Ahh Fez . I've kicked that can around here before as well. It works for us, I like it. Americans don't want it. Each to their own..

The problem I have is that a citizens of a democratic country are being forced to accept something they don't want. That's wrong! And many of my brethren across the pond are mightily upset and angered by this. Regardless of how I feel about this bill in particular, or about socialised medicine, I do feel empathy for them.

Yod, they are not forcing you to buy anything from the government, they are forcing you to buy something from a private insurance company.

They shouldn't be forcing anyone to buy anything.

All that the IRS does is make sure you do actually have insurance and enforce a tax that is assessed if you refuse to purchase the minimum coverage.

And again I point out that the IRS is above the law. They, and only they, can search and seize property without due process or a court order.

I'm not comfortable even having an IRS, much less putting them in charge of forcing me to buy something.

So, since none of us really know what all is in this bill, we do owe it to them to at least see what's in there and how it will effect each of us before we throw them under the bus.....

that is bass ackwards. They owe it to us to let us know what is in the Bill before it goes to a vote. They owe it to us to allow our elected Representatives to be a part of the process. They owe it to us to do all of it in the open and NOT behind locked doors.

BTW, I would wager that there is nothing in the bill that Obama does not know about.

It has been stated there that they should do what's right not what's popular. However, there has been nothing Right about this whole process from the beginning. We have been cut out of it and our interest's haven't been Represented.

I remember you specifically saying the bill did not provide for abortion funding, even tho some of us, including myself, posted articles from Republican congressmen that stated and proved otherwise. We knew from the start the bill included abortion funding

Exactly Brother! Our representative gov't took a huge blow yesterday. It set a precedent that the gov't no longer works for the people. The gov't now works for its own gain...and can on a whim hoist another $1 trillion dollars in taxes on the people.

This was never about giving people free insurance...which isn't free btw. This was about putting a large percentage of the GDP under gov't control. Since Obama has become President we have seen a massive gov't takeover of the private sector including Fannie & Freddie, Banking, General Motors, student loans...and now healthcare. The gov't is invading and regulating the private sector at an alarming rate. That is NOT representation!
