Fez, it has been my experience that if he requested this spirit to enter him and does not wish it to leave, there is nothing that you can do. Father Malachi Martin who was an exorcist for 35+ years has written about his experiences and says the same.

If the Holy Spirit tells you to deal with it, then you can rid the man of the spirit, but unless he fills himself with the Holy Spirit, the spirit will return and will treat the man harshly for wanting the spirit gone.

So be very careful how you handle this and do nothing that God doesn't specifically direct you to do.....

Those are my thoughts on the subject, but as always I am very open to be proven wrong.

Agreed

Believers can not be indwelled with demons.Unbelievers could possibly be :noidea: .

I believe in what you said big time..one quick question..we are to pray without ceasing,ect..ok....brain callapsed..lol...but what if your a carnal christian.??...if you dont say in the faith and backslide can you then get possessed.....I think yes without a doubt cause your not in faith and compainship with the lord.....what do you think?

As long as the Holy Spirit resides in you, the "house" is not empty and the demons cannot possess you.

oh,oh,oh...lol.....ok when your anointed by the holy spirit..i believe your washed clean of all unclean spirits..is this correct????....If so if someone was to backslide wouldnt you be taking the of a unclean spirit to come back in;????? just wondering

From my understanding, Christians can be affected by spirits of "oppression" but cannot be "possessed" by demons. Spirits of oppression make themselves manifest when ones mind drifts away from God's word, when we disconnect from His spirit due to lack of prayer and time in the Lord. That is when the mind lowers itself to the world and becomes affected by the world instead of living in the spirit. An example of spirits of oppression are: Addiction, anger, pride, envy, materialism, constant unexplained illness, greed, depression, impure thoughts etc... These are gained by spirits of the "world". Hope this helped ..:)

Fez.. Does he run away before you want to start praying for him or after you began the prayer? What about just mentioning the name of Jesus in a conversation? To see his reaction. Although from what you mentioned it does sound like he has something in him. It's a tough situation really because he needs to be saved in order for these spirits to not return in him, and he definitely won't want to be saved because the spirits don't want to leave him and are controlling his mind. The only way I could see this work is if there was a guaranty that he would accept Jesus in his life after the spirits are cast out of him.

Ok this might sound weird, but here goes.

Background

One of my responsibilities is to manage a cleaning company that cuts verges, clears drains, cleans ablution blocks in the Park where I work. They are contracted to us and hire their own staff. All of these staff are Zulu male or females. there are about 30 of them. Their supervisor is a wonderful guy named Ronnie, a Zulu catholic pastor who attends my home group for training from time to time (how to prepare sermons, etc). My home group is not catholic, we are New Covenant, apostolic, prophetic I guess you can call us. (as is my church)

Problem

One of the grass cutting team is a Zulu male named Dumisani. He seems to be possessed by something. What happens is that he will be working in the grass cutting team and will all of a sudden start speaking in a deep voice/s that is not his own for 5 or 10 minutes. Straight afterwards he fall into such a deep sleep some have thought he was dead.

Now I have lived in Africa my entire life, and know that Sangoma's (witch doctors), are everywhere and a lot of my staff go to them rather than a medical doctor. Many Zulu's (most although they will not talk about it), believe that curses can be put on you by a Sangoma that will result in ill health or death.

It transpires that in this case Dumisani went to a Sangoma to have himself cut and infused with medicine that would allow him to know other peoples business, and what they are thinking. He knew full well that the Sangoma was going to infuse him with a spirit to allow him to do this.

I myself have observed him in this coma like state but never heard the voices he uses, because the staff say whenever a Christian like Ronnie or myself is near, these voices and the fit he has do not manifest. We only see the end result, which is the coma like state.

Now I don't know if this is psychosomatic with Dumisani, or there is more to it and this is a demon. But he has been and visited evil in the form of the Sangoma, and asked, invited this "spirit" to enter.

Solution?

I don't quite know. Dumisani won't talk to us about it, and refuses to be prayed over, he runs away. He has promised to come to church (Ronnie's), but so far has failed to appear. I hesitate to say this is demon possession, not knowing much about it except what I read in the Bible, so I guess I am a bit sceptical, and am also looking for another, rational reason this could be happening.

Any thoughts?

You need to read the book War on The Saints from early 1900's. It explains everything concerning demonic powers. Another one is Pigs in the Parlor. The first is open source and available online in full text.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
