It's Not Saturday Delivery That's Hurting the Post Office

Tuesday, 02 Mar 2010 07:35 PM Article Font Size

By: Jim Meyers

Facing mounting debt and a projected loss this year of $7 billion, U.S. Postmaster General John E. Potter said Tuesday morning that mail delivery must be cut from six days to five for the U.S. Postal Service to survive.

But critics say eliminating Saturday deliveries won

Sister,

My only retort will be the now immortal words of Danny Williams Premiere of the Canadian Province of Newfoundland. When given the choice of Socialized Health Care or the Free Market, he said;

"This was my heart, my choice and my health,"

"I did not sign away my right to get the best possible health care for myself when I entered politics."

For an American this Health Care plan is like the dumbing down of our Public Education system. Simply because some kids just don't get the fact that two plus two equals four we'll make an allowance for kids who believe it equals five. Because some do not wish to have or do not have access to Health Care, which is a bold face lie here in America, we will destroy and dumb down the whole system.

Peace,

Dave

I don't think you are hearing me Dave. Did you read my large post?

You still have yet to demonstrate that your broad statement 'socialised health care will kill' has any merit whatsoever. This isn't about what is best, no one is arguing that which is best, but just that it doesn't kill.

Sister,

I read it allright, which is why I quoted Danny Williams. Should we get Socialized Health Care here. He will lose his freedom of choice and be at the hands of Doctors who are less capable and bureaucrat's of the likes of his own Nation's who base decisions on cost of federal Dollars rather than what's best for the patient. The quote speaks volumes. It leaves the American citizen in a vulnerable position of sub standard care. Sub standard care leads to more death.

Peace,

Dave

Substandard care is better than nothing, right? Patients who access socialised health care because they cannot afford private health care are receiving health care that they otherwise would not have received.

Socialised health care is not tasked with keeping everyone alive. It is not meant to be a replacement for the highest standard private health care.

I understand your desire to not have socialised health care in your country, but not your insistence that all socialised health care kills. I live in a country with semi-socialised health care, and have used it for procedures that I would not have afforded otherwise.

Last year I spent two weeks in hospital. Once to give birth (with complications) and without the free service, I would have been in enormous trouble. Another was a few weeks later to deal with a massive infection that was missed by my private doctor.

Go figure huh.

This is not the case in the U.S. though. You are operating on a faulty premise and buying the Big Lie being propagated. Folks are not dying in the streets in America and folks are not having care withheld from them.

I was in Washington, D.C. this past Sunday afternoon Ministering to the Homeless and met a fellow who is 86 and had just gotten out of a combination of the Hospital and a Nursing Home/Hospice for the last 8 weeks. He was assaulted, beaten, and almost killed over $20.00. :whistling: However, he had received care and had even been resting in a Nursing Home/Hospice Center for the last four weeks. :whistling:

I'm certain he doesn't have one thin dime to pay for any of it and neither does he have Insurance. Yet, he received care.

Had he been at the hands of Socialized Medicine I'm not certain he would have gotten the same level of care.

Peace,

Dave

Actually,

The private mail services in the U.S. have prospered and flourished for years and still do despite the electronic age.

Take for example; FedEx. :whistling:

Yes, Andy, Socialized Health Care will kill more people. :whistling:

Peacce,

Dave

Call Fedex in the morning and ask them what it costs to have them deliver a first class legal sized envelope to LA and to New York City.

Yep,and that's why my insurance premiums are about $17,000 a year..... and he doesn't pay a penny...... and that's not right or fair or ethical or cool.

But, this health care plan will not fix this problem....... and we don't need it. But we do need to lower the prices and that is a whole different direction from almost all of this bill.

Sam,

That doesn't mean that Socialized Health Care is the answer or is going to alleviate the problem. Have you seen what the Government pays for Ball Peen Hammers and Toilet Seats lately? :whistling:

Dave

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
