Blessings,

IOW, when on the brink of death, why not just name and claim life and you would never die?

There has been many testimonies concerning believers on their death bed, because of cancer etc, and having faith, named their healing, claimed their healing, believing it in the Name of Jesus and received it (healing).

For that matter, why not just go to the graveyard and name and claim them all back to life? :emot-fail:

Or go to the hospitals and clear them out by claiming healing for all the patients?... Why not? It wouldn't hurt to try :noidea:

Or in Daniel 3:17-18 which says: "If we are thrown into the blazing furnace,( name it)... the God we serve is able to save us from it, (claim it and believe it)

and He will rescue us from your hands, (and they received it)

But even if He does not we want you to know, O King, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up."

Thank you also Wyguy for explaining the movement...jotful

I do not ascribe to "name it, claim it" as I understand the whole movement... however, I find this passage to be absolutely true...

22"Have[f] faith in God," Jesus answered. 23"I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. 24Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. 25And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins."[g]

I don't know anything about the movement, but this verse sums up ...name it, claim it and believe it you shall receive it.

Can someone explain this movement?

it is out of context is what is happening, they have left out the condition that was set upon us... man.... part is our faith, another part, is (just waht is listed here) IF YOU HOLD ANYTHING AGAINST ANYONE, FORGIVE HIM..... hmmm forgiveness.... how many here are holding unforgiveness?????

how many here have offended their brother and have failed to go to their brother and make ammends????

conditions.....

mike

ok getting more information...thanks..jot

I didn't see much of the information on board, until I posted my answer. I want all to know that I was answering according to a true believer with faith in God...jot

They seem to leave out this scripture.

1Jn 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

We have to ask in God's will, sometimes our will and our desires are not in oine with His.

Amen! Great point! :emot-fail:

'wyguy' date='Nov 13 2009,

So guys, what do you think about the whole "name it, claim it" controversy? Is it Biblical or not?

John 14:23--Jesus answered and said, unto him If a man love me, he will keep my words: (his commandments) and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

1 John 2:24--Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning, If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.

It is us that follow's the Lords commandments And We Do Not Command God what to do. It is GOD who Command us what to do

We do not name what we want then turn around and claim it.

The word says, in the book of James that we have not because we ask not, now their is no instructions for us to Name it and CLAIM it

not, being that everything (except Gods unconditional love for us) has conditions on it..... even our salvation is conditional, we have to accept the gift.....

as far as other stuff, we are instructed how that is to come about, and it has nothing to do the blabbing it and grabbing it....

seek ye FIRST................THEN................ (CONDITION...)

IF, THEN constitutes condition....

when it is said that He will give us the desires of our hearts, what is really meant? if we are truely following HIM, then the desires of our heart are no longer about us, it is about Christ and those that we are to be serving, those lost souls and bringing them to Christ, not about a car, or phone or junk like that, but eternal desires.....

John 6:33--Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you. (Spoken about chapter six as a whole)

It is the belief that anything you tell God you want or need, he will provide. IE, Say you have Cancer. To a NICI believer all you have to do is say that you need healing (Name ) and then profess that God will do it (Claim It) because he HAS to, according to scripture.

Basically it is a system of giving commands to God.

The scripture you quoted was Jesus talking to the disciples before he sent them out 2 by 2 to preach. He was telling THEM what power THEY could access on that particular mission trip. The scripture is misapplied by the NICI crowd.

Yes, I know - It is, I believe, how they can justify what they wish to promote.

Well, that scripture has always been a very presence help in times of need, trouble, and comfort to me. It has always been a comformation to me from God, as long as my need is lined up with His Word, and I believe in my heart, it shall be done.....jot :emot-fail:

That's the key, jot; as long as our need is lined up with His word. :noidea:

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
