I believe in prophets. I believe they exist today. I believe God can give people visions. BUT

Recently I've been going to a charismatic church. My impression after four visits is as skeptical now as it was the first day I came to the Bible study. In this group of people, everybody seems to be a prophet or have a spiritual gift of some sort that they aren't afraid to talk about. This is okay. People have gifts. People see visions BUT

Is everybody a prophet? How often do we have to be correct? I thought we had to be correct 100% of the time. So if these people are not correct with one of their visions doesn't that make them a false prophet?

Serious stuff. Unfortunately, I don't think these people take it very seriously. In fact, I have a feeling they just blurt out whatever comes to their tongue at the moment and assume it's from God when it is only their own human premonition.

I believe in prophets. I believe they exist. I have had visions of my own....BUT

I am VERY hesitant to share my prophesy because I do not know 100% that it is from God. I know that Satan has the power to intervene. And that is enough for me to hold my tongue. What they say does not match up with scripture. What they say is not 100% accurate. But what do you do?

Why do these people need all this supernatural healing and spiritual gifts to feel God? I mean, these things are good and real but I think in this case people have taken it too far, abandoned the truth, and serve themselves. I have a feeling that this church is in danger and has been attacked by the enemy. You want to hear something really supernatural? While one woman was false prophesying to me about a vision that she had about me, the holy spirit Himself came into me and did not let me hear all of what she had to say. This same thing occurred when the pastor placed his hands on me and proclaimed to have some psychic ability. The holy spirit's supernatural power deafened me. How is that for spiritual warfare? Our God PROTECTS!! :D

I went to one of their services on Sunday just to check it out. Was deeply saddened by their love of each other...obsession of each other...human worship. I'm afraid that's what it is. And the little devil almost got me again. I became jealous of their gifts, their healing, their prophesies, tongues and supernatural power. I started to think that I'm not special. God doesn't love me as much as he loves these people. Because these people have real gifts. I have, well, no gifts. But God heard my cry and I can see this for what it really is. Our God opens are eyes!!

So tell me. What would you do if you were in my situation? Would you walk away or tell these people they are wrong?

I get your point, when someone says to me "brother I feel God has this message for you" I am always very careful. If God has a message for me, I guess He is going to tell me directly 99.9% of the time. What the person is often saying is "I want to tell you something, and I will hide behind God in order that I hold no responsibility for what I am about to say".

I would much rather a person said outright, "I need to tell you something"...

I would pray God's healing for them and then, walk away. This type of thing is not of God and it seems you have realized that already. You can find a church more in line with the Bible, Or'el; you will be much happier and a better servant for the Lord.

It is bittersweet because I enjoy the fellowship. I will start looking for a new Bible study next week. I thought I could avoid their tactics or maybe get used to them after awhile but I sit in study constantly on edge. Someone is telling me to run out of that place but at the same time I feel like maybe they need me? Maybe they need someone to bring them back to being human again?

What more prophecy do we need? We have all we require in the Bible.

Next time someone pulls that, "I've got a prophecy" stuff, tell them, Biblically, you are allowed to stone them if their prophecy turns out to be false.

Sadly, many well meaning people are completely in error - and worship the so-called gifts instead of the gifter. I wouldn't be jealous of their gifts, probably most of them are heavily annointed with their own human spirit. Many wouldn't know the real spirit of God if it knocked them in the head. First of all, God gives the gifts TO WHOM HE WILL, not to the entire church. You feel funny about a lot of it, because these people have deceived theselves into thinking they are surely God's chosen and they are operating in the carnal realm, not the spirit of God. Personally, I would not stay at that church. I feel pity for churches like that, it is so sad to see all the emphasis on the "supernatural" instead of salvation, healing and the fruits of the spirit. Will pray God leads you in the right direction.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
