Obama's bid for Olympics fails

Olympics are expensive these days even though we are told that there is gain.

It is Rio's time. This will be the first time a S. American city has held the Olympics.

As for losing money, once these facilities are built, would they not be used after the Olympics are over? It seems they could use them for other sporting events and recoup any losses that way.

That is a good thought Shiloh, however the truth is far from there. Much of the construction used for the Olympics, especially the summer games is temporary and they have to pay in fact to have it removed. The Olympics is so very spread out over hundreds of acres, it has turned into a financial disaster for every city that has hosted them in recent history.

An example would be the Los Angeles Colliseum......it has been put up for sale.

Obama could solve world hunger and unemployment, and prominent voices would still make up conspiracy theories and celebrate over his failings.
