Am I experiencing spiritual warfare?

I was born and raised in church but once I turned 18 I moved out of state and went through a period of rebellion. Within the last year I started to seek God again and re-committed myself to Christ (I am 24 yrs old now), However, I do not feel right in my spirit. I do not feel peace. I am seeking God whole-heartedly but I feel like I am coming up with nothing. I have alot of fear. I don't know if this is going to sound weird or not but I have always been able to detect evilness from people, houses, places, etc. I feel like there is something always following me. For instance, I just moved into a new place and already that same fear has entered me. If I am walking around in my house I feel like something is following me or watching me. I am scared to close my eyes at night. Before I moved into my new place I was living with two roommates. One was a Christian, the other was also a Christian but had some questionable Role Playing Books around the house with references to the occult however he says he doesn't take any of it seriously and that it's just a game. He says it is no different then reading a book or watching a movie like Harry Potter. I could sense a very evil presence in the house. Most nights when I would go to sleep I would have nightmares, evil nightmares about occult type stuff that I know nothing about. What is going on. I know I should not fear evil with God that's why I'm so bothered about all this is because I do fear it. How do I know I am truly a child of God. I am very confused. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance,

Amanda

By the way, another thing I forgot to mention in the post above is that the more I try and get closer to Christ the more I feel like I'm spiritually attacked. For that reason I really didn't even want to pick up my Bible until about 6 months ago for fear of being attacked even more. It seemed like when I was off rebelling I felt no spiritual attacks but as soon as I started rekindling my relationship with Christ things seem to get more and more difficult. Anyway, any help you can give me would be most appreciated.

Satans tactic; Do the most damage to those who he knows can do him the most damage.

You have all this warfare coming your way to back you down! You plunge ahead and dont give in to this harrassment!! The reason you didnt get all this tormnet while you were in the world is because you were not a threat to the devil, but now whether you realize it or not you are. The thing is you need to use your authority and tell these demons to (go!!) in Jesus name!

You are experiencing tormenting demonsand demons of fear. They can only have as much place as you give them...He who is in you is greater!! They fear the anointing that they can see on your life and it must be an anointing that can do direct damage to their kingdom.

You talk to them and tell them that you take authority over them in the name of Jesus and that you bind them and cast them out of your life in the name of Jesus!! Do this without fear or intimadation until you get the results you want.

Do a study on spiritual warfare, this might actually be an area you are called to, that could be why satan is intimadating you.

Turn the tables on him!!

You find someone who will disciple you in spiritual warfare...become a force to be reckoned with, once you realize who you are in Christ, the devils game will be over!!

2 Corinthians 10:4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds.

When we show God we are willing to do whatever He wants He will have the opportunity to do whatever He wants, otherwise our sins, stop us from getting closer to Him.

If you are no longer living with the room mate that has the occultic items then just renounce these things in Jesus name. They have no right to influence you any more if this room mate is gone. If not, you might want to re-evaluate who you have in terms of room mates.

Not to long ago I too was being attacked by satan and his little friends. I as well was afraid at night. In fact I was so afraid that I didn't want to be alone in my own home at night. I tried taking authority in Jesus name and telling satan and his friends to leave, but it didn't work. They might have left for a day or two, but they were always back. Who helped me was Jesus. I prayed to Him with all my heart and soul. I talked to Him throughout the day. I read about Him in the bible every day. I watched programs on television about Him every possible moment I could while in the home. I bought and read books about Him, not spiritual warware. What I'm getting at is that I surrounded myself with Him. My thoughts became consumed with knowing Him. The more I learned the less afraid I was and the less afriad the less things I would see at night until I wasn't afraid any more and they were gone.

You see for me any way, taking authority over these things didn't work, but trusting and having faith in Jesus Christ did. I remember many nights when I would wake up to see my walls covered with these things and I would smile and say you can't have me, I belong to Jesus Christ. I would say thank you Father and go back to sleep. Don't trust in your ability to case these things out. Trust that as a child of Christ He will make them leave.

God Bless You

I've experienced almost the same exact things. When I was a bachelor, I could feel them in my house...even sense movement at times. I knew they were there but didn't acknowledge it. When I got married and my wife moved in, she brought it up (she's a very strong Christian), that she could feel these other presences in the house, and also sensed alot of "movement". I told her that they had been there awhile, and I wasn't sure why they were there. We began to study the bible, and play alot of Christian music daily, as I worked to get my life straight with God, the presences became thinner and less prevelant. When I was a bachelor, my life was like a wayward christian. I brought them in with some of the worldly things I was doing. I learned how to commit my heart over to God, and have just begun to feel his grace in my life. If you are single, it's hard to fend off Satan by youself. That's why it's important to ask God to guide you to a single Christian's walk, and show you what he has for you. Surround yourself with GENUINE Christian friends, and do the basics of reading the word and praying daily....THAT is SO important. God Bless You...and give you strength through your walk with Christ.

emtmedgrl,

Your experience isn't an isolated one. It isn't until one opposes Satan that he really understands the reality of the spiritual battle.

I suggest fasting, prayer, and a daily time alone with God in his Word. Feast upon it. Give yourself over to Him.

Do not fear the demonic realm. Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. You are already a victor through Christ. Satan is a defeated foe. We fight FROM victory, not FOR victory.

Until then, I would suggest you picking up this rock-solid book on spiritual warfare, but don't allow it to interfere with your time with God in His word. Allow it as a supplement.

As for knowing you are saved.

Joh 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

If you believe on the name of Jesus, placing your faith, trust, and life in His hands, then you ARE saved... present tense. For, He is life. And if we have Him we have life, itself.

1Jo 5:11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

1Jo 5:12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

1Jo 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

One of Satan's oldest tactics is to get you stalled up worrying about your salvation. It is never wrong to question your beliefs. But, once you are resolute in your commitment to the Lord let your faith be your shield against the fiery arrows that he flings at you.

Regarding the occult presence in the house. Pray that God would dispel the darkness with His marvelous light. Light dispels darkenss, and a light never shines brighter than when it is in a very dark place.

1Jo 1:5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

Blessings to you.

just a little info; the enemy doesn't like seeing this generation getting closer to our Lord and SAVIOR, Jesus. So my little love, you are in a spiritual warfare and know by staying close to HIM, the storms may get heavier, but JESUS wil prevail and therefore so will you. You must be doing a lot of great things for JESUS to upset the ... one so much!!! GOOD FOR YOU!!!! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!

I will remember you in my prayers!

Love

Kay

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
