He's not the first general to step down since 2001 and I'm sure he won't be the last. But he IS the only one who has absolutely NO judgment....or else he's gone senile. All he had to do was resign; he didn't HAVE to make himself look like a moron.

He needs to go; just like MacArthur.

Silence would have been the high road.

Two wrongs have never made a right.

What I would like to see happen is to have Obama make the following statement: "Upon further reflection, I have come to the conclusion that General McCrystal is correct in everything he said. I underestimated how tough the job of President of the United States was, and I am clearly not ready to lead, therefore I am resigning effective at Noon today."

I think McChrystal knew exactly what he was doing when he made those comments, but felt it was necessary for the good of the nation to expose the incompetence of the administration, and to let everyone know how they are hampering the war effort. To me, McChrystal is a hero, but I expect that it will cost him his job. Hopefully when that happens, he will feel free to further expose everything he knows about the mishandling of the war.

Odd that he would do this since he's a Democrat who voted for Obama.

Well he meaning McChrystal has since found out what a HUGE mistake he made by voting for Obama so before he went he just wanted to let the world know the truth.

It's going to be very interesting to watch this play out. From my perspective, the General is trying to protect our troops. We'll see if maybe he has another agenda as time goes along. I doubt the man is just stupid considering the position he is in. And I doubt that he was just slipping up in talking to the Rolling Stone reporter.

We'll see as time goes along what his aganda was/is.

Other news sources are reporting that Obama released him. Which is the real story, I wonder...did McChrystal resign or did Obama kick him to the curb?

According to Worthy News, Obama accepted the resignation and replace him with . . . General David Petraeus.

Anyone else feel a little :noidea: ?
