It almost sounds like you are depressed.

I just feel so tired of this world. This sin soaked, war torn, sex obssessed, hateful lump of a world.

I just yearn to sit next to the "river Jordan" with my feet in the water "drawing pictures in the sand."

I think there's a part of me that's a little afraid that if I spend too much time thinking about heaven, I'll just lose interest in this world altogether and that leads to a dangerous place for someone like me.

I hear what you're saying.

I try to do my duty while I'm here. I pray, I witness, I war against my flesh, but I desire the day when the war will be over. The Bible says we are "strangers in a strange land" and I feel that down to my bones.

I hate the evil in this world too, but it is not all bad. There is still a lot of good. It all comes down to what you dwell on. Try not to focus all of your attention on the bad, but look at the beauty God has created. Now you are probably thinking, look at all that I say about the sad state of affairs in this nation, and you would be right, but even when I look at the problems in America, I haven't lost all hope. You are not here by accident.

I know there is good in the world. I have grown children that I adore and friends that are wonderful. There is beauty even in the worst of places on earth - but again, this place is but the train station on our way to where we will truly be alive.

I can't argue with that, but just remember, what is this life in comparison to eternity? :emot-hug: We will all reach that city in God's time. If you lived to be 100, so what? You are heading for a place where time will have no meaning.

Okay! Fine! I'm happy! See? Look!:taped::101::101::101:

Oh, give it up, wyguy, those little dancing smiley faces are a farce!

Seriously, I do know exactly how you feel. I watched the news earlier this evening just to see the weather and it was so sickening. Add to that how weary I already am at a pretty young age, and I'm ready for the Lord's return.

I do know He's in control of it all, though, so I do my best not to dwell on the depravity I see around me every day.

And I have a great appreciation for the beauty of this universe God created. I'm a photographer who cannot resist a flower or sunrise or sunset or even a tree. But like you, I find myself wondering how much more beautiful the world to come will be. And I long for an end to the struggle we face here as well.

I don't know about you guys, but more and more lately I have such a powerful longing for Heaven. It's like my soul wants to burst out of my body and go be with the Lord.

Well, I do have a depression problem. So I have a hard time discerning what is genuine longing for Heaven vs. just wanting to escape this life.

Something in me has shifted and all I want is to be off of this planet and fall before the feet of God.

Well, if this means anything, I have found my best times of worship to be when I've been in the most pain and/or troubled heart.

I keep thinking I might miss that once I leave here.

I am losing interest in things that took up so much of my attention before,

Sometimes I feel that way . . . then I fall back into my old routines. :emot-hug:

No, I'm not talking about a Peter Frampton song.

I don't know about you guys, but more and more lately I have such a powerful longing for Heaven. It's like my soul wants to burst out of my body and go be with the Lord. Something in me has shifted and all I want is to be off of this planet and fall before the feet of God. I am losing interest in things that took up so much of my attention before, and I was wondering if any of y'all felt like this.

Umm, wysguy, (oops, typo) is this really you??? This question is well, serious... :101:

And yes, when I clicked on your forum post I was hearing that talking guitar of Mr. Frampton's. :noidea:

Were only here 100 years at best, and most less than that. While looking forward to the next life with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, I am also looking to be about His business while I am here. How many here would like to hear from the Almighty when we are before Him: "Well done, thou good and faithful servant?" It's my love for Him that drives me in this life, and for the love of others to see them spared from the wrath of Hell for the same reason I was, repentance and believing in Jesus Christ and His shed blood for the forgiveness of those past sins. Thank you again Jesus!

" If sinners be damned at least let them leap to hell over our bodies. Let them go with our arms around their knees. Let no one go there unwarned or unprayed for."

~Charles Spurgeon

I find myself wanting to stay as long as I can be of use to the Lord for others. But ultimately, looking forward to being with Him for eternity, which really starts in this life. The reality of dropping this tents body and putting on immortality sounds great too.

(1Co 15:53-58)

For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
