I have to say that I agree. Just as there is an earthly and a spiritual Jerusalem. So, too, is there an earthly Jew and a spiritual Jew.

I am a spiritual Jew.

Any Jewish believer is both, techically, but they are called to forsake the earthly for the spiritual.

I know Shiloh is gonna beat me over the head for that one, but it is the gospel-truth.

QUOTE

You know sometimes one can handle the 'plain truth' in such a way as to distort the spirit of love with which we should deliver it to a lost world...and we should never..never...NEVER forget...that we were once lost... but praise G-d.. have now been found.

idied2...

What was this then?

Mt 3:7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them, "Brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

Mt 12:34 Brood of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.

Mt 23:33 Serpents, brood of vipers! How can you escape the condemnation of hell?

Lu 3:7 Then he said to the multitudes that came out to be baptized by him, "Brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

If your own children were headed with a crowd of people blindly pushing forward into a giant fired furnace where those who were entering were being burned. Would you casualy and kindly try to explain to them what was ahead. Hardly. You would grab them and pull them aside first. And those who were leading your children you would scold.

In CHRIST JESUS

Dear idied2...Jesus chastized His fellow Jews, Pharisees,Scribes,Lawyers and guys who were meant to set an example to the rest of the people in very strong terms because they needed to be blasted out of their state of hypocrisy and pride.

I would say as a Jew amongst His own people and as the Son of G-d He had the unique right as one amongst 'family' to speak to them in the graphic imagery that He used....this in no way sets a precedent for the way the rest of us can justify hitting someone with the Gospel rather than presenting them with it.

Notwithstanding every divine encounter warrants an individual response on our behalf sometimes firmer and more earnest than others...or again patient and forgiving as we seek to win people to Christ that we see on a daily or regular basis watering everything with prayer.

Again I would stress that SOMETIMES we distort the truth of the Gospel by our lack of unfeigned love...and I will go further and say that this has been especially true of the bulk of the Christian Church over the last 1600 years and their unremitting persecution of the Jewish people...and their unsympathetic approach to presenting them with the Gospel of their Jewish Messiah Yeshua.

Praise G-d things are changing and much of the Church is beginning to wake up to their latent anti-Semitism and the hard hard way they have acted towards the brethren of the L-rd...sometimes it seems so slow...but at least we are beginning to understand.

Oh boy....

let me guess...

Romans 2:28-29?

You are not a spiritual jew. There is no such thing.

Not only that passage, but this one also:

Gal 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

Gal 3:29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

I am Abraham's seed since I am Christ's. Why does this offend you?

And, since you are now in Christ, why do you cling to your earthly lineage with such fervor?

Gal 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

Many Jewish people have not been given the opportunity to recieve Jesus. Many have not heard the gospel. They cannot reject what Christians withhold from them.

Shiloh, this is very true, do you think that the people who never had chance to accept Jesus as their Savior have to be saved by keeping the law and making sacrifices? ( Nobody is able to do that)

In Hebrews it talks about all the faith of the saints before us,they were saved through faith.....hmm tricky question isn't it?

Do you have any answers?

Thanks, Angels :o:t2::P:P

Not only that passage, but this one also:

Let's deal with that one first because it is the subject of another thread called out of context

Paul is speaking only to jews in that verse. He is not in any way saying that gentiles become "true jews"

Why would that offend me? The Bible does say that. This is not the same thing as being a jew though. That speaks of the physical seed of Abraham.

And yes, in Christ their is no favoritism of position but there are different roles. I assume you are either male or female, right?

And, since you are now in Christ, why do you cling to your earthly lineage with such fervor?.

I am not jewish.....I just can't stand to see the Word of God being misinterpreted.

Rom 1:7 To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

That sure sounds like all of the saints, jew and gentile, to me.

Gal 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

And what "role" does a jewish believer have that a gentile believer does not?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
