I stole this from another group, thought it might be interesting here. :whistling: Is anyone 100% sure of their faith? (hope I'm putting this in the right place too)

Can we, as Christians be 100% sure of our faith?

I was told on the other site that we can't be. Of course it was by non-Christians so I know it's a spiritual thing. DH and I started to discuss it and it was an interesting discussion. I think we CAN be but often are not b/c of our humanness. I was also told by them that we can't "know", which Scripture clearly says we can know and that through the Holy Spirit we do know what we believe is true and real. I know I am 100% sure of my faith in Jesus Christ as my Savior, and the basis of my faith, God. I know I'm not always 100% sure in every area of my faith though, although I believe I can be if I continuously, daily walked with God and did what Eph 6 says with putting on the armor of God so that Satan could not fill my head with doubts. But again my humanness gets in the way. I'm not 100% sure of every doctrine of my faith but the basis of my faith, Jesus Christ and God's love, I am fully confident in that. I have often been accused of being arrogant b/c I have such a strong confidence in Jesus Christ and what I believe - Jesus is the only way, the trinity, the work of the Holy Spirit, etc. (basics of our faith)

Thought this was an interesting question asked by a non-Christian - can people be 100% sure of their faith? Or is that an oxymoron?

Speaking for myself, yes. I'm 100% sure of my faith and my salvation. And I'm 100% happy because of that. :whistling:

Hmm...I think we can go through trials which may cause us to doubt if God is still looking over us and such. And sometimes we may even doubt what and why we believe. But...God is the author and finisher of our faith. If we are saved, we will know it, and want to do the things that please Christ, regardless of what our mind may be telling us.

Romans 10:9 - That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Philippians 1:6 - being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

2 Corinthians 5:17 - Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!

1 Corinthians 12:3 - Therefore I tell you that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, "Jesus be cursed," and no one can say, "Jesus is Lord," except by the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 7:17 - Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.

Hebrews 11:6 - And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

I can say I am 100% sure of my faith. but I can also say that just like all other christians there are times in my life when i doubt or question my faith. The problem with alot of christians, which i am talking about myself also, is that we are "lukewarm".we have gotten to the point to where we tell people we are christians, we go to church every sunday, wednsday, and every other time they meet. we try not to cuss. we pray at least once a day cuz we feel guilty if we dont. but the problem is God didnt tell us to go to church every time they meet. he didnt tell us to get comfortable and stay there until we are in heaven. he tells us to step out of our comfort zone. we are supposed to zealously worship God. that word zealously. it means dont hold anything back. if you can walk, walk for God. if you can jump, jump for God. If you can throw a ball farther than anyone you know then go outside and throw that ball as hard as youve ever thrown it before as an act of worship. dont be afraid to cry out to God. dont worry what others will think if you raise your hands or if you go to the front of church. and dont be scared to go tell people about what Jesus did for them. If we spend our lives worrying about all the bad things that "could" happen, then we will never experience the great things that "will" happen. Its one thing to tell people we are 100% sure about our faith and brag about it on chat forums, but it is a completely different thing to go out into the world and show it.

Faith exercised is substances hoped for and received! If you act on obedience to God according to His Word you will grow in faith so much so that it no longer seems like faith. Example I used to walk and run on the ground because the ground supported me (it always has!) but now I know that it is because His Word upholds its nature to be ground and it is going away! Death is no more and ending but merely entering into perfect life and nearness to The Lord (I am actually going to look upon Jesus's face, me looking into God the Son's eyes!) wow I am eager for this time. If there was a volunteer place to go and die, sanctioned by God I would be first in line!!! I want to go home! I guess that is 100% Faith. Love Steven

I've had my faith tested to the core more times than I liked.

The funny thing is that whenever I got close to questioning "does God really exist", I kept remembering all the times the Lord made Himself real to me.

You know, there is something to that, "They overcame the accuser by . . . the word of their testimony. . . ."

Ephesians 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith ; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God ;

Romans 12:6 Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, each of us is to exercise them accordingly: if prophecy, according to the proportion of his faith ;

If faith is a gift from God I doubt it is flawed. There might be a bump in your faith but you will not lose it.

John 10:29

My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

When you look at the stars, like nebula does, then doubts creep in. However nebula looks at the stars and sees God's creation revealed. Maybe you can ask nebula to upload some pictures to see for yourself that faith in God is never in doubt.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
