Jew that doesn't remember all the atrocities done to them throughout the ages?

No.

Does not slavery lead to other spiritual bondages even for the slave owners?

Yes.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
