It sounds like you are using drugs to medicate your pain. Drugs are of course a sin, but many Christians have come through drug abuse, I would seek medical help and start to work on the issues that cause you to want to numb yourself. None of that denies your faith in Christ.

Treetop -

Instead of thinking God is not healing you because you lack faith, rather think that He's making you exercise in order for you to build some muscles, to work discipline into your life.

And as far as everything being taken from you, I don't know your circumstances, but I am reminded of a line for the song "Through Heaven's Eyes" from The Prince of Egypt about losing everything.

I recently dealt with this kind of struggle, and this song truly blessed me. I hope it does you, too.

Before I head out to the VA...a few thoughts to clarify.

All I have seem to have left in my life is my drugs. When I talked about what has been taken away...I was only speaking of people in my life...well, those that have been a part of my life. I'm really not blaming God for that as all my fingers are pointing right at myself. I guess it's my crazy way of talking about the damage done. The line of wreckage from my actions is long. God is not to blame for that, I am.

I did make an appointment for an evaluation...that will be on April 1(how appopriate huh?). A little over a month away.

I think that in my original post, the confusion I have concerning healing got the best of me. I do not seek an immediate deliverance(I actually don't believe that really happens, that would be too easy). So I think that's why I asked about faith cause I've been told it's lack of faith that will hinder God in how He works in my life. I don't know if any of this helps. After reading the replies, I'm thankful yes, but I feel so cut off.

For a while I did go to AA. I came out of that more confused than ever. What it came down to was that my own perception of who God is was really twisted. I followed that to the "grave." I never did buy into the disease theory...blaming my addiction on a disease was way too easy. I sort of get the part now where my sin has held me so long that efforts to calm the storm have been taken out of my hands. That's why I say I'm out of control. And, since I can not seem to have even that mustard size seed of faith,...I call a doctor.

Maybe I've made a bit of sense to someone. Maybe not. Either way, this is how it is today...and with a month to live before my appointment...I hope I make it.

Thank you for all your encouraging replies. God Bless yall.

I'm putting you in my prayers, Treetop, and I will continue to pray for your deliverance. There's nothing wrong in what you posted; no one can help you, not even God, unless you want help. It's apparent that you do. May he bless and keep you.

Randal..(()) buddy.

Luk 7:47 Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.

Luk 7:48 And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven.

The amount of our sin will not keep us from our Lord.

AMEN! There is absolutely nothing that Jesus can't or won't forgive, if we just repent and ask Him! What a wonderful Saviour we have.

Hi,

I want to thank you all for your prayers, your words of encouragemnt, but most of all, the simple fact that you are there. I know it's been a while since I replied to anything said here to me, so I want to take this opportunity to share a few things that have happened with me and...my faith in my God.

Last Sunday was the last time I either used drugs or drank. I'm not into counting the days as I've been through that before and always thought, it was only today that mattered. I saw too much of how time in being clean was only time and nothing else. Maybe that's ok for some, but I want to live.

Through a friend I was given a link to a website(settingcaptivesfree) that one of the things availiable to me is a daily working through this, my addicitions, both concerning the physical part and the spiritual part of me. I'm on day 7 with that and am committed to the full 60 days. I have reached out and asked another to help me with this...and it's happening. I am seeing everyday now that God is working in my life. My thoughts of all this, changing bit by bit. Although very intense, I look forward to each day's lesson.

I've not posted very much on the boards here since I got involved with this. A couple of song lyrics I think. I've thought of talking about this but until today I didn't really know how to go about it. Maybe my hesitation to post is due to my emotions at times this week being a bit erratic. I've settled down a bit now, well at least I feel more calm than I have other days this week. And something happened today which is really cool and I do want to share this with you all.

Yesterday I learned a bit of, well let me post the verse first.

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Hebrews 12:1

The throwing off of things that have hindered me, going to bars, and, who do I hang out with, my friends. The part concerning my friends was hard for me. Something happened today to help me put all this in perspective. This is the good part.

Before I became a member of Worthy, I had isolated from my bro who I know does care about what happens with me. I care about him a lot to but I sure didn't show it for a long time. I've known him for several years now, since coming to San Antonio. I quit calling him, no emails, nothing. This morning, right as I'm about to do some errands, guess who shows up at my door??? Yeahh, my bro. I couldn't hug him hard or long enough it seems. We spent several hours together, sharing what's happening in our lives. And praying together. You know I'm so blown away with how God loves me, my friend back in my life, my brother. After last night with struggling about all this, there he is with that huge smile of his. I thank God for, well, He sure knew what I needed today.

I sure know that there is a lot of hard work to be done, and now I do know that God will provide. I'm encouraged to keep moving forward. My faith in God, becoming more real to me than ever.

Again, my heartfelt thanks for yall. God bless yall.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
