Toddlers & Tiaras

I think these things are horrible, I have been watching the show "Toddlers & Tiaras" some of these kids at 4 and 5 years are pure Diva's, its so sad. Parent's are even withholding toys to make sure they perform correctly, I think this is so wrong!

Kids that young need to play in mud and eat insects and try to trap wild birds. They don't need make up and peer pressure. Good grief.

I haven't seen that show, but my opinion on children beauty pageants is that they'd be OK, if they made it a children's version, not copy the adult version.

I've never seen it, but I beleive that if someone is going to have contests for toddlers, they should all get prizes.They're too young for competition.

Ooops, I accidentally clicked "no" in the second poll. I meant "yes". I think these pageants are disgusting. Seriously. What are little girls doing wearing that much makeup and jewelry? What is that teaching them? They are obviously a part of their parents' sick obsession.

Yea, what kind of a kid would want to be in a stupid competion like that? If the parents want a pagaent like that, let they should be the contestants, not the children. I can't imagine a kid that would even have his heart in something like that.

The closest thing there is to makeup in my house is vegemite and fence paint.

If Beanie gets involved in fashion and beauty it certainly won't be because of me .

When I was a teen (believe it or not) I hated make up and swapped it for weekend biv's wearing cam paint and leopard crawling through the bush. I hope my daughter does the same.

I've watched that show a few times and the one thing really sticks out, at least to me, is that the mothers seem to be living out THEIR desire to be beauty queens through their daughters. And the kids, for the most part, seem to be bored and irritable. I wanted my daughters to be smart and educated (althought they ARE pretty) and not obsessed with how they look.

I didn't even know a show like that was on tv but I saw a one minute vid this morning of one of those little brats ahh beauties. My goodness if my 4 year old daughter spoke to me that way she wouldn't be standing in front of the mirror putting on lip gloss! I can just imagine what these kids may grow up to be like if most of their life is spent in adoration of themselves, where all the light is always on them.

I never wore makeup, still don't and my daughter decided when she was about 3 dresses were not for her ever! lol It just about broke her grandmothers heart too! lol These kids should be kids, playing outside getting dirty and not worrying about what they are going to wear or their routines etc.
