Grace to you,

It's my understanding that the term Jew came into play after the first dispersion of Israel from the Land by the Baylonians. The subsequent return was primarily by the Tribe of Judah and Benjamin. The other tribes minus the Levites were lost to history as they became intermingled with other races. Thus Jew meant from the tribe of Judah.

There are three lines of peoples from after the Flood. They come from the three sons of Noah. Ham, Shem, and Japeth.

These lines of peoples would come to be the progenitors of all the races afterwards. The Hamitic, the Semitic, and Japhetic. :emot-highfive:

The Japhetic are the caucasian races. :emot-highfive:

Peace,

Dave

Grace to you,

Abraham was from the Semitic line and so are the Jewish people.

It's interesting to look at the blessing God gave through Noah for these boys;

I believe that races came about because God seperated man kind at the tower of bable, since thier tonuges were confounded this caused them to migrate in all decrections. from this point genenitics played a role, and I also believe in adaptation, where we will slowly adapt things such as dark skin if we live in a hot climate, althoug the eskomoos who are believed to have migrated from S.E. Asia still remain dark skinned. so maybe it takes a lot longer than several hundred years, this is not evolution by the way. before the flood is not revelent, because only one family survived the flood, and re populated the earth. As far as Judism, Abraham was a Caldean, the region of Iraq today. the bible also records marrages to many other peoples, altough God commanded them not to take wifes from the heathen, but Israel was in Egypt, Babylon (modern day Iraq)Persia (IRan) and different parts of Africa and Europe, many have also converted to Judism increasing the percentage of nationalities within Judism. The name Jew comes from the tribe Juda, which was prophesiezed to produce the Messiah (Jesus) Jacob produced all decendents of Israel, including Juda. Juda and Israel were separate nations after Soleman but have be rejoined since they became a new nation. this was all prophesiezed.

Well, for one thing, Jews are of all races, Germans are not distinct from other Caucasions and I'm not sure about the rest. The races are best understood by examining the area of the world the ancestors came from. It's all about climate, IMO. Far north and cold = light skin, which allows more absorption of sunlight. South and warm = darker skin, to limit the absorption of sunlight. The reason there are more races now is because the world is filled with people whereas, in Noah's time, there were very few.

Actually, some folks believe there could have been 6 billion people on the earth at the time of Noah. :emot-highfive:

All from Adam and Eve Right! What about the race that was on the ark, did all of the race evolve according to the environment?

Actually, YES! The Word of God states that this is the case and I believe it. These folks would have come from Adam and Eve. :emot-highfive: As I have already stated, there could have been upwards of 40 billion people on the earth at the time of the flood. :whistling:

Given the situation with longevity and the ravages of disease not being as rampant. Theoretically and Mathematically, it is possible. Men were killing each other in acts of murder and through accident but were not as inclined to die of natural causes. :24: Thus their child rearing ages would have been drastically expanded. We know from the Bible that some men of old were notorious in their capacity for sin and the ability to dream up new sin.

In a Juxtaposition what longevity has been lacking today, technology has more than madeup for. We live in a time not that all uncommon from Noah's for the capacity to sin and the notorious ability to dream up new ways to achieve our sinful thought's. :24:

Then again, it is plausible that there could have been up to 40 billion people on the earth at the time of the flood.

But, if the statement below is true, what then? The Bible never mentions advanced technology. :24:

From the ldolphin site...

"If the population reached over a billion, there would tend to be some logistical problems in feeding and caring for the population (clothing, housing, jobs, etc). This indicates that they would have required a higher level of technology than what we currently give them credit for. Had their population reached over 10 billion, they would have required similar technology as we have today (rail, refrigerated shipping, sophisticated farming methods, fast and reliable communication, etc)"

The ancient people were far more advanced than we give them credit for. I doubt that the the antedeluvians (pre-flood people) had trains and cars and so on, but consider the Egyptians... It took far greater technology to build the pyramids than most archeologists believed the ancient Egyptians possessed.

The Pantheon in Rome demonstrates as very advanced knowledge of physics and is an engineering marvel even by our standards. The mystery of the Pantheon is how the dome was constructed. Scientists are divided over how it was done and if the Pantheon was built in one piece or if the dome was built separated and added on later. Either way, the technology required is more advanced than what our current knowledge of ancient Rome allows for them to have.

God's destruction of the antideluvians was so complete, we may never know just how advanced they might have been. We see the ancients with nothing but sticks, clay pots and mud huts, but that image, is probably very inaccrate.

Amen Brother!

Also, if you will note, archaelogists are always finding inexplicable technology in ancient sites. :horse:

There are cities undersea just off the coast of some Nations like India that show knowledge of technological advancement that is placed at a very old date.

As you have said, the destruction of the flood was so complete that we may never know the extent of their knowledge and are only seeing a shadow of it through archaelogical discovery.

Peace,

Dave

thanks for all the replies and not treating the question like it is stupid and something is wrong with me for asking questions. As far as the question, it takes a lot of faith to believe that humanity as we know it today all came from 8 persons. And even at that point in history inbreeding was . When i witness to people in the streets and get questions such as this one, and then learn what most christians believe i understand why we look the way we look to the world. At any rate, we must chose to believe or not to believe. Thank God salvation is not based on Genesis :taped:

still not sure if being Jewish has to do with birth or religion. Were they set apart by God because of race or following His law?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
