So do Fraught and Colleen think it is better NOT to get along with people? Do you think we are safer with them being friends or with them hating us?

America is hated by Muslim extremists. We are evil to them, and nothing including kissing up to them trying to get along is going to change that. In my opinion trying to make friends at this point will set us up for more attacks, and they will have more of an inside door to do it with. They may play nice for awhile, but they will always hate the evil Americans.

There is a difference between countries and extremists. There are extremists in every country..even America.

Well the general Muslims aren't who we have to worry about either. They are not a danger to us, and they don't really like us either, nor will they because their religion tells them not to.

Right, so why not try to get along with the countries.

Because they aren't going to care!!!! Ask them. They prefer us to stay right here. Do you force yourself upon people who declare they despise you? I sure don't. I am honestly not that eager to be liked by all.

I have no problem with staying right here unless we need to become involved because of a direct attack (which is why we should still be chasing down Bin laden). Oh and they would still hate us because of who we are and to them we are evil.

Not every one in a Muslim country is an extremist and murderer. I have hope in peace. While it is important to stay strong as a people and a nation - peace is something that we should hope for and strive for. I do not condone giving up to tyranny - we are Americans and freedom should always be our foundation - but is living in peace with others who are peaceful a bad thing to work towards? I shall be accused of being naive... but this is on my heart.

Well, like God asked His own people, "Can two walk together, except they be agreed?"

What would you recommend be the foundation of this peace?

As I see it . . . according to the there will never be peace on earth between mankind until Christ comes and rules with a rod of iron . . . and even then it is only man living under restraint.

The President is not the one who invaded 2 other countries.

Yes, Bin Laden is the one to go after....if he is still alive. Of course Pres. Bush himself said that he had stopped even thinking about Bin Laden.

Thank you Shiloh. I never said Obama invaded anyone, he is the one pushing friendship on people who do not want us around is he not? I also never said I agreed with Iraq being invaded. In my opinion (and it is only my opinion) he went in to clean up a mess daddy had left behind. That is in the past now, and they hated us long before we ever invaded. If you want my source on this all I can say is it came from someone I dated yrs ago who is back home in Saudi Arabia now...yes he is Muslim.

We hate americans but everybody wants to be like one.We wan to destroy them but would not mind living in the USA.We think their way is evil but we make every effort to follow their way. The US is present day super power so we hate them or are jealous of them no matter what they do.

I went to the link and read the comments - there were some positive comments too - such as protecting our embassies against the same terrorists who claimed American lives in their attacks and to renew relations with other world leaders. I don't think it was an vilely insidious plan to gather all the Muslims together against our country...

i do not want to read anything into the post. just being informative.
