Because God is full of grace for us, and because we are born into sin, and although we are to strive to be "perfect', it is goal not one of us can ever attain. :emot-hug:

God forgives our sins but why do we still have the sinful nature ?

The Tale Of Two Natures

Let me explain further. Live your life as your spiritual nature directs you.

Then you will never follow through on what your corrupt nature wants.

What your corrupt nature wants is contrary to what your spiritual nature wants, and what your spiritual nature wants is contrary to what your corrupt nature wants.

They are opposed to each other.

As a result, you don't always do what you intend to do.

If your spiritual nature is your guide, you are not subject to Moses' laws.

Now, the effects of the corrupt nature are obvious: illicit sex, perversion, promiscuity,

idolatry, drug use, hatred, rivalry, jealousy, angry outbursts, selfish ambition, conflict, factions,

envy, drunkenness, wild partying, and similar things.

I've told you in the past and I'm telling you again that people who do these kinds of things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

But the spiritual nature produces love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

gentleness, and self-control. There are no laws against things like that.

Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified their corrupt nature along with its passions and desires.

Galatians 5:16-24 (GWT)

"Blessed are those who recognize they are spiritually helpless. The kingdom of heaven belongs to them. - Matthew 5:3 (GWT)

If we live by our spiritual nature, then our lives need to conform to our spiritual nature.

We can't allow ourselves to act arrogantly and to provoke or envy each other.

Galatians 5:25-26 (GWT)

It is because we are still in the flesh, and the flesh has certain needs. All of which we are able to abuse and use to excess as we did in our former lives on the other side of the cross.

The main difference being that we have been given the tools to avoid the temptations of excess and abuse, mainly, staying grounded in the word and obedience.

1John5:4 For whosoever is born of God overcometh the world, and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

Brethren NT commentary:

This is a general truth existing in all who all been born of God. He overcame the world(John16:33), destroying the works of the devil(1John3:8), and established His kingdom and Gospel on the earth in the midst of His enemies. Therefore, he who is since born of God according to that Gospel(John1:13), shall overcome the world through faith in Jesus, the first born Son of God.

Because of Adam's transgressions, we have sinful blood, but through the blood of Christ, we are forgiven.

It's the mystery of free will. Adam and Eve did not live in awful conditions and yet they still reached out for what was forbidden. The main point is our egos are unquenchable.

Thanks for all the answers.

I got to walk in Spirit and not in Flesh. I got it.

Here is just one of many. Would you like more?

Rom 8: 3 For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the sinful nature, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in sinful man, 4in order that the righteous requirements of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the sinful nature but according to the Spirit.

5Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. 6The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace; 7the sinful mind is hostile to God. It does not submit to God's law, nor can it do so. 8Those controlled by the sinful nature cannot please God.

9You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ. 10But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness. 11And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you.

My error i should have said where does it say that the sinful nature still present once we are converted.

IMO your error is thinking that the sinful nature is a part of our makeup, but if this were true we could not be held accountable for it. The sinful nature is only in that it is the natural thing for us to do and to do right is the exception.

When an athelete/musician excels it is often said it comes naturally to them as they were often born with the physical attributes for it, likewise we being born into a fallen world and being surrounded by sinful influences and examples, do naturally chose sin as opposed to righteousness. This why those children that God takes before the age of reason can be saved when they might otherwise have been lost. God is just and wise in all His actions.

Conversion is when we surrender to God and by His power stop sinning naturally and sin being the exception rather than the nature, having now a new nature.

2 Corinthians 5:17--Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a "new creature" old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

You need to study Ephesians, Philippians and Colossians that talks about the "old man" and the "new man"

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
