It makes me very upset when someone brings up my nasty past. But I want to stop getting upset because me being upset does not glorify God. I am going to try my hardest to instead give praise each and every time that ugliness is put in front of me again.

I've tried to use my testimony to bring people to Christ but I think I've failed. Maybe my testimony isn't good enough. I just recently shared my story with a family member who is pagan. I want so desperately for her to turn her life to Jesus but she says she believes in many gods and goddesses. The thing is she has many mental illnesses which I used to have. Mine have completely vanished and hers just get worse. I think she has a new diagnosis every year. Why can't she see that her religion isn't working and that mine (the real God) does! He can heal her of all these problems but she just doesn't see it. :taped:

Anyway, sorry I've rambled. The poems I recently came across were so terrible. I wish I could share them here but I don't think anyone (myself included) would appreciate them. Satan definitely had a tight grip on me.

It's not your job to save anyone. That job belongs to the Holy Spirit. All you can do is use your testimony as the Lord leads, and then leave the rest to Him. The more times you do it, the easier it gets and the more people will be affected by you.

The parts of my past that do not honor God, I discard. There is no need to aid the enemy in his reminding us of how wretched we were, our memories do that enough. As for old acquaintances that do Satan's work through them, I no longer have anything to do with them unless God leads me to them for His purpose.

Do you ever come across something or someone that reminds you of your destructive life before you came to Christ? How do you handle it?

There is also someone in my life that likes to bring up past incidences. I get upset, but I really should be praising God that those sins are no longer with me. It's difficult though.

Much of me would very much like to forget the terrible things I did.

Yes I have dealt with someone (right in my household) that use to remind me of pass lifestyle. The only way I was able to handler it was when I realized and brand it in my heart, WHO I AM IN CHRIST JESUS. The answer lies in II Cor. 5:17: Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold (look at, survey, observe, check out), all things are become new.

Or'el, where would we be if someone hadn't reach back in their pass and share with us their testimony and the powerful saying grace of Christ. Here on the Worthy board testimony after testimony is shared with someone who feels that they are the only one thats going through a certain test in life. The enemy is the father of lies and the author of confusion, he uses those who are close to our heart to bring hurt into our life. Just count it all joy that when "this person" bring something up, listen and you will hear... its spoken in pass tense, it's always...."I remember when you use too." And if the enemy bring something back to YOUR mind...just smile, give him a  and boldly say, "PRAISE GOD..JUST LOOK AT ME NOW!!"

Your pass is a glance of how great and merciful God is, and its hold power in helping to set the captive free. Allow the Holy Ghost to share whats needed for such a time as this. Leave the people and rest up to God. Pass burdens are too heavy and God never meant us to carry them.

Be blessed (and you are),

Joyful :noidea:

I think it's something to rejoice over when you see what a darkness you've been delivered from. And as much as we would love to, the only person who has power to deliver people from their current evil ways and turn to Jesus, is the Holy Spirit. The only thing we are called to do is pray for them and love them. I do this for that witch I told you about. And I'm not using it as a curse word, she really is a practicing witch and such a deep darkness is in her soul. I just keep doing my duty to love and forgive.. God will take care of the rest.

One time she hurt me really bad (verbally/emotionally) and I literally could not get off my bed for three days because I was so heart broken. I called out to God finally saying, "Lord forgive her", I was in my mind thinking just how bad she is going to have it in hell for what she did and I couldn't stand it.. I couldn't let her fall into the hands of demons who tormented me. They were evil and cruel to me, but to her (because she was deceived) they were sweetness and pleasure. Wow, what a trap! So when I prayed "Lord forgive her", suddenly there was bright light that entered my room from behind me and the figure of a man was standing in front of me clothed in light. I was so shocked I thought there was a car behind me so I turned around to see. An obviously there was no car I was on the second floor! LOL.. but you get how bright it was. Anyway, I didn't know what it meant for that figure to be in my room but I was just praising God He was going to save her. And so I released myself from any sort of responsibility to save her... like some of us have said here, only the Holy Spirit can do that. I just have to love and forgive freely.

This person is in my household too which makes it really hard. I have told this person to not say such things but he continues to do so in a joking fashion. But I don't think it's funny.

I just recently came across a bunch of nasty poems I wrote and it's heartbreaking. It seems like it was a totally different person writing these poems. I think it was.

It WAS a totally different person, Or'el. When you were born again you become the new and improved Or'el. And God no longer remembers the old one. :whistling: Whoever is bringing up the past, just remind them of the following.........

1 Peter 1:23

23For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God.

Blessings Or'el,

Our testimonies are like farming when I was a little girl. We didn't have the powerful equipment thats available today. Everything was done by hand. Paw would go out and check to see what the land needed. Early the next morning, just as the sun peeked he would take the mule and plow all day, turning that dirt over and over. The next day was spend putting the fertilizer in. Next we would come, some putting in the seeds, others hoeing the dirt over it, others carrying buckets of water to pour over it. Everyday something was done out in that field until harvest time. I only help plant and would return home from that summer vacation. I wasn't there to see the harvest, but they made sure the harvest made it to us.

So is your testimony, God has planted you as an example and a witness for kingdom building. You are to follow the directions of the Holy Spirit. God has not left you alone, let it be known that others has or will come forth and witness to that family member. You just find comfort that you are doing your part, God has others to help. Just like farming some will plant, others will water, some will tend, and that harvest will come to pass.

Or'el, I know you are somewhat a babe in Christ, but I want you to start seeking God for an overflow of the type of joy thats unspeakable, and that type of peace that surpasses all understand, so when tough test come along, weather in life or your call in kingdom building, that kind of joy and peace will carry you to experience God, where you can do what is called for you to do and enjoy the ride to the place you are going (Heaven),an eternal state of communion with God, an everlasting bliss.

Joyful :emot-hug:

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
