We all stuff up, yes we do, and I like to remember the story of the Prodigal Son and hope I have dug myself deeper into Gods heart with my frequent need for

forgiveness.

As a Catholic I attend confession at these times.

For those that have not experienced this type of confession please let me explain.

Its not like the mocked confessional scenes from two ads that we have had here in Australia one where a priest sits drooling over a chocolate bar or another where he

is perspiring over a beautiful woman's lascivious description about an erotic weekend she spent at a resort.

Another popular misconception is that simply be the act of going to confession we are forgiven and this is not true. The priest listens to us but it is Jesus who hears and

forgiveness only comes if we are truly sorry in our hearts. A prayer or act of penance is given to help makes amends. Of course we can add to this to.

I have a book about the ten commandments which helps understand how our habits can lead to sin. I'll give an excerpt from the sixth commandment but I go through all of them before each confession. I examine my conscience for;

" sins in thought or desire; in looks: bad magazines, movies; in words: jokes, songs: in actions alone or with another ( man or woman ): immodest dress, self abuse, impure touches, fornication, adultery, and so on."

Not all Catholics have been taught to do this before confession and many don't go at all.

I am a very happy person and I have a fair few trials to contend with. So I must be doing somthing right.

God bless you all

Yours in Jesus

i wasn't going to post after all the good answers you already got but i'll just add one very important thing. Expect to mess up, we all do but remember that "to those who love the Lord, all things work together for good" AND remember that not later, not next year, not when you're good enough but RIGHT NOW, you have the Mind of Christ. He lives in you to will and to work for His good pleasure. Amazing, huh?

It might be that you dont have a positive thinking about God and Jesus. One starts with small things and builds up to large ones.Mistakes then decrease at an incredible rate and the ones which are still done are realised very quickly.

All it takes is a thank you and a praise to God and Jesus and you are on your way to a mistake-less life.

Blessings

Fall flat on your face do you? You should see my nose! It's a regular occurence with me :noidea: I pick myself up, pray for help and forgiveness, and carry on. What else is a person to do?

We are only human, and I just know that there is going to come the next time, and the next.

My only defense is to try and not trip over the same thing twice. Mostly this happens when I am not holding His hand. I let go and run off at a tangent, and then trip. But He picks me up as soon as I put my hand out, and we continue my walk of discovery.

I'm curious. As we're all human, and thusly, all subject to ridiculous error and repeated mistakes...

I'm wondering, what is it that you all do to deal with that? It seems no matter how hard I try, I always fall flat on my face. Sometimes I'll go for weeks and months without any major 'issues', and then sometimes it seems I was meant to fall over! It just gets so frustrating... it's like living with a terrible roommate that doesn't respect your wishes and does the exact opposite of what you want. But I can't kick him out! I get tired of it... I want to be right with God at all times, you know? So I can better do the work He has for me... but when I'm busy scooping myself up after an error, I'm so useless to Him!

So what do I do? What do you do?

FYI I've been really disjointed from God recently, after some rough conversations with me Mormon pappy and best friend's guardian.

I used to be like you but I got tired of being tormented by the fact that I couldn't live my life without falling down. I except the fact that I am not perfect and never will be until I die. I do all that I can to keep myself from falling down but like you I fall anyways. So I just pick myself up, ask for forgiveness and move on. You know like the song says "We fall down we get up"

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
