I try to keep my eye on the Cross, but I fail. I am blessed because God realizes my intentions and helps me, through the Holy Spirit, to refocus on the Cross. That is how I strive to obtain righteousness, which I always fall short of on my own.

I strive for righteousness, to live pleasing to God. But because I am human, I do not always meet the standard. Romans3:23 mentions how we have all fallen short of the glory of God, but Romans8:1 mentions how there is no condemnation for those in Jesus Christ who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit and Romans5:1 and 1st Corinthians6:11 says that we are justified by faith. 1st John1:9 says that if we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Therefore, inspite of the fact that I am not 100% flawless, and that I have short comings, I am forgiven, justified, I am cleanses from unrighteousness and can stand before God as if I never sinned.

The bolded is why I don't believe anyone can say they are 100% righteous.

if anyone says they live completly righteously then they commit unrighteousnes by lying and bragging about their personal righteousness. None of us are righteous apart from the grace of God.

Hi fremont

My righteous lifestyle is filled with failures

But, what I love most about myself is that God still uses me inspite of all my failures. :emot-handshake:

Keeping yourself in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. And of some have compassion, making a difference; And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire.....Jude 21-23

Blessings,

Nikki

"Lifestyles" are not righteous. Only Christ is righteous. Even if Christ were 100% my "lifestyle" I would not in myself be righteous. Christ is my source of righteousness.

Yep, I have no righteousness of my own. I totally rely on the Righteousness of Jesus Christ to make me acceptable to the Lord.

Fortunately God's mercy and forgiveness is new everday.

LA 3:22 Because of the LORD's great love we are not consumed,

for his compassions never fail.

LA 3:23 They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

NIV

Some other Bible versions have "for his mercy never fails".

God is merciful each & every day to His children. We are under the Blood of Jesus.

i am living a very sinful life, disobeying GOd's commandments...but when i offend God I still chat on Christian message boards

may God have mercy on my soul

Fremont -

I do not know if you are expressing this out of condemnation that you just aren't perfect, or if you truly are choosing to ingage in (an) acitvity(ies) you know to be sinful but can't get yourself out of.

Either way:

1 John 1-2

5 This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth ; 7 but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. 8 If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.

1 My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous ; 2 and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins ; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world.

If your concern is the latter, you can be freed from it, but it does take some work and determination. Perhaps go on a fast. Perhaps seek accountability. Whatever the case, continually cry out to the Lord - confess the behavior for what it is, ask for His forgiveness, confess the power of the blood of Jesus over you and your sin, and ask Him to break the power of this sin over you.

If your concern is the former, remember Hebrews 12:1-2 - 1 Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Laying aside the sin that entangles us actually means don't let it get you down. We are flesh, we will fail - just surrender your imperfections to the Lord and move on. We are all works in progress, after all.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
